অনুপম রায় একজন বাংলা ভাষার সমসাময়িক গায়ক, গীতিকার এবং সুরকার। ২০১০ সালে সৃজিত মুখার্জির অটোগ্রাফ চলচ্চিত্রে "আমাকে আমার মতো থাকতে দাও" ও "বেঁচে থাকার গান" এর মাধ্যমে কলকাতার গানের জগতে আলোড়ন ফেলে দিয়েছিলেন। তিনি ২৯ মার্চ, ১৯৮২ সালে জন্ম গ্রহণ করেন। তার প্রাথমিক শিক্ষার ১০ বছর পার করেন কলকাতার সেন্ট পালস ব্রডিং অ্যান্ড ডে স্কুলে। কলেজের পড়া শেষ করেন বেহালার এমপি বিরলা ফাউন্ডেশন থেকে। অনুপম রায় কলকাতার যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে ইলেক্ট্রনিক্স এন্ড টেলিকমিউনিকেশন ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এ পড়াশোনা করেছেন। যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে ২০০৪ সালে গোল্ড মেডেল অর্জন করেন। অনুপম রায় গানের সবকাজ নিজেই করেন। তার অধিকাংশ গানের ক্ষেত্রেই তিনি নিজেই গান লেখেন, সুর করেন এবং গান গান। উল্লেখযোগ্য গ্রন্থসমূহ : ম্যাকি, বৃষ বসে থাকে, আমাদের বেঁচে থাকা, মন ও মেজাজ, অনুপম কথা, সময়ের বাইরে, ছোঁয়াচে কলম, অনুপমকথা ও অন্যান্য।

This book is a collection of columns by Anupam Roy that he wrote for a couple of well-known Bengali dailies. The first being Ebela and the second being Pratidin.

These essays cover a diverse array of topics, ranging from childhood reminiscences, celebrityhood, making music, foreign gigs, social issues, and of course, Anupam's love for football, Durga Puja, and Pink Floyd. I was able to relate to the author's views and opinions with great ease, and I could also appreciate the colloquial writing style and the sincerity in his prose. The book also gave me a larger peek into the life of an artist whose work I deeply admire.

Recommended for anyone who prefers light reading in contemporary Bengali non-fiction.
