Our little secret
This book is about a concept which is still considered very strange and weird to many – Adultery and Extramarital relationships. Every now and then we come across movies, tv shows and even book where a character is in love with two persons at the same time and we wonder how is that even possible because Bollywood has taught us that we fall in love only once. In this novel also Avni, the female protagonist comes across a similar situation where she is in love with two men in her life and she has to choose one. Whom did she choose? Madhav who turned a rude, arrogant and shabby Doctor into a confident lady or Yuvraj, her husband who loves her dearly and also has a daughter with him.
I took the time to write this review as I was totally confused as to what to write. I have mixed feelings about this book I liked it but there were some scenes also where I did not. I liked Madhav as soon as he entered the book but there was a time when he suddenly disappears from the book and reappears again which made me the question was he really that good as a character. But again I liked him as his chemistry with Avni was good and interesting to read.
The narration of the book was good and the author has described the character of Avni really well. The way she improves throughout the novel and turns into someone really good was impressive. The plot was interesting and the storytelling skills of the Author are remarkable. The book is a one time read and I will give it 3 stars.

Blurb- The story begins in Government hospital pune with busy hospitals chores with housemen, residents, surgeries and presentations. This reminds me of my hospital and college life. That made me nostalgic. Story is about Dr. Avani Kirloskar she is a gynaecologist and her love interest Dr. Madhav Patel, newly appointed paediatrician. But like every love stories, their life took turn and they parted their ways. But unlike routine love stories, plot takes a turn. Avani rises from the pain and get married to a wealthy businessman Yuvaraj. But eventually, Madhav finds her and Avani is pulled towards him. Read the book to know about Avani’s decision. Will Avani choose to stay with Yuvaraj or she will get together with her long lost love Madhav?

I loved the writing style. Every hospital details are mentioned so carefully and interestingly that even a non medico can understand it. I rarely like love stories but I liked this one, it’s different and written wonderfully. Different concept, unpredictable ending. This story perfectly reflects love stories and confusion of youth with modern era. Overall good one. I loved this.

My review :-

The cover of the book looks very good and the title is appropriate for the way the book ends. It's the debut novel of the author and has done a great job at showcasing the thoughts, emotions and feelings in the book.

The book is a simple love story of Two doctors who meet during their work and fall in love and the guy leaves the girl in midway. The girl moves on with marriage and new family but the turn of events takes place when the old lover reappears and the lost love resurfaces. How does the girl handle it ? What happens and who does she choose to be with is what the story is all about.

The writing style of the author is good. The way the medical terms has been kept simple and also proper explanation provided wherever necessary makes it an easy job for the reader. Overall the books is a good one time read and a quick read since it is very small.

The most striking features of the book although is the topics of discussion that it presents to the society and life in general. Firstly, about how the events of our life in the past dictates our nature and behaviour in the present. How every negative aspect of it clouds our mind so the we deliberately ignore the positive things happening in our present. Why should we let our past incidents rule over us and make our present miserable ??

Secondly, does love trump everything else ? Is it okay to cheat on your spouse for your desires to be with the love of your life ? How could the spouse be able to react to such situations ? Can't you let go of the people you love for the sake of the people who love you. ? What's the role of society in all these circumstances and how would it affect what people think ? Can adultery be accepted in the name of Love ?? It's for us to think and answer our selves...!

The plot of the blook revolves around DR.Avni Kirloskar who is an obstetrician and gynecologist. As the story reveals, Dr.Avni is a kind of lady- all colleagues fear from and is loathed by her students for her disdainful and repulsive looks. She has shut her world in the hospital and her room and is unmoved by the remarks made about her.

That is when Dr.Madhav enters in her life, a newly appointed doctor with his charming looks is a pediatrician. He is shown as a stubborn character and comes into Avni's Life to change is for better. He teaches her how to love herself, about various relationships and life. Avni slowly falls for Madhav. The author has wonderfully explained the romance between the two.

But it gets very hard for Avni, to part ways with Dr. Madhav when the time comes, as in all the while she had become veryy attached and fond of him . BUT DOES MADHAV FEELS THE SAME?

The later part of the story shows that, Avni marries a wealthy businessman Yuvraj. But will her past still haunt her after all these years? Will she ever forget Madhav and settle into a life of mundane fidelity with Yuvraj?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT.

The author tried to make the story dramatic to some extinct and succeeded but the end gets a little twisty and unusual! Overall it was an okay-ish read for me .

The concept of extramarital affairs is something I totally condemn whether the doer is a male or a female. I haven't read many books on this genre either and after picking this up , it further helped me to stay firm on my belief.

The book majorly revolves around Dr.Avni who is a doctor but too arrogant and rude , primarily the reason why she isn't liked by many . When she comes across the newly appointed Dr. Madhav ,pangs of love blossoms into her heart. But due to some unavoidable circumstances both had to part ways . She then finds a wealthy businessman Yuvraj and confides to him. Both get married and Yuvraj loves her dearly. But suddenly Madhav enters into her life and she finds herself on crossroads . Whom will she choose? Read the book to find out.

The book is a kind of cliched read. I dint like the character of Avni at all. I mean I dont know why such flippers are shown in good light and a story is carved so that we can have sympathy for such morons. I mean if a man does the same will anyone be talking about how insecured his childhood and how traumatic his past was ?? No! They just tag him as pervert and use senseless labels like ' Men Will Be Men' but a mere reversal of genders and whoa, you get a tale where even double faced people are portrayed to be someone angelic. Also the story is dragged more than is required. It could easily have been finished in 70-80 pages. The ending is a further disappointment. Overall ,not a worthy read neither in terms of the message it tries to convey nor in terms of plot or narration. Not recommended.

Dr. Avni Kirloskar, is a gynecologist who has been hurt by life and thinks of herself as ugly and unwanted, which she is not. Dr. Madhav Patel, is a newly-appointed, charming and intelligent pediatrician, who wants to be her friend in spite of her surly attitude and distrust of men. Madhav breaks through her barriers and motivates her to take care of herself and she becomes strong and beautiful both physically and mentally. A romance blossom between the two and Avni gets so attached to Madhav that when they part ways, it shatters her completely. Avni rises from the pain of lost love and marries a wealthy businessman, Yuvraj. Eventually, Madhav hunts her down and when they meet, their love rekindles into a fervid fire, entirely beyond their control. The characters have been crafted well and the book is very well written and holds one's interest. One tends to like Madhav's character in the beginning, but in the end, he turns out to be a lecherous man who wants to keep both his wife and mistress. The only reason I am giving this book a four star is because I don't approve of extramarital affairs.

Our little secret

Cover is good, simple & designed well.
Title is good, interesting & goes with the plot in hand.
Theme talks about love, romance, joy, friendship, happiness, relationships, secrets, ideas, medical life, doctors, suspense, etc.

Story has nothing much to offer other than normal romance.
Plot starts with two doctors who share some common secrets & it beaves into a story which has been drawn here.
Things progresses into their relationship, how it extrapolates into procrastination of worthwhile events.
Only the narrative aspect seems to be interesting, smooth, volatile & worth giving a shot. Other than that, I didn't find anything worth engaging, moving, learning or interesting!

The drawbacks are story is disengaging, monotonous & doesn't have much to offer. Plot doesn't offer much, accompanied with the lackadaisical narration which makes reading this boring. Language is simple.

Our little secreat is a love story of two adults who are doctors. It's a love story of Avni and Madhav who worked in a same hospital, Avni is a girl who has been called ugly all her life until Madhav comes in her life and teaches her to love her self.
Well COVER is good, there is nothing unique in the plot apart fron some lines which were really good and the way madhav treated avni was sooo good. Author has explained meaning of love differently. I can connect to Avni being an overweight girl all my life (though I am not now) I can feel how she had felt. There is adultry in it and various topics like extra material affair, sex before marriage etc. were discussed.

Overall: I like some parts where that topics were discussed. I liked few parts thats it there is nothing in it just a story of a girf. One cannot connect with the plot.

My Ratings will be 3/5 stars

This book started with an idea about a which maybe considered wrtokg and weird to many people in our society, adultery and extramarital affairs.

We must have come across movies, serials, & also via our society or parents, we learnt that we fall in love only once. However, that's not true always.

I liked some aspects of the book, whereas other times it didn't quite connect with me.
Language is simple. Narration is good. Characterisation is good. Plot is interesting. Storytelling is okay.

Our Little Secret is the story about two doctors who end up having secrets. It talks about the story of Avni and Madhav, their relationship and how this relationship stands the test of important events in their lives.

While the narration is good, the plot hasn’t got much to offer. The language is simple and narration is straightforward. The story set in a hospital background is refreshing.

Since the plot doesn’t have much for the reader it doesn’t connect much. Also, it doesn’t demand much from the reader in terms of attention.

I recommend this book if time needs to be passed while waiting for something. Overall, a book to swallow.

Summary-
It's the unusual love story of Avni and Madhav, who part ways after their relationship breaks. They go their separate ways but after years when those two meet again, their love resurfaces. Will they be able to resist the temptation? Or they fall in for each other again? What about their spouses?

.
.

Review-

The cover is quite simple and I feel could have been made more interesting. But it doesn't give away its story at all. The story is much more than the cover.

Narration is good and simple. The story is mostly set up in a hospital which was something new for me, so I liked the background. I could relate to Avni's insecurities at the beginning. Characters are relatable.

Now comes the plot, the plot felt like Bollywood cliché romance movie to be honest. The whole "hum, tum aur woh" (you, me & the 3rd one) vibe was there. The author tried to make the ending a bit dramatic and definitely succeeded. But I felt the plot was quite obvious and could have been more better; it was plain at times I felt.

I personally don't like romance novel much, but I still was able to complete it. So it's good for a one time read.

The girl gets married with someone else, life goes well until life has planned unexpected things for her & unfortunate events takes place when the old lover reappears & the lost love rekindles.
What happens next? To knowTo know, read the book.
The writing style of the author is good. The way the medical terms has been kept simple and also proper explanation provided wherever necessary makes it an easy job for the reader. Overall the books is a good one time read and a quick read since it is very small.
