Dr. Neil Cabe, a retired clinical counselor, has written on many subjects. His own history includes four years in the U.S. Submarine Service, including the story told here of an unimaginable dive on his first submarine. It could easily have been his last.
This is a great book about a real life adventure of my father who was on board during this incident. I had married and was living in Texas at the time and my mother mentioned the incident in a phone call only once because she thought I had heard about it. Since my parents have died and never talked about it I have been curious of what it was like. Nate Cabe did a great job of telling the story! Wish I could thank him, but he too has passed on. When I finished the book I was left wondering about the rest of the story...what happened after they returned to Gitmo & how were families notified? Would be interesting to talk with someone who was there!
