Her Small Town Mountain Men

Rate this book
They’ve got enough Wood to keep her occupied…

Piper
I'm stranded.
Completely alone on the side of the road.
When I call for help the last person I expect to rescue me is one of them.
Growing up, Maddox and Ryder made my life a living hell.
But they’re not boys anymore.
They’re all grown up with the muscles to prove it.
Hot, arrogant and thoroughly alpha.
They’re not looking at me like I’m some annoying kid.
I shouldn’t crave them, but I can’t help myself.
They both want me, and they're too hard to ignore.
Maybe some sins should be forgiven.

Maddox/Ryder
Only the strong can survive life in the mountains, and come out on top.
We thought we had it all.
Until she shows up.
Piper, our childhood crush.
The cute little redhead we’d teased has turned into a seductive temptress.
She’s all woman now, with a spitfire mouth to match.
She wants to pretend the heat in her eyes isn’t there, but we see the way she looks at us.
She wants an apology?
Hell yes. We’re going to show her just how sorry we are.
But she’s on the run from something.
We'll never let anything or anyone hurt her.
We'll protect her and hold on tight,
Because we're never going to lose her again.

I wanted a mindless fluff read while I watched TV (yes I know I am weird) but this was definitely not it. This is a book that makes you want to take a shower after reading and not in a good way. The entire book is just badly written porn. I feel like authors are starting to care more about pushing out products more than the quality of their work.

*SPOILERS*

I hated everyone... The men bullied her relentlessly all throughout school. It would be one thing if they just teased her a little bit but they had the entire school turned against her. She had to move away to finally get some relief and to finally make a friend. Of course, the men didn’t realize how bad she was hurt and they blamed it on liking her but not knowing how to express it. I can’t believe authors are still using these school yard antics. It is one thing to act like that at 5 but it is totally different when you are in high school and know better. How selfish do you have to be to not see how much you are hurting someone? Now that they are grown up they are still selfish because they think she should just get over it. So what do you think happens? She gets over it on the same day and has sex with them. She also ends up apologizing for holding a grudge. This is one of the weakest heroines I have ever read. I instantly hate any heroine who seriously says that it is every woman’s dream to stay at home and be taken care of by a rich man. That is why she had stayed with her ex even after she found out he was a criminal. She said she was accustomed to the lifestyle and didn’t want to leave. Him shooting someone in front of her is what finally made her go. After getting with the guys it turned into the same thing again. What happened to her schooling for dental hygienists? The only thing she did was have sex 24/7. The scenes were plain awful. The amount of times they go at it she should be black and blue head to toe being that she “loves it when they leave bruises”. I felt bad for her because she was treated as their play thing or as they like to think “slut”. I don’t want to sound like a prude but this was not well done kink. Why did the author think it was okay to have them go have sex while their cousins wife is missing, in their cousins house, in a room next to where they are waiting? Let alone do it while the police were there to question them? They said it was okay because people handle stress in different ways. That is true, but under no circumstance is this acceptable.
They are all TSTL. Did she call the cops when she witnessed the murder? No. I kind of get her reasoning when she was on the run by herself. Did the men help her find someone trustworthy to tell? Nope. When the bomb was put on the truck no one even put two and two together. Do they think something is wrong when the cabins are set on fire? Negative. They finally call the cops at the very end who took out the bad guy before the men even had a chance. It makes you think that this could have all ended much sooner. We didn’t even get the action of the take down. That was the one thing I was looking forward to.
I could go on but I hated everything so just read the book and find out for yourself. Maybe it is your cup of tea but I am thoroughly annoyed.

Abso-freakin-lutely Incredibke Author!!

Backstory: I have been laid up with kidney stones for 2 days now needing distraction from the pain. I don't normally leave reviews because, let's face it, my writing really sucks!

That aside, I cannot begin to say how awesome this book was! This is the second of Shae's books I have read in the past two days. The first was Her Twin Mountain Men. I have laughed, cried and become totally immersed in the characters and stories she has weaved on this Mountain! Each person has a voice and you are drawn I to their past and present to get a better understanding of them as people and why they are doing everything they do. As their story unfolds, Shea takes you on an incredible, sexy and steamy journey of love, lust, more love and a very happy ending! If I could give this book and series more stars I would do so gladly! A must read for menage enthusiasts! Can't wait to finish the next one!!

Consistent editing issues and consistency made it extremely difficult to read!! Literally felt like the author wrote it and published it without even letting a second pair of eyes read it before doing so. It’s extremely frustrating to see an author put their name on something and can’t take the time to put any quality into it at all!

You can’t have a guy rip her panties off and then the next page she’s running down the hall in panties! You can’t constantly spell simple words WRONG and think it’s can still flow. You can’t have a female crying scared for her life and a male only thinking about screwing her and expect readers to care for that character WTF!!

For anyway saying this was such an amazing book I would hate to see what you think is actually bad!! I will not be reading anything else by this author

Needs a huge edit

I’ve read a number of Shea Sullivan’s books and all have the same issues! They each and every one needs a HUGE editorial overhaul, as well as beta read for errors in spelling or word usage context.

While these books are super creative and fun, it kills the whole swing of things when you are given the wrong word context. An example (just one so I’m not loading this with negative) is when Maddox removes Pipers shirt and “pealing away to her cream-colored-Lacey bra...

I’m giving this one star because while the story is good, it makes my head hurt to be thrown out of the tale every page because of grammar, POV and tense changes, mid used words and wrong spelling.

Great story

The stories by this author are fantastic. However the book needs spell and grammar checks before it's published. Too many errors makes it difficult forbearance definitely not a smooth read. Also I believe in the book about Dolly and the twin men, she supposedly had triplets in that book but in this book it refers to her having twins. Consistency is needed. Overall I enjoyed the story and suspense.

Great story, terrible grammar and proofing

I loved the story, but kept getting tripped up on all the missing words, the wrong form of a word and other grammatical errors. Needs a good proofreader or editor.

Nothing is better

When love is freely given or received! Another really good story that could have been great if ONLY THE PROOFREADING WAS ADDRESSED!!!! So frustrating 😠. Steamy MFM intimacy scenes, no mm play, no cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ever after.

His hilly-hoo and her cha-cha

Maddox, Ryder and Piper. Well, I'm in love with Maddox. He is my dream guy. He loves Britney Spears and has a great since of humor. This is a great read, funny, yet sad at times. The sex is scorching.

A pretty good story, but holy moly there are way too many typos, run on sentences and poor sentence structure. This made following the flow of the story difficult.

Ok needs more story then sex lots of typos

The author or editor really needs to sit down and do a reread I can handle one word out of place but the book was riddled with them.
