Cassandra Piece, better known as Cassie, is a young and sheltered rich kid from Chicago's suburbs turned out by a young trap prince, or so she thinks. Kerron Davis is the man of her dreams and nothing, not even her loving parents will stop her from being with a dude who claims to be a young, rich thug on the come up. Nonetheless, like so many gullible young women, Cassie will soon discover that choosing Kerron over the loving arms of her family will drag her life slowly down the all-too-familiar and predictable rabbit hole of black single motherhood, dealing with situations she's never encountered in her short and sheltered young life. After getting pregnant and subsequently dealing with a cheating, good-for-nothin' nicca who ends up getting arrested, her back-to-back trials and tribulations begin to take a deleterious toll on Cassie. However, when she finally meets Tramella, a seemingly gregarious and warm certified boss bish who is the manager of a growing CNA agency, all Cassie's prayers seem to be answered. Tramella takes Cassie in as her new mentee, offering her a new lease on life; a lucrative employment opportunity with Morning Star Healthcare Agency, Inc. Cassie is overjoyed at the thought of now having a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She sees all the money Tramella and her team is making and wants to get in where she can fit in. After all, isn't CNA work basically like being a nurse? she wonders. But soon she will discover Tramella's Morning Star Healthcare Agency is making money in ways unimaginable. Find out what happens in this crazy, addictive ratchet tale by bestselling author Quan Millz and Ms. Bam! [Previously published under CNA Hoe Dreams]
If Victor Hugo were alive today, and were a black man living in the inner city, he'd probably write in a style similar to Quan Millz.
CNA THOTs is certainly the most polished book by Millz I have yet to read. I think the fact that he co-wrote this with Ms. Bam caused the grammatical quality to improve. It's easy to see who was in charge of writing which scenes, as well, with Ms. Bam seemingly taking charge on the softcore porn segments while Millz handles the interpersonal drama of the characters.
However, much like the rest of Millz's bibliography, plot points still get abandoned with alarming frequency, usually as soon as the writer gets bored with them. The characters are still as extra as always, and things wrap up way too quickly. It often gets confusing to track what happens when and with whom, but by the end of the novel you'll be smiling so hard it doesn't matter.
While I have enjoyed my ride with Quan Millz, I think I am going to give him a break for a while. His books are mainly a novelty, but are most definitely not without their moments. Happy reading!
Ive struggled with reading Quan Millz books every since I found out that he was white…but they really are good books. Like really really good. But at least I got it free on Kindle, right?!? Idk…I really can’t hate on the man. When u got it u got it…*shoulder shrug*
This was actually a great read. It definitely had some ratchet in it but it was also comical and interesting. I hope part two comes soon and Mella gets a dose of her own medicine!
I’ve read a lot of Quan books and this is my second least favourite. A lot of stuff is left completely unresolved and Vontavis is just truly, truly awful.
Hard-headed kids make for a soft behind. What she need was a whopping to get her back on track. But I guess that was out of the question. They didn't have to do what they did to her. You can't help who you love you just got to go through it until the end. You can tell someone gave her a break, but what catches your eye is how naive she was to what was going on around her. How she could not just listen to the person tell her about what was going on. Things happen and make you see where you are wrong. Sometimes it is just wise to listen and follow. Then to think you know everything and it is shown to you, you are wrong. A wise man thinks before speaking and a foolish one speaks before he thinks. Just like a wise person listen to those around them while a foolish one just keeps doing what they want to do.
I wanna know what's gonna happen? I hope Cassie wise up and figure things out before it's too late. I really enjoyed this book. His books have some wild ass titles but they are good. Just sad it ending so quick.
I had no idea where the book was going at first but it kept me turning the pages. Tramella, Cassie and all the characters kept me in the zone with them. I am going to start the other part right now.
this was a hot mess in every sense: trashy, offensive, ridiculous and somehow exactly what it promised to be. this is not a “good book,” but it is an experience. i don’t recommend it (but i will absolutely read the sequel).
i honestly think quan millz books are so funny and entertaining to read, i can literally finish one of his books in a day LOL but i really liked this book HOWEVER. i thought that the main character, Cassie, was going to get roped into this whole "business" that Tramella had going on?!!!?!?!?!? why did it have to be her cousin that got trapped rather than Cassie? i liked that she got to escape before she got invited in Tramella's whole ordeal but going into the book i feel like she should've.
Ever since I've started following Quan Millz, I fell in love with his style. Who else can take a story and capture your imagination from beginning to end. I loved this book, and highly recommend all whom read to pick this book up. I bet you'll get hooked as well, and that's a challenge.
This was heat!!! Since I work as a CNA I know this vs can get out of hand at times. But damn this was like eating the whole cake without asking did anybody else want some. I would like to purchase Yo Grandma, is.my Sidepiece. I inboxes you. So please feel free to answer my questions.
Quan Mills is easily becoming one of my favorite authors. Whenever I’m in the mood for ratchet entertainment he doesn’t disappoint. CNA is actually a pretty good read and I’m looking forward to the next installment.
Mr Millz always keeps my attention no matter what the name of the book is. Whoever thought about nursing assistant's whoring to their clients. Very grimy, but extremely good.
