We have finally come to the end of the series. James’ upgraded has short circuited and he is wrapped up in a Hope Indian legend. Just as Alexa and their friends help him they learn that Eve’s versions are insane and that she has a plan to reset everything and bring James’ upgrades back on line. James is so wrapped up in how important the upgrades are he is off to help Eve.

Logan is a wreck with Monica terrorizing him and threatening to show the video to Mia and Grace. He wants to get out of New Chicago with everything malfunctioning yet is kept firmly in place with Monica. But the truth is going to come out and there is going to be one chance to get back to the real world.

Well we have come a long way from the collapse of the world to a crazy AI trying to kill mankind. James has become more robot than human and is so focused on getting his upgrades to work that he can’t see those around him.

Logan has become a sniveling man so worried about breaking Mia and Grace’s hearts that he has lost sight of the big picture. I do understand the position he is in but I admit that I was getting tired of his going around and around and it started to take away from the story.

Besides that, this is a great ending to the series. I really didn’t expect what was happening at the end and thought that was a great twist. Price Waldman does an excellent job narrating this story and keeping me interested.

If you love the dystopian/apocalyptic stories like me I think you will enjoy this series. Just make sure to read them in order because the next book jumps right into when the prior one ends.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. I voluntarily chose to listen to and post an honest review.

Things are coming to a head now and surprises are still in store for James and Alexa as well as Logan and Mia and various family members and friends but one thing is certain: what they thought were bad times before may become the “good old days”. Our focus is still on four entities, Logan, Monica, James and Eve and, although the two groups are separated by miles, neither one is better off than the other.

I’ve had a certain antipathy towards Logan and this third book solidified it. It was bad enough that he let his hormones take charge while life is going to hell in a handbasket but, ever since, he hasn’t had the backbone to stand up to Monica and –gasp! –tell Mia the truth, not even when he finally understands what Monica is. James, on the other hand, did an incredibly selfish thing in the previous book and now he’s paying the price, perhaps facing annihilation of his enhanced brain.

Most importantly, though, can Eve’s claim to being on humanity’s side against the corrupted AIs be true or is all that a ploy to get total and final control? Is it possible for an AI, even one as powerful as Eve, to develop an empathy for her erstwhile victims? I’m not gonna lie, I think Eve is my favorite of all the characters and Mr. Muhlenfeld is to be commended for not only creating a marvelous story but for working with Mr. Waldman to bring it to life 😉

RESET: Book 3 of the Obsolescence Trilogy (Kindle Edition) by Chris Muhlenfeld

Time to wrap it up.
A very worthy series, and definitely a page turner. Altho the story did get bogged down in the depression of our main characters. But, their achievements were no less remarkable, yay!

I was glad to finally get through this. I liked the first book but they just kept getting weirder and weirder. I actually hated sitting down to read this last book but wanted to finish to see if it ended with anything that made any sense, it didn’t.

I’d suggest you find something else to read.

What a beautifully written piece! The author paints vivid images with their words, making every scene come alive. I felt like I was there, experiencing every moment alongside the characters. The story was heartfelt and touching. It’s one of those rare finds that you want to read again immediately. A gem!

I went in with high hopes but came out feeling a bit underwhelmed. The premise was strong, but it felt like it ran out of steam midway through. The pacing was slow, and I struggled to stay engaged. The ending was somewhat predictable, though still enjoyable. It’s okay, but not as exciting as I anticipated.

Great Series!! .

I couldn't put it down until it was finished. I don't think I've read anything like it..It calls to mind Stephen Hawking's warning..Be careful what you wish for.....

A brilliant mix of suspense, emotion, and creativity. The characters were vivid and the plot was wonderfully intricate. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn’t put it down. The ending was both satisfying and surprising. It’s a masterclass in storytelling and well worth the read.
