Who is the white eye guy? How can I save the city of Coldharbour from its curse? So many questions, yet still no answers. And then there is the whole complication with Dean…
Man, I think I’m falling hard for this guy when I don’t want to be. But there’s no denying things are seriously heating up between us.
Evil is rising…
Lilisian, the beast Supreme, is free. Worst luck! I’m desperate to stop her, but she’s being quiet. Too quiet. All over the city, ritual sacrifices are taking place, praising her name, her followers waiting for her to fully rise to her true power.
The clock is ticking…
I have to kill Lilisian. There’s no two ways about it. If she’s restored to her deadly glory, she’ll be a threat like no other beast I’ve faced so far. But life is always far from easy. Lilisian has a pet that she’s about to let off the leash…
As a nightmare takes to the skies of Coldharbour, I’ll need to summon every ounce strength I have before everything I’m trying to protect goes down in flames…
Winter Fire is the third book in a completed Urban Fantasy series packed with action, adventure, and a slow-burning M/M Romance that unfolds over the course of the series. Follow the journey of Jake Winter as he discovers how to heal his shattered heart and find love again, while also kicking some serious backside in the process.
Richard Amos is an author from England who is constantly lost in the worlds he writes about, and the ones in the queue yet to be written. He also has more books in his house than anything else, and is never without a book (and chocolate) in his hands when he's not writing. He’s a proud nerd who loves to dance. Hard.
Richard writes M/M Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance, all with tons of kick-ass action, adventure, twisty plots, and yummy times.
Finally, we get some answers, and of course, more questions... but I now feel motivated to finish this series! This was by far the best book in the series, IMHO and I look forward to seeing the Jake and Dean situation reach its conclusion... someday! *headdesk*
Sidenote: THE ACTION NEVER STOPS! I am exhausted and all I did was read the book! LOL!!!
Winter Fire by Richard Amos is the third book in the Coldharbour Chronicles series. If you have not yet read the first two books in this series, then I recommend that you read those books first. Winter Fire basically starts off where Winter Shadows (Book 2) ended. Jake Winter is still killing the beasts in Coldharbour with his friends/guardians. In the last book Lilisian, who is a Supreme beast got free. Jake and his friends must deal with the consequences with Lilisian being free and trying to stop her from regaining the rest of her power. On the top of this Jake is trying to deal with his feelings towards Dean and his guilt about Michael. Winter Fire is my favorite book in this series so far. I liked Winter Fire a lot for several reasons. First, I really like learning more about the world, and there were questions that were finally answered in this book. Some of the answers surprised me and some did not. Of course, some of the answers led to more questions, and now I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Second, I really like the character development that occurs in the books. Jake has changed from the first book to this book. Jake is learning and growing from his experiences and from his interactions with his companions. Third, I liked how there was more world-building and we got to see more different types of supernaturals and beasts in this book. Fourth, I really like how fast I am able to read this book. I read this book fairly quickly because there was a lot of action and because of the writing style kept me engaged from the first page. I recommend this book for you to read. The Coldharbour Chronicles have gotten better and better as the series continues. I cannot wait for the fourth book to come out! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Winter Fire is the third book in Richard Amos' Coldharbour Chronicles series. Jake Winter and his friends are still on the hunt to kill the beast Supreme, Lilisian. But first he has to conquer her newest pet. .. a dragon. In his race to conquer and protect, he also needs to figure out what is going on with him and Dean and solve the mystery of the White-Eyed gentleman.
Action packed, paranormal story with a slow burn romance. I found myself anxiously reading, wanting to find out what happens next. The characters are amazing, with an original and entertaining story. The well written story builds a universe that sucks you in and you don't want to be let go.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
This is another amazing book in the Coldharbour Chronicles series and I love everything about it. It is beautifully written, fast-paced, full of surprising twists, has a lot of action and suspense, a great storyline and the characters are fantastic. Jake and the gang are in constant danger as they continue on their quest to save Coldharbour. They are always under fire and even though Jake's powers are growing and he has more control over them they may not be enough to save them all. I love that Dean and Jake are finally moving toward more of a relationship and that Greg is also moving on from the past. This is my favorite book so far and I can't wait to read the next installment in this exciting series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This is the third book in the series therefore, if you haven’t read the first two books, I would strongly urge you to do so.
Things are starting to get heated between Dean and Jake and about time too. Dean’s feelings towards Jake are becoming more obvious leaving no question whether it’s all one sided. Jake battles with his guilt and attraction but when he lets go, he can finally look towards the future rather than the past.
Poor Jake faces many dangers throughout and there were moments I was literally holding my breath. Many touch and go moments that left me gripping the edge of my seat.
Action packed adventure with plenty of sarcasm and a slow burn romance that will leave you wanting more.
In the third installment of the Coldharbour Chronicles we at last see Jake Winter come into his own, he has finally become Hecate's perfect weapon and the reason why she chose him is finally revealed. But before that happens Jake must take the battle to the Beast Realm itself, and storm the gates of Lilisian's throne room to try and stop her. After getting through some giants, a whole horde of piggy-slicers, a bunch of hyenas, Purple, and - oh yeah - a DRAGON!
This book was a non stop thrill ride and we finally see the slow burn romance between Jake and Dean come to a full conflagration. So so good. And the best part? It's not over yet... there's a book 4. Squee!!!
I'm not saying that things in Coldharbour are getting more dangerous but I am starting to worry that the population is going to drop to the triple digits soon. Jake is starting to get a real grasp on all of his powers and...bam a freaking dragon pops up. Man he gets put through the ringer this time but he also gets some answers.
Shiznit is getting real as the danger ramps up to truly painful levels but Jake just keeps getting stronger both in his power and more importantly in his sense of self, he is finally startingto heal his emotional wounds. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait to see what answers the next book holds, it can't come soon enough.
This is the third book in The Coldharbour Chronicles Series. What an sensational book the writing was great. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters captivating. The characters were developed and thought out. Jake and Dean are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, magic, shifters, evil, beasts, friends, action and more in this book. I can recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
This storey just keeps getting better, Jake is starting to heal emotionally and his relationship with Dean moves up a level after some anxty moments which adds a bit of drama. The over all picture of the storey is starting to make more sense but there is still a lot of unanswered questions to look forward to. Full of Action but intertwined with some lighter moments and lots of sarcasm makes for a very enjoyable read.
I think this book is my favorite of the series so far. I can’t say too much as I don’t want to give away anything, but relationships are progressing nicely, the plot is moving along (I am so anxious to see about Michael and one-eye guy’s connection), and I just love the characters. I will say that I think Jake has moved on finally from Michael, but I wonder what’s going to pop up to put a monkey wrench in it! LOL! If you like urban fantasy with romance, give this series a try! I highly recommend this book and series! I was provided the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.
I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion. This is the 3rd book in the series and another cracker which is elaborating the trials facing Jack and of course the perils of the beasts, lilisian and the white eyed man. The writing was well paced with intricate world building and just a brilliantly imagined plot that grabs you from the short and curlies to the very end. And what an emotional end to this book. I can't wait to see what happens next
The story is in full bloom in this book. Dragons, piggies, giants, Supreme Beasts. An entire menagerie of creatures are aimed against Coldharbour and out intrepid heroes, and this time were taking it to the Beastlands. This book is steeped in action and finally some major romantic advancements. Love all the characters and the way they speak and the easy references to culture and food. Greatly enjoying this series.
3.25/5. So this book was an absolute nightmare mess of names changing and inconsistencies and a mighty need for editing and proofing. It got bad. Real bad. And I’m still stuck pondering the mechanics from the Celestial Magic series that is set in the same town with the ones in this one. Regardless, it’s a story I like, and I keep reading, so that’s saying something when it sounds like all I’m doing is bitching about things that annoy me/trip me up.
Book 3/5 in Richard Amos’ Coldharbour MM Fantasy series straddles all the things Jake is coming to understand about himself, his magic, and his relationships, plus some characters are not what they seem!
Winter Fire leads us deeper into the destruction that is happening all around Jake and his core group, all while trying to save the world.
This book was even more incredible than the last! We learned so much more about Jake and why he is the one chosen for this task. Truly enjoying this series! Highly recommended
Oooh the romance is finally here. I love how blushy and flustered Jake gets with Dean when usually he's such a badass. Looking forward to watching their love bloom!
Very engaging urban fantasy. I loved the world building and characters that I could relate to. Can't wait to read more! Romance picks up quote a but on this one but is still a slow burn. The plot is also so engaging. Highly recommend this series.
Omg I absolutely love this series. It has amazing characters and a good plot. The story just gets better as it moves along. A must read!!! I can't wait to see what happens next..
Slow burn. Got some action on that front. I gave up on the romance. I'm not feeling it. But the world is interesting, and there is plenty of action. Jonah and the wale scene was my favorite part.
