Lord Theodore Masters, Earl of Casterly, has no intention of marrying. His life is that of an adventurer. But he cannot deny that Lady Daffodil is as sweet and funny as she is beautiful. Nor can help but wonder what life might be like if he were a better man.
Rex is a rake and a rogue who has sworn off marriage. He is the last man Daffodil should give her attention. So why do her eyes drift to him at every opportunity?
Tammy Andresen is my go-to author for historical romance, as I know I’ll always be addicted to the words she writes. Whilst I’ve enjoyed all her work, my favourite series is the Wicked Lords of London series. This series has hooked me more than any other, and most of my favourite Tammy Andresen books are part of this series.
With My Wicked Earl we have another winner. I was excited about this one, super eager to find out more about the characters and events that had intrigued me so much in My Duke’s Desire. Sometimes when you go in with high hopes it is only to be disappointed. Such was not the case here.
My Wicked Earl was all I had hoped it would be. It felt a bit shorter than the other books in the series, but it managed to pack the same punch. It had the standard wonderful characters you find in any Tammy Andresen novel, it had the great storyline, it had the entertaining drama, it had the wonderful chemistry, and it had some moments that had me laughing out loud.
In fact, I would go so far as to say My Wicked Earl is one of my favourite Tammy Andresen novels. Without a doubt, this was a brilliant addition to the series.
A feisty young woman in a bind, a sworn rake with a soft side and lots of humorous, heart-warming moments, can two unlikely people find their way to an unexpected happily ever after?
MY WICKED EARL, book five in the Wicked Lords of London series is another journey back in time where romance can be both sweet and swoon worthy, spicy and filled with page after page of wonderful character interaction and reaction. Tammy Andresen has created another piece of magic that sparkles for lovers of historical romance on the streets of London!
I’ve said it before, I can always count on Tammy Andresen to give me a wonderful, fun read with heart!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Tammy Andresen!

Another great addition to the Wicked Lords of London series! This time it is Rex and Daffodil and what a story! Rex is almost an enigma in that he had all the qualities of a marriageable Earl, but was a confirmed bachelor. Well of course he enjoyed his single life! Lady Daffodil is the perfect match for him and such a beautiful, strong and stubborn woman. Her and her brother have been left at home while her mother takes her sister Violette to find her a husband. Rex is to escort the two to her sister's wedding. This was such a fun story filled with humor and adventure that I highly recommend. Tammy always writes an entertaining story that will take you on a wonderful journey to an HEA. Have enjoyed this entire series!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 This series is awesome, I love the whole setting and back story. The characters are wonderful , their loves and relationships are so endearing, they involve you totally in their lives . Tammy books to my mind should be read in order, they run into one another and make much more sense. It’s a family tree of adventure and romance , resulting in a stunning series that’s not to be missed . Another five star addition to the group x I received an advance copy of this book and chose to submit a review
It was a short quick story, but I do wonder how are the novels written by Tammy Andersen, as it is my second read and it is again a novella. The characters have good premises of personality but as everything is solved rather quickly, impossible to really see real true deep in them. Rex the H is self-declared a rake, but why, okay he left is late wife behind when he went exploring the world but he is not responsible for her death from some disease, so that he enjoyed his life as a bachelor after is no more a defect than for any other man during these time. Daffodil was near ruined because she dared kiss a man, those times were so harsh with women, men can have their share of affairs but a woman is seen kissing a man and she is ruined. Whatever, because of one mistake, she sees herself as a failure and an out of redemption woman. I do understand she was bitter around Rex, but I would have liked to watch their relationship evolve from enemies to lovers with less rush. They have an instant chemistry but flipping the tables around them too fast does not give us time to see what great their change is for a near fallen woman to accept a rake in her life and for a rake to consider marriage for himself. After I do liked Jacob, Daffodil’s brother, Ido wonder if the author has something in stock for him when he will be all grownup.
Lord Rex Abelman, Earl of Casterly, has no intention of marrying again, he wants to return to his holdings in the West Indies after his best friend Theo marries. He's asked to collect Theo’s fiancee's brother & sister from London & return with them in time for the wedding. He is immediately drawn to Lady Daffodil who is as sweet and funny as she is beautiful. He quickly realises that the bond between Petal & her younger brother Jacob is strong Daffodil or Petal as she’s known to her family is young but strong & resilient. Jacob is also a strong character & determined to restore his earldom to its former glory. Rex arrives in time to witness Petal cremating a joint of meat, the pair are immediately attracted to each other. This is the fifth book in the series & whilst it could be read on its own I always feel the author’s books are best read in order as not only do they follow on from each other but they build an endearing community. The characters are always well fleshed & the story flows effortlessly. There's humour & the road to their HEA is so much fun. A short novel or long novella that I read in an afternoon My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
My Wicked Earl is a short historical romance by Tammy Andresen. This is a great choice for readers with limited reading time. Ms. Andresen has delivered a well-written book loaded with outstanding characters. Daffodil and her brother have been left alone while their mother and sister go off to find a husband for her sister Violette. Rex arrived just in time to keep them from going hungry. His mission is to escort them to her sister's wedding. Rex and Daffodil's story is full of drama, humor, action and a touch of spice. I enjoyed this charming quick read and look forward to my next book by Tammy Andresen. My Wicked Earl is book 5 of the Wicked Lords of London Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I did like the characters in this book. Lady Daffodil was quite resourceful and determined. I loved the relationship between Daffodil and Jacob, her younger brother. Jacob was trying very hard to be the man of the family. Rex, Earl of Casterly was quite the tease and had the reputation of a rake. However, spending time with Daffodil and Jacob had him considering his future. Both Daffodil and Rex has events in their past that affected them. This was a good paced, entertaining read. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I was so looking forward to reading Rex's story and was not disappointed. The characters are wonderful and you just have to love them. I especially liked Jacob and his determination to protect his sister and rebuild his Earldom. The story is well-paced and there is plenty of humor. Ms. Andresen has definitely written another winner!
My Wicked Earl, Book 5 (or 6 if you include the prequel "Earl of Sussex") of the Wicked Lords of London series, was about Lord Rex Abelman (The Blurb above calls him "Lord Theodore Masters, but in the book, he was Lord Rex Abelman), Earl of Casterly, and Lady Daffodil "Petal" Chase, sister to Lord Jacob Chase, the Earl of Westcliff and Her Grace Violet Riley, the Duchess of Waverly. Daffodil and Jacob had been left at the family estate while their elder sister, Violette, and their mother traveled to various places in search of a suitor for Violette. They all knew that it was paramount for Violette to marry someone wealthy in order to save their family from going hungry and losing the rest of their belongings, including their home. What they didn't know is that Violette had already made a match with a Duke. Rex had been asked by his best friend to Theo, the Duke of Waverly, to travel to the Chase's London townhouse and escort Violett's brother and sister to the Duke's home so that they might attend his wedding to Violette. When Rex arrived at the Chase home he found that things were not in a good state. Though he had sworn never to marry, Rex was quite taken with Petal at first glance, and she with him. Unforeseen circumstances occurred, though, before they could travel from London to Theo's home that put many things in a different light for both of them. There was a lot of chemistry flowing between Rex and Petal as well as a smoldering passion waiting to be unleashed. The angst and drama were mild in comparison to some of the other books in the series, but there was a touch more humor. Sidenote: there were many words used in this story that were not known during the era in which it took place. For instance, the word "teenager" was not coined until 1922, and then it was used in American English, not British English. The word "teener" was first used in 1894, again in American English, and the word "teen" had been used as a noun to mean "teen-aged person" in 1818, though this was not common before 20c, again only in American English. The use of modern language rather than words common for the time period detracted from the validity of the story, thus making it drop in the star rating and removing any possibility of it being added to the Keeper for the Shelves collection. Such books need to be accurate for the era in which they are written.
Tammy Andresen writes the most charming stories. My Wicked Earl is book 5 in the Wicked Lords of London series and what a delightful regency read. I always enjoy and look forward to Tammy’s new releases. She writes such wonderful characters and original stories that I can escape into another place and time while reading it, she is that talented. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone but I do recommend you read all of the books in this series. This story has death, rescue, protectiveness, destitution, learning to cook, a brother’s love, mistrust, best friends, a rogue, an invalid, scandal, secrets and love! I highly recommend this book!!
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
This is a great new addition to the Wicked Lords of London Series. It had humor, great family love and interactions, some revenge, bantering between H & h, romance and love. Lord Rex Abelman, Earl of Casterly was handsome, rich, funny & a confirmed bachelor. Lady Daffodil is sweet, loving, strong, stubborn & beautiful. They should make a great couple but what fun they have getting to their HEA. I highly recommend this book to all historical romance readers - Tammy Andresen has written an entertaining story with lovable main and secondary characters!
The last book in the Wicked Lords of London series ends with a wonderful match of Lord Rex and Lady Daffodil. He’s a rake and she is a bit bitter of men after close to being ruined. They both eventually overcome and grow from their past mistakes. Though she fights the attraction he is a savior for her and her brother. The shining star in my opinion for this story is Daffodil’s brother Jacob. He’s determined to protect his sister, learn, work hard, and rebuild his Earldom. I hope the author has an upcoming story for him.
Daffodil aka Petal has been a cook, chambermaid and House keeper since her sister left to make a match! Rex has been sent to help them sort things out and get to Violette wedding to a Duke! Its hard to comprehend when she and her brother are barely eating! Petal tries to cook and their housekeeper has a bad sprain! Rex takes one look at Petal and knows there is something special about her! He doesn't know she has secrets! When Rex makes more trouble trying to fix the secrets well option are limited but what if they aren't?? Reformed rakes and all....
I love this cover! And as always in a good book, I wish there was more. Rex is like some strange knight in shining armor, swooping in to save the day. He is quite a handy guy to have around. Even in the kitchen. Daffodil is a woman doing her best to make things work for her and her brother. And as much as I liked her, I think I liked the younger brother even more. His character really lent to the story.
Rex is asked to bring Violettes sister and brother back for her wedding. When he arrives at the house with no servants he finds Jacob and Daffodil in the kitchen filled with smoke. As he carries Daffodil to the sitting room he feels that she fits perfect into his arms. Rex tells them why he is there but they can’t leave just yet. Rex helps them over the next several days with food, cooking, chores, staffing etc and of course falling in love with Daffodil aka Petal. Another wonderful book.
I greatly enjoyed this book. Daffodil, or "Petal" as she is known, is spunky and loveable, and the story moves along at just the right pace. It's a shorter book - 15 chapters - but it didn't feel rushed in the slightest.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Loved Rex and Daffodils story. Also insight to Jacob as a brother and young duke with worries on his shoulders but gentleness with his sister, sense of responsibility and protective instincts n willingness to learn
This is another great example of a brilliantly written story. The characters are crafted wonderfully, and progress on a path to happiness rather speedily. This book would suit anybody who loves steamy historical romances, that have a bit of intrigue.
He was sent to escort her best friend's future brother and sister to their sister's wedding. What he encounters amazes him, and his life will never be the same, again.
