Two men at war with themselves, and each other. A desperate push and pull as they clash -And a secret past lurking in the shadows, threatening to swallow them whole.
Will Abbott is a successful lawyer with a whole lot of issues. His childhood was a trainwreck of pressure and perfectionism, he has self-esteem issues the size of Antarctica and he happens to be into wearing lingerie. To make it all worse, his law firm has just been bought out by their previous competition -Making Ethan Black -the moody, dominant and unfairly hot billionaire who just so happened to be his long-time rival- his new boss.
Things truly spiral out of control when Will discovers someone he cares about deeply got in trouble with dangerous people, and the only way of getting him out of it is to make a deal with the devil... And become Ethan's PA for the remainder of the year.
But Will soon finds out that Ethan has a couple of secrets of his own, not least of all the fact that he is an actual, honest-to-god Vampire. Before they know it, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another, even as they fight.
Will knows that this is a horrible idea, but he can't help but fall hard for the man he is supposed to hate and no matter how hard the distant CEO tries to push him away, he can't stop himself from getting closer and closer...
A full length, standalone, full of D/s, silk and lace and creatures of the night, with a HEA.
I love the enemies to lovers trope, and to include the humiliation of Ethan making a bargain to have Will become his PA after having established himself as a competent lawyer was unique.
This is a cross-dressing novel, and some may not like that. You have been warned.
I did enjoy this story although this is not my usual fare. The descriptions were very well written and the MC's William and Ethan made me laugh, cry, angered, and thoughtful.
What I applaud the author for is for providing very good reasons as to why William wears women's silks and lace. It is sexual but that is not the only one. Wearing pretty panties when he was young gave him a connection to his mother after she died. Mother was comfort, safety, acceptance, and love.
The cross-dressing in a way define the positive aspects of William and Ethan's relationship. Of course there are bumps, and a traffic accident to gawp at but such things are the foundation for something both men needed; love.
My only problem with the story was that the ending didn't feel like one. Neither did it feel like a cliffhanger. It was, 'well, you're good for me and I'm good for you... so... uhm... you want a beer?' This appears to be a regular comment in the reviews. Perhaps newer books are better?

My biggest problem with this story is we only have Will's POV so we can't really understand Ethan's motivations for his actions. Ethan ends up coming across as an arrogant jerk, cold and manipulative towards Will. Especially in their early interactions, there is a major power imbalance between Ethan and Will (it was actually a little too close to blackmail for my taste). It's only as the story continues that we get hints of emotion from Ethan and I could begin to see the potential for an HEA. The end does a good job of offering a good reflection on why Ethan acts as he does, but it was hard to get past those early interactions.
I enjoyed this book. The plot is good and it’s a little different than most. Would have liked Ethan’s POV too. Like on why he wanted to pick on Will in the first place, did he started liking him later, and his final thoughts toward the end. I REALLY hated the weird thrown in titles/pet names??? I don’t even know what to call them! The Raven, the Brunette, the Billionaire, the Vampire, etc. Can we just stick to their names or one nickname?!? It made it hard for me to keep reading. Overall, the MCs have good chemistry, there’s a good amount of humor, hotness to spare, and the ending is satisfactory.
Let’s try this again Will and Ethan are rivals and in order to get his brother out of the gambling debt he has with some really shady people Will ends up agreeing to go from lawyer to Ethan’s administrative assistant for a year. Accompanying Ethan to an event Will gets drunk when he’s not supposed to be drinking and Ethan saves him from this woman who he will later find out was a vampire. This story has ups and downs mixed with a vampire stalker who wants Ethan all to her self.

I loved the characters of Will and Ethan. Despite being a successful lawyer, Will has huge self-esteem problems, and a lingerie fetish, then he becomes the employee of his rival (Ethan) through a corporate buy-out. Will and Ethan fight each other and their inexplicable attraction to each other, but can they resist. Will Will submit, and will Ethan give in and Dominate Will? Great characters, interesting plot, and a little lace make for an enjoyable story.

He has a lot of problems but things have just got worse when his enemy becomes his new boss after buying the firm he works for. They are now his boss. There is an issue with a loved one and it is dangerous. He ends up having to make a deal with the devil, his new boss. He finds out they are a vampire and he gets pulled closer to them. What will happen? See what will happen

Ethan and Will's story is pleasant enough, this was my first vampire romance book and I expected a bit more 'Buffy' action - sadly no. It centres on their romance and love: hate relationship. A few additional characters to add a bit of intrigue. Easy read.
