Another brilliant book from this author! I have officially finished all of this author's novels and I am hoping that he shall be coming out with a new novel very soon! This book, like the others, made me fall in love with Maltese literature more and it made me more aware of how much emotion can be expressed through it. This book helped me to get an idea of what life was like during the time of my grandparents and, even though it was a hard and laborious life they lived, it was also one of great love and courage as this author vividly portrays through his characters! Gabriel and Rozina were another fantastic couple and my heart breaks that they did not have the chance to live out their wonderful romance together. Nevertheless, this book had a very original and unique plot that I had never read about and that I thoroughly enjoyed! It was very interesting to have a ghost as the main narrator and I enjoyed how the story moved among through the different family members and we got to see how the same place changed over the course of many years and even war!
