Examines in simple text and illustrations a variety of situations that cause varying degrees of emotional or physical trauma and how to deal with each.
This book is a great read for anyone especially young children who have questions about a lot of things like divorce, traumatic things that can happen in a child's life or death. This book would also work really well with a visual learner as the picture describes the different scenarios that cause trauma.
The book was all cartoon like, but it was very easy to follow along with the scenario they were talking about. Each scenario is talked about, discussed on how to deal with it but doesn't go into too horrific details which may make children afraid to face these traumas. I think a child should read this book at a time when a parent thinks they are ready, if a child is facing any of these scenarios it could be a good time or if they have questions about any of them too.
I also really enjoyed the illustrations as though even the topic being talked about was sad the pictures to go along with it showed a brighter side to the story.
Such a great book for kids and adults to read together!! Joy Berry has a wonderful way of bringing things to a kids level to help them understand things better. Sometimes as an adult we forget kids see and process the world differently than us.
Beautifully illustrated to help kids pay attention while learning valuable life lessons!
This series is wonderful for any home or classroom! I want them for he community center where I work!! I am also thrilled they are being made available as ebooks!!
