This book has a lot of great gospel teachings from President Wilford Woodruff. His teaching really focuses on the plain and simple fundamentals of the gospel and he is very plainspoken and direct. His teachings are very edifying and his life story and examples are remarkable. I found this book really good and I am glad I took the time to read it.

An inspiring collection of teachings from an inspiring individual. He wanted to study the classics at the renowned universities of the East coast, but his life's experience took him instead to the western Frontiers and then throughout the great cities of the world.

This was the most interesting book in the Presidents series that I have read so far. I hadn't heard too much from Pres. Wilford Woodruff. One thing that amazed me was that his personal journal served as the only witness on many happenings of the Church.
Pres. Woodruff was the 4th president of the Church. It was he that gave the Manifesto in 1890, which started the end of polygamy in the Church. He must have had reservations in doing so.

What a good, faithful practical man Wilford Woodruff was! I appreciated his dedication and his down-to-earth manner which was apparent through the sermons compiled in this book. I didn't realize how many of the stories we hear about the early days of the church were truly derived from his legendary journals he kept.

A wonderful book in which president woodruff explains essential doctrines of the gospel of Christ but events of his life are reported to show how he lived the principles he taught.
