First love is seldom as easy as everyone makes it sound.

Lauren Miller wants to fall in love. She has dreamed of falling in love. But watching her very best friend fall in love with the man of her dreams and then have her heart shattered into a gazillion pieces has made Lauren question if this whole love thing is even worth it. When Wes Conway, a guy who teases her constantly and thinks of her as not much more than a little sister, starts popping up in her life, Lauren is sure she knows what his intentions are where she’s concerned—and they are definitely not the romantic kind. But how does a girl keep her heart from falling for a guy who is so intent on protecting her and being there for her no matter what?

Wes Conway’s life has been no fairy tale, and finally graduating from high school hasn’t changed that. Stuck working to make ends meet while all of his friends go off to college, Wes doesn’t see his life getting any better any time soon. Then, he starts hanging out with Lauren Miller, a high school junior. Thanks to the differences in their ages, Wes knows Lauren is too young for him to even think about dating. Unfortunately, she’s cute, funny, and impossible to not want to be around. But Wes can’t fall in love with her. He just can’t…

Staci Stallings returns with book three, Little Drops of Sunshine (The Imagination Series: A New Adult Contemporary Novel) bringing in two new perspectives, Wes and Lauren.

Wes and Lauren, despite all appearances, like each other, but neither one will reveal it to the other or to themselves. There are many reasons why them being together wouldn’t work: Lauren saw love fail when her best friend thought she had met the one she would spend her life with, and how wrong had she been. Wes’ life wasn’t a fairy-tale one, so how could his dream of being with Lauren come true? But the most important reason is age. Though they are only a few years apart, and it was last year when he was in high school, age told them, no, don’t go for it.

The new perspectives in this third installment was a refreshing read. After learning about Wes and Lauren through the eyes of their friends, Nelson and Paige, in the previous books, I was eager to read about their stories and was not disappointed. Reading this book, Wes’ and Lauren’s story reveals there is more to a person than what they allow you to see. The characters show there is always more depth behind a person’s smile, frown, laughter, or quietness.

In this book, the series’ title comes to life by expressing how your imagination can be a reality. Whether it’s pursuing a career or being more courageous in your self-identity. Having an imagination isn’t a limitation, but it causes you and your reality to be limitless. In their journey, limitless is exactly what Wes and Lauren become, bringing Little Drops of Sunshine along the way.

Slow going

It took me awhile to get into this book. It starts off slow and sometimes annoying. But I hate not giving every book I read a chance, so I kept reading. 600 pages seemed way too many for "boy likes girl" and " girl likes boy" but both are too scared to admit it story line

I did like the church parts which I felt could have been a couple more of, but man, I felt like I would never get to the end! I did finish and wish all good luck when reading

Little Drops of Sunshine
On the surface this is a love story between two young people. Deeper, you find a group of young people discovering who they are and the messages there are pertinent to everyone at any age. My copy had many highlighted sections. I'll read it again when the whole series is complete.

Clean read

Love these books as a chart m myself I dislike reading some books, too raunchy. Staci's books are clean have a lot of words of wisdom that I copy in notes to save lots about God's grace. Words to ponder hear and reflect how lives are intertwined. The "butterfly effect" great analogy.

I have not read the other stories before this book in the series, but the story was beautiful while developing characters for the next story too. A little slow but the happily ever after at the end was beautifully brought out.

Too many details

This book seemed to go on forever. Every single conversation documented in excruciating detail. Over the top drama. Too long!

This series really drew me in and I couldn't put it down. The characters became friends and I can't wait for the next book, the last I presume. The only problem I have is that the girls are so young. Being a Brit I find this a bit questionable. However I highly recommend the whole series.
