When asked if I want to read an ARC by Hettie Ivers,
description
Ok, let me be honest, I am not much of a runner, so really I swag wog.
description

I picked up this book with literally no idea what I was going to venture into. I was 100% sure this was a fantasy/shifter PNR.

I was deceived.

I know Hettie can write some good shifter books, what I didn’t know was that Hettie can write great romance books. I shit you not, I was waiting for Mason to turn into a werewolf or Scott to prance on Chandra. Hell, I even thought maybe Liza would be the one to shake shit up. But nope, it was a 25k word romance, and I was not let down.

Hettie is like a blind kid at recess when it comes to her puns, one liners, and humor, she don’t play.
Feinstein, Cummings, Weiner & Cox

I see what you did there and I am good with it.

If Hettie was one of her characters, I could see her being Liza. Maybe this was how her and her husband met?? Huh, I kinda sound like a conspiracy theorist.
description
Mason hires a company that Liza works at. Four weeks into their partnership, they have yet to acknowledge their crushes (yes, I used the word crush – maybe I should say lust).
Until one night.
With NDAs, contracts and a mission to lose some clothing, Liza and Mason’s relationship unfolds.

Another great read from Hettie!

I received this story as an ARC.

Whew!!
Hettie Ivers' new novella Boundaries will have you seeking your own "hot sex buffet"!

Liza and Mason meet each other in the workplace. Both battle feelings for each other but fight it for their individual personal reasons. Mason can't ignore his feelings anymore and makes some mistakes that lead them to a more genuine relationship. Lucky for us that includes some hilarious situations and enviable coupling.

I'm always torn when reading novellas as I'm greedy and I want more. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the anthology.

Whenever Hettie Ivers comes up I know I’m going to be all over whatever she has written. So of course when an ARC pops into my email I’m ecstatic to read it. There definitely needs to be more of these characters in my life so I’m excited to see what she creates when she makes Boundaries a full length book. I can tell you right now that Chandra needs her own book! Do you hear me Hettie? GIVE CHANDRA AND SCOTT A BOOK! Please 😬 There was a particular scene between Chandra and Mason’s best friend Scott that was absolutely hilarious! Within the first page I spit my drink out when I read the full name of the company Liza works for FCWC. Hettie knows how to perfectly pair the right amount of heat and humor in a story. An excellent add to this anthology!

I read the novella Boundaries by Hettie Ivers from this anthology and loved it. I really, really identified with the heroine, Liza, in so many ways - super specific ones even - that her character really resonates with me. And Mason - every woman dreams of a man who takes their partners needs so seriously and attentively. Their friends have a great presence and crackling chemistry in what little we see of them too. There are also some really fabulous sections in Chapter 10 that are so eloquently put - I could never dream to express myself in such an amazing way! I love how this author weaves humor into her work - it's not a comedic romance, but the books and movies I enjoy most are the serious or dramatic ones that utilize humor throughout, just like Ms. Ivers does in everything I have read of hers so far. The only thing that would make this novella better would be if it was expanded into a full length book - and all of the elements are there for this to happen, with it at times feeling like a movie cut for time - so I hope the author feels inspired to do this. The story is great as it is if you accept it is a novella - but as with any thing you enjoy this much, you only want more of it.
4.5 Stars
I received a free copy of this novella from the anthology, and have not read the other stories

Review of: Boundaries by Hettie Ivers.

Hettie Ivers and the Office Rom-Com make an outstanding merger!

Liza Dunham is a junior assistant at a corporate law firm that is facilitating the latest acquisition by Mason Van Doren. While they each pretend to be unaffected by the other, they’ve been starring in each other’s masturbatory fantasies. But, non-fraternization policies exist and boundaries have to be respected. This premise makes for a ideal opportunity to introduce some creative paperwork!

I look forward to Hettie’s books because I love her silly sense of humour. When I saw the name of the law firm on page 1, “Feinstein, Cummings, Weiner, and Cox,” I knew that I wouldn’t be disappointed.

Mason chooses the night of FCWC’s celebratory closing party to make his move. When his attempt at humour backfires on the both of them, Liza covers up with a nerdy/awkward jab in the gut, and then a second one, finally giving in and splaying her fingers all over his abs. “Are you wearing a bulletproof vest?” Way to go! Getting me to drool over the hero while chuckling over the slapstick!

The light tone remains even when the heavy stuff gets introduced. Yes, there is a sex contract by the end of the night but don’t make the same mistake that Liza did and assume that you know what’s in it! “Yeah, okay. I saw the movie. Who didn’t! But I never read the books!” Will she, or will she not, need a safe word? No spoilers, but let’s just say the answer is obvious. (Heeheehee!)

Hettie also populates this little novella with a witty supporting cast that is begging for their own story. When Mason sends his second-in-command, Scott, to Liza’s apartment for some post-party parley, he encounters the beautiful but prickly roommate, Chandra. That scene was just absolutely priceless!! PRICELESS!!

I was thoroughly captivated by this ARC. Highly recommended.

I was honored to receive this story as an ARC.

First things first, I think it is safe to say I'm never going to complete a Hettie Iver's book and say, "I don't want more, I don't need more." Because it would be all lies. LIES.

Boundaries is aptly named and this is just the start of the brilliance that leads to probably one of my favorite reads this year.
Hettie managed to write an Alpha character we never knew we needed.
Mason Van Doren is deliciously thoughtful, picture perfect of calculating composure, and above all else unselfishly respectful. I must admit I kind of jumped the gun and thought I knew where this story was going until I we got glimpses into his POV. His insight is what sealed the deal and honestly what made this story so refreshing. Point being, the idea of a man making the effort and having respectful intentions shouldn't seem so far fetched. Hettie captures this creatively, and quite beautifully I might add.

Elizabeth "Liza" is our highly relatable, chocolate loving, and Golden Girls watching Gal.
She is outspoken and she let's it be known within your first glimpse at her character, and I LOVE
IT! I couldn't get enough of her sass, poor Mason never stood a chance. The circumstances surrounding her character was so tactfully written. That in itself just shows the range that Hettie's writing has no bounds. I was wonderfully surprised.

To conclude, this is a story you don't want to miss whether you are long time fan or just joining ship. Hettie is everyone's type when it comes to relatable and well-timed humor and she bring's her A-game with this one.

A review for, Boundaries by Hettie Ivers

Far from the genre that I'm used to Hettie Ivers producing from that wonderfully inappropriate brain of hers, is a story that had me making an emergency call to my therapist asking if she could see me for a last minute appointment. I'm just going to send Hettie my therapy bills, one appointment is not going to do.

Liza, an intelligent analyst, who has fought to overcome a dark past, is thrown for a loop when she meets Mason, a confident, yet patient business man, who loves a good contract. This is a deliciously dirty office romance, that will leave you wanting more of Liza and Mason's story, and also wondering where you can find a man who is into contracts like Mason.

One click this box set collection, and check out Hettie's other works.

**My review is just for Hettie Ivers book however I'm sure the rest is just as interesting!!

Hettie does it again. She writes a flawless and effortless novel that not only captures the readers attention but holds it until "The End".
Liza is part of team working for Mason. She thinks he doesn't notice her or know who she is.
Mason is pretty hopelessly in love with Liza. It's hard to pick up on at first but he's words and actions shine through quickly.
It's not a normal office romance. It's an out of the box type. Something you don't normally read. And it's oh so tasty. Mason gives you something to crave and Liza holds you in...

As a fan of Hettie Ivers Werelock Evolution series, I wasn’t sure how I would feel when reading a contemporary romance. Turns out that this contemporary romance (I received an ARC) is right up my alley too!
This book drew me in from the first page. Mason and Liza are brilliant characters and learning some of their back story gave the book depth. Liza is an absolutely relatable character in many ways. She has history, and luckily she’s met a fantastic man in Mason. He is gentle, understanding, and incredibly sensitive while still being manly and sexy. He is every woman’s dream guy!
I cannot say it enough. If you haven’t read any of Hettie’s work, definitely picking up a copy. This book is short but sweet and delivers her amazing writing style to you perfectly. Her books have wonderful characters, wonderful dialogue, waayyy wonderful humor, and plenty of sexy time. I guarantee once you read this book you too will be a fan, and eager to read more of her work!!

*Review is based on BOUNDARIES by Hettie Ivers. Though a review copy was provided, this in no way affects my thoughts expressed in this review*

When the name Hettie Ivers is on the cover, you know you’re in for a hilariously inappropriate good time and, even with her first foray into the contemporary realm(no werelock sexy times here), she did not disappoint. With her trademark, sarcastic humor that is uniquely Hettie we have an adorable story of one slightly bent but not broken soul and a corporate nerd that makes contract negotiations the sexy new form of foreplay. This short novella just doesn’t give you enough of these characters but what you do get is pretty dang hot, just saying. I’m really picky about my contemporary romance just because, to put it bluntly, most of the time the “alpha males” leave me rolling off the bed laughing, and not at the parts you’re supposed to. Boundaries was a refreshing take that makes me excited to see Ivers explore this side of her writing chops more.

Disclaimer: you may or may not need to update your safe word after giving this a read, you’ll find some good ones within the pages.
Disclaimer #2: pretty sure we can’t hold the author responsible for any *ahem* ideas you might get from reading.
Final Disclaimer: You’ll be left wanting stories from secondary characters. I may or may not be planning my petition for these as I type.

*I received an ARC of Hettie Ivers' story BOUNDARIES*

Awesome story that raises certain expectations only to turn them on their head

After I read the preview for this novella I had to instantly download it and start reading. I find it quite difficult to review without giving away anything of importance.

Liza works as a junior accountant for a firm that is in the process of being acquired by another firm. She has been having fantasies about her future boss Mason. At the party celebrating the successful conclusion of the acquisition deal Mason comes on to her, although Liza wasn’t aware he knew her name, much less that he was in any way interested in her. Her attraction gets doused with cold water when he offers her what appears to be a sex contract of the type that Anastasia had to sign. Up to this point the story has all the ingredients to be a clever and humorous variation of 50 Shades but then takes a completely unexpected turn and is transformed into something more profound, although no less exciting.

I really, really loved the two main protagonists, although Mason is the type of book boyfriend that is almost too good to be true. I also liked how the author addressed a current, socio-politically sensitive topic and the way it was an integral part of the story.

If I would criticize anything than that it was much too short and had a kind of unfinished feeling. Hopefully there is going to be more about Liza and Mason and also about the supporting characters Chandra and Scott, since their first encounter was very intriguing.

This is an exceptionally entertaining collection of contemporary novellas. This set includes seven separate reads and is a great way to enjoy familiar authors and explore new ones. These books are well written and offer a enjoyable blend of heart, drama, humor and small touches of heat. I must say that my favorite of the reads was Boundaries by Hettie Ivers. It should be noted that for a novella length read this book packs quite a emotional punch. Liza and Mason's workplace romance will have you laughing, sighing, crying, swooning and falling head over heals in love with this couple. These characters easily touch your heart. Liz is smart, capable and strong; while also being wounded an vulnerable. Mason was simply amazing. He knew what he wanted and was willing to work for it. I think every woman in the world deserves a Mason in their life. This book does feature reference to sexual assault/rape, but it is not graphic and does not delve deeply into it. This is a book that will melt your heart and some how manage to leave you satisfied while still craving more. I definitely recommend this wonderful collection of reads! This is my honest, voluntary review.

JUST THE TIP is a compilation of seven contemporary romances by various authors. This is my review for BOUNDARIES, a little romantic comedy by Hettie Ivers.

Elizabeth (Liza) Dunham is working with her firm's client, Mason Van Doren, on an acquisition. They're secretly attracted to each other however, a relationship is strictly forbidden. But what happens after their business is done?

Hettie Ivers writes fabulous paranormal romance so I was super excited to pick this one up, even though it's not her normal genre. And oh my goodness, I'm so glad I did! I absolutely adore her sense of humor. All of the characters, even Scott and Chandra (secondary characters), are infused with personality and witty comedy, so fun and quirky. Liza had this sweet likableness, I was drawn to her skittish charm. Yet, in spite of the humor, there's a serious thread weaved throughout, an aspect of Liza's past that we get glimpses of. Since this is a novella, we don't get too much from Mason's POV which made me a little sad because I would've loved to get in his brain and understand exactly what the heck he was thinking during a certain sexy office scene! {wink, wink} Honestly, I would love for this story to be a full length novel!

Overall, this is a quick entertaining read but I do have one thing to say to the author...Hettie, I NEED an epilogue or something! I need more of Mason and Liza and Scott and Chandra, PLEASE!! 😊 Told from dual POVs with a happy for now ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Reviewing Hettie Ivers

I'm reviewing Hettie Ivers' novella, Boundaries, of which I received a free advanced reader copy.

Boundaries is, in a word, DABOMB.
And I need more than the tip.

This tale is sexy in a way that is surprising from what you normally read in the genre. The male antagonist is a) hot, duh b) single minded c) predatory (all good things) but he is also extremely respectful, thoughtful, and almost pedantic in the way he speaks and behaves. You wouldn't think such a precise rule-follower would be sexy, but he SO IS. And the woman he has his eyes set on doesn't know what to think, even if her body knows what to feel.

All this makes for a tension-filled 'relationship' that makes you squirm, and a plot that ties your tummy in knots awaiting the next segment. READ IT.

I can't wait to read the rest of the stories in this anthology!

I received an arc for an honest review for Hettie Ivers short, Boundaries. I must start by saying that this is not my normal genre I love ,were, fae ,etc but this contemporary by Hettie was great. Liza has the best inner dialogue going on it's like a roller coaster in her mind. Mason who looks so together on the outside can really step in it with the best intentions. This was sexy, funny, touching and left me wanting to watch these people stumble to a happy ending. We also meet some secondary characters that I can't wait to see where they lead us. Do yourself a favor if you like laugh out loud sexy romance and pick this up.

Add to it upcomming wedding (But who is getting married??!!), strict mother (But maybe she's something else also?).

-Review for Boundaries by Hettie Ivers-

I went into reading this book without reading what it’s about. When it comes to Author Hettie Ivers, It doesn’t really matter what it’s about. What I know is her stories are sexy and sweet.

“The contract gives you the authority to establish what happens between us. You’ll set the boundaries. Make the rules.” Wow right? That right there got my attention. Contract for sex? This is interesting and it really was. Mason and Elizabeth was on fire. Captain America abs, that sure got more of my attention. Elizabeth thought Mason was just some jerk, but she was so wrong. Mason wanted her and he wanted her to tell him what he could have and how he could have her. Their conference room sex, was so hot. This was a tease of what Author Hettie Ivers have in store for us. I can’t wait for the full story. Loved it.

Hands off his Dodette:
Anna an Finn's story! Finally. This one was written after my own heart! I mean, really, a geek with hogwarts themed house?! What else is there? A short and sweet story, about how sometimes you only see what's right in front of you, when you might lose it.

Boundaries:
This story has such a sensitive topic in its center and its being handled beautifully. How do you learn to trust yourself after you have been wronged? Beautifully written.

He loves me not:
What happens when the wedding planners assistant falls for the groom? Well, you're about to find out! A bit too long at parts and too short at others, but a fun read, mostly.

Playing the professor:
Cute. Nothing more. Could not relate to Mika and Devons story too much. But a nice read.

Daring hercaptor:
This one was short and.... stokholm-synromy. Only read if you like triggering stories.

Off limits:
A fast track story, with some serious tones. Read with a wine glass in hand.

Keeping her:
Really inspiring story about second chances. Loved.

I’ve only read one of the stories in this collection, Nicole R. Locker’s Off Limits but I can tell you right now about that one: wow. Our heroine here, Layie Duluth, may have broken (make that shredded) the cardinal rule of the girl code bit (much more than simply) going out with her best friend Priya’s ex, Gideon Roth, but waking up tangled up with him? As I said: wow. There’s a HEA here but it’s a very heated path with some real sharp twists and turns to get there. Totally fun. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. This story alone definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that just based on Off Limits alone, the collection is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

I love compilation books like this! A wonderful way to get to know an author's style without committing yourself to a full on series. I love that some of these are part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone! They were all wonderful stories! I can never seem to get enough of that hallmark style love except this is way hotter on the Scoville scale! Smexiness everywhere!

Hands Off My Dudette:
This is great as always from May. I've loved her writing style since I first started reading her stuff. I've not been disappointed yet!

Boundaries:
I loved this book! I thought it was thoughtful in the way Mason presented the whole contract thing. He was just thoughtful period I think...the way he conducted himself and wanted to make Liza as comfortable as possible. Treat her the way she should've been treated all this time. I loved it! I really like when you have a spunky girl character that gives the man a run for his money, but at the same time I'm glad he was written in a way where he feels like he's a real man. The kind that knows when to take his woman, but also know when to let her take the lead.

He Loves Me Not:
This was just insane! This was just a whirlwind of emotion...crazy, crazy emotion. I'm not even sure where to begin with it, but it was really good. Man that soon to be mother in law, she was a character you love to hate. Geez...what a nightmare.

Playing The Professor:
I loved this book! My only complaint may be that I wish this was a bit longer...if felt a bit rushed, but fear not! It does not take away from the story in any way. I just really liked how this was playing out and would've liked more:) I love how Devon is very mature for his age and knows exactly what he wants in a woman. That bit is refreshing...not messing around with tons of people you have no real interest in. Great read:)

Daring Her Captor:
Oh man, this story was a slow burn smexy. One of my favourite kind. Wyatt is just so stinking adorable with his attentiveness towards Belle. I love that her parents are just as adorable. Definitely one of my favourites. I am a sucker for Beauty and the Beast retellings though!

Off Limits:
I loved the whole girl code thing that was going throughout this book! Dude the smexiness was full on heat throughout the whole book. I also can appreciate friends that truly lift each other up and care about each other. Loved this book!

Keeping Her:
This was another one that was full on throughout the book! I love the epiphany moment Marcus had on their relationship. Very adorable.

Overall I loved this whole compilation! Excellent way to read authors you've never read before and they are just fun since you are usually getting all the same type of "genre" or "story theme" for lack of a better description. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves lighthearted love stories that are kind of like hallmark, but with some serious smexiness thrown in!

Boundaries by Hettie Ivers.

I am usually not into anthology, simply because I don’t feel like there are enough pages for characters development; but I was wrong about Boundaries.

Liza is strong and beautiful yet damaged; Mason is all alpha but with sensitivity. Their story will leave you wanting more.

I highly recommend you take this journey with Liza and Mason.

I had the honor of reading Boundaries by Hettie Ivers from the Just the Tip anthology... Wow...this short story brings a whole new heat level to office hook-ups... Mason is that guy...that rich privileged, love ‘em and leave ‘em client who knows a good thing when he sees it, and Liza is that girl ..that overworked, under-appreciated office junior who ends up on Mason’s acquisition list.

There is so much packed into this novella; this is not your average quickie romance: Mason is the kind of guy who likes everything written down in a contract and signed in triplicate where as Liza is more of the spontaneous type; not only do these two have diverse approaches to business and love but also they encounter some outside interference and more than their fair share of ups and downs on their road to HEA land..

I do love me some hot office romance, but what sets this apart is the humor.. like all good jokes the ones in this story are best savored brand spanking new, so I won’t give anything away suffice to say, in the immortal words of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, there were a few times when I nearly ‘peed my pants’... Anyway enough about me and my own personal shortcomings.

If you are looking for something to lighten your day and put a smile on your face, look no further than Liza and Mason’s story..then multiply that by all the other wonderful stories in the anthology, and you have a heap load of opportunities to escape to a world where Just the Tip is only the beginning of something so much bigger... I received an advanced copy of the novella Boundaries

Review for Hettie Ivers‘ BOUNDARIES: An Inappropriate Office Romance

(Note: I am trying hard to catch up with all my reading, and I hope to be able to read and review more from this intriguing collection)!

Mason Van Doren has so far managed to keep just how he really feels for Miss Elizabeth Dunham, a senior analyst hired by his firm, tightly under wraps, biding his time for the perfect moment to approach her with a special contract he could not wait to present to her. His singular focus on her has even made his business partner nervous, but not more than Liza, who has been secretly lusting after this daydream-inspiring man during their meetings and in her head. But when her daydreams actually are typed out and the. dropped in her lap by the star of her daydreams, will she be brave enough to take his offer?

Mason’s character is impressively one of the most thorough and thoughtful males I have ever read, and the conversations between them as well as other characters are fabulously engaging and delightful, from tongue-in-cheek names to laugh-out-loud antics, unfailingly whetting the reader’s appetite for more to follow. I love this author’s writing style, whatever genre she is writing! Waiting for Scott and Chandra’s story with anticipation!

Review for "Keeping Her" by Jordyn White:

There's so much love in this story! Marcus and Cat get their second chance, now that Marcus has figured out how to set boundaries and priorities in his personal life. Love was never the problem for these two, nor did they ever lack sizzling hot chemistry. This heartfelt story examines the very real conflict that drove Cat away years before, and whether Marcus is ready to show Cat that they can move beyond their past.

Cat and Marcus are a wonderful couple, and reading their story felt so emotionally honest, with a realistic portrayal of the subtle, nuanced layers of emotional responsibility that we rarely see in most romances that only want to show us the bright shiny side of love. This story will make you look at your own relationships a little deeper, too. Their HEA was well-earned and so sweet to witness. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A review for, Boundaries by Hettie Ivers

Boundaries was a sexy, steamy novella that held my interest from start to end. I absolutely loved it. This office romance was engrossing, riveting and heart-warming. As a couple, Mason and Liza had intense, out of this world chemistry and their steamy scenes burned up the pages of the novel.
These two were complex individuals who were supported by couple of secondary characters who provided balance to them. Told in dual POV we were able to see inside the minds of both characters which made them so much more relatable and likable.
This page-turner was well written and left you wanting more. It was so good that I wished it was longer. Boundaries was a phenomenal read and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of Contemporary office romance.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Hettie Ivers’ fantasy series and was excited to receive this book as an ARC.

I LOVED her novella! The somewhat shy gal struggling to navigate life and the aggressive yet sensitive man that thinks he knows just what she needs. I can appreciate the backstory on Liza and feel Hettie was able to delicately describe a horrible experience as Liza figures out how to recover and react to Mason’s attention. It definitely helps that Mason seems to be in tune with what’s happened and truly looking for more than a one night stand. As usual, her romance scenes are delightfully delicious and this book was way too short for my liking! ☺️☺️ I am hoping for more on this modern day romance based on character introductions. Thanks again for a great book, Hettie!

When I heard that Hettie would be debuting her new standalone story in this book, I practically begged to be an ARC reader. As always, she never disappoints! Boundaries is the perfect combination of witty dialogue, and relatable, easy to love characters. I appreciate how she does not shy away from writing complex and difficult characters who suffer though very real hardships over the cliche tropes found in many contemporary romances. Self love before any other love is the way to go, and I'm glad Mason was able to show Liz that. Speaking of, although I typically lean towards the bad body asshole type alpha males, Mason made my heart melt with his gentlemanly ways! Every girl needs a guy like that!

Overall, I'd say this story is worth a read if you're looking for something short, sweet, and most definitely HOT.

I had the honor of reading BOUNDARIES by Hettie Ivers...and boy will Mason & Liza
make you question your own Boundaries..and maybe editing & rewriting them along the way!! Mason, being a wealthy executive, can't resist the junior analyst Liza. However, she isn't sure about anything due to her past. Liza will take caring & understanding while Mason also pushes her to exceed her own boundaries as they explore their blossoming relationship. Can she learn to trust herself & Mason??
Hettie will leave you begging for more with this story...oh yes begging for so much more.
