Miranda didn't know about Irv's plan and she was ousted as Runway's EIC. Wanting to get away from the chaos this ensued, she told Andy she needed to get out of the country and spend her last two weeks in Runway elsewhere. Andy had them flown to Canada to recuperate in a small-town cabin where they spent the following weeks alone together.
Having read another fic (Vocalise) by this writer, which I DNF, I think it's safe to say that her writing is not for me. Objectively speaking, it's not bad. However, same as her other fic, this one was also too saccharine for my taste and had Miranda and Andrea fall into insta-love. I wanted to DNF this one too but pushed myself to finish.
This fic had a very thin plot. The writing was too wordy, dreamy, and introspective. As with all stories I read, I prefer to see things happen with actions rather than having told that they were developing, backed up primarily with rumination from the characters. I understand this is a matter of personal preference though, so don't let my review stop you from reading the fic if you're intrigued enough. Others seem to have enjoyed the story just fine.

This is an excellent fic showing how vulnerable our favorite dragon is after losing runway.

What a wonderful interpretation of Miranda Priestley. I'll happily reread this one later.
