Emperor Jayden ruled The Empire for a hundred years, bring it its greatest time of peace and prosperity. But what happens when the Emperor, commonly accepted as the greatest Battle Mage ever…dies and leaves his Empire prey to other Galaxies envious of Empire prosperity? Can Jestin, his son and also a Battle Mage come close to matching his father and what happens if he simply can't match his legendary father's abilities? Who will come to the aid of the Empire then?
Well, this is another good series. Fynn is sort of a genius on the battlefield and he does some serious fighting at the beginning of the book. He comes to the attention of the Battle Mages and he's put into a training group, but an incident proves to the guy who is unquestionably a battle mage that Fynn must be too. He's also stunning, and Fynn prefers men, but little of that nature happens in this book.
