Arianna Miller tosses her luggage and her hopes into her Subaru and sets out to prove her talent—by decorating a Victorian mansion thirty miles from nowhere. She needs a fresh start and a break from painful memories. However, she is soon haunted by reminders of her past and endangered by foreboding mysteries. Christopher Flemming is determined to stop his father's crime spree, which began in nineteenth century London and now threatens present day Colorado. He must find and destroy the time-traveling machine that brought them forward in time. More importantly, he needs to save Arianna. Because of Christopher's blurred focus, Arianna finds her attraction to him untenable. She wants to help him, but he refuses to reveal his connection to the mansion. Everything changes when Arianna stumbles onto the time machine before Christopher does. Will her future end up in the past?
I have to admit that I struggle sometimes with time travel books when combining two different eras. But Time Twist was a great book, and the concept executed perfectly for my liking.
The book brings the 19th and 21st century together in the form of Christopher Flemming, who was thrust into the 21st century by his father who has a time machine and when things got too hot to handle for his father's crime spree he brought is family into the future. After certain event Christopher leaves his family and begins to get accustomed with the ways of the 21st century vowing to rescue his mother and siblings from his father.
A Mr Somers has hired Arianna Miller to decorate a Victorian style mansion, which she jumps at the chance to do. She has a love for regency romance so this era is her specialty and she is looking for some time away and this provides the perfect escape for her.
When she meets police office Christopher for the first time she is taken by his old school gentlemanly manner, and they instanlin make a connection. How on eath can Christopher confide in Ari the truth of where and when for that matter he is really from? And can she handle the truth?
This was a really good clean romance with a touch of regency and time travel. I loved the concept of how his father was time traveling and doing major heists.
I do hope there is more in store for Christopher and Arianna.
Such a good book! I just loved all the characters, the main two stole the show but even the side characters had such unique and fun personalities that fit with their different origins in time. And the villain was just perfect! So much suspense and adventure packed into this great romance, a page-turner on so many levels!! Besides the characters the concept is so fun! Time travel can be so tricky but the author nailed it. And it’s so fun and fresh to read a regency type romance in modern times. I hope there’s more to come with Cris and Ari.
Time Twist by Jeanie Davis is a storyline that goes perfectly well with the title. This story is about time machine and time travel. But, I totally liked how the author presents a beautiful twist to the story about a man traveling back into time to commit crimes. This definitely is a unique, interesting and totally new plotline of all the time travel stories I’ve ever read. Coming to the story, Arianna, the female lead, is an interior designer who takes a prestigious job of designing a Victorian style mansion in Pueblo for a rich man named Mr. Somers. Christopher is a police officer in Pueblo who meets Arianna under strange circumstances. They strike a connection immediately. Arianna finds Christopher very nice, and gentlemanly, like someone from old school. Mr. Somers brings his entire family from 19th century to 21st century in his time machine to escape a big fraud. Christopher turns out to be his son and eagerly waiting to rescue his mother, brother and sister from his abusive father. The struggle of the 19th-century people trying to sustain in the 21st century is explained well. It is not very elaborated but it is just apt. Christopher struggling all alone to keep his secrets to himself, not being able to share with colleagues or any friends, breaks my heart. Arianna is a strong woman who is hard working and very much independent. She tries to help Somers’ family and rescue them. I like how Mr. Somers’ daughter and Arianna communicate through a journal to maintain their communication a secret. Another best thing I enjoyed about this book is the detailing of the mansion, the paintings and other antique pieces that are decorated in the house. The balance between the time where the story took place is just perfect. The characters are well built. I liked the pace of the story. This book is an easy read and I recommend it to everyone from teenagers to older readers. This has definitely become my favorite among the time traveling books I read so far.
Time twist is an amazing book about a girls named Ari that goes to decorate I big house for a mean man and his family, While she is there she meets the dashing Christopher and instantly falls in like with his charming smile and old fashioned manners. But Christopher has a secret connection to the family of the big house and it could put Ari in grave danger if she ever finds it out.
Christopher has to find who he is through this journey. He has a hard and confusing past, now he is in the light and has to find a place for himself. Christopher stops himself from doing things because of his past often in this book and cannot find what he whats at first, then Ari comes and he finds out. This is important because it shows that Part of the story was influenced by Christopher hesitancy because of he cannot find who he is. It also shows that The people around use can influence who we are.
I loved this book, it grabs you and holds you fast as you go through the thrilling adventure with you favorite characters. You will be on you toes until the end and really enjoy it!
I won a copy of this book from the Summer Book Trek! It is a fun romantic thriller with a twist of time travel. Ari tries to forget the tragedy in her past by throwing herself into her work as an interior decorator, and reading Regency romances in her spare time. Christopher uses his police work to keep tabs on his estranged family and their very big secret. When Ari begins working for his family, he knows she's in danger, but she'd never believe why. The agonizing refusal to communicate between pertinent parties is one of my least favorite features of romance novels, but in this story Christopher really does have a good reason. Beside that, Christopher is pretty much too good to be true, while the bad guy is unbelievably bad. But it's an interesting story, and exciting toward the end, and I'm glad I got to read it.
Very fun and interesting story. I loved the characters. They are well developed and I found myself pulled into their stories and backgrounds very quickly. I loved all the pieces that are really pulled together nicely in the end and added romance is always a good thing. This is typically not a type of book I'd read, but I enjoyed it enough to make me excited for the next one.
Theft, murder, mayhem and romance all rolled into one. How does one fly through time and what if the person traveling has ill intentions? This book remains intriguing until the end.
Arianna is a young interior decorator who has just been commissioned to furnish a Victorian(?) era home for some mysterious clients--a dream job for a lover of period dramas. As she begins work on the home, strange things start to happen around her and the job she thought would be a dream come true, looks like it might turn into a nightmare. She enlists the help of the handsome Officer Flemming who is eager to assist in investigating the mysteries of the house but seems to be hiding some secrets of his own.
As a lover of all things Jane Austen, this book was an entertaining escape. I appreciated the time travel element and Christopher’s honorable manners. He is definitely what every girl dreams about (or every Janeite at least). Jeanie Davis easily transports the reader to her protagonist's world, making you feel like you are there. A fun read for lovers of regency/proper romance.
