What a fun read!

Mollie McQueen wakes up one day and decides she's had enough. Mostly, she's had enough of her deadbeat, jobless husband, her sexless scam of a marriage, and well, just everything.

Now that she's 30, she wants more. Her first step after telling Max she wanted a divorce (which he brushed off and continued to play his video game), was to head to a lawyer. As luck would have it, she randomly picks a lawyer who is best described as rough around the edges and maybe downright grumpy. He tells Mollie her best choice is to choose a separation rather than a divorce, at least for the time being, since she's made the decision rather quickly.

Mollie's one hope is that she will remain on the good side of her in-laws, but one huge disaster of a dinner proves that may be a futile wish.

This book was a delight to read and has some humorous escapades in it.

I was excited to see a new Lacey London book was out as I have been a big fan of her other novels. I felt this book was a whole rank up from her previous stories and her writing style had taken a big leap and it worked so well. Unlike her previous novels being first person this was not and the style was delicious. I liked how we went on a journey will Mollie but not quite in the way you would expect. This is an evenings read that will put you in a great mood. It is thoughtful and reflecting, which I always love. I look forward to reading more about Mollie's life very soon!

DNF at 20%.

I was so excited for this book! I really was. I downloaded it from Kindle Unlimited, thinking it would be some light, humorous chick lit comparable to Sophie Kinsella.

And the thing is, it did have that Kinsella-esque tone. Quirky, unintentionally humorous female narrator facing some sort of romantic dilemma.

But that’s where it ended. That’s usually enough to keep me hooked but this writing was just not good.

1. She’s a teller, not a show-er. I can’t believe how many paragraphs upon paragraphs upon paragraphs I read of background and thought processes. Which is necessary sometimes, for sure! But it wasn’t necessary in this book. It made it daunting. I started skimming these parts somewhere around 10% before I just gave up. I was hoping that the endless flow of thoughts would end at some point but I couldn’t make it past 20% to find out. There was SUCH minimal dialogue in this book that I wanted to scream. She just told me a story as opposed to showing me the story and that drives me absolutely bonkers.

2. The humor, unfortunately, didn’t hit home for me. I didn’t find it to be funny, but could see where the author tried.

3. The author tried too hard to make our protagonist, Mollie, quirky and off-beat. And then she turned Mollie into some sort of high-up executive at a firm who valued ambition and hard work and work itself. Mollie’s attitude and personality made an abrupt change as soon as Work was introduced, and her behavior towards a annoying coworker threw me off too. That chapter was like reading a different book.

4. She ended almost every chapter with ellipses. It drove me insane. What is that about? You’re finishing a chapter. Finish it.

Y’all this book just totally missed the mark for me. I was not a fan!

I had no money on my account and wrote "free books" in my Kindle search bar and this was one of the books I was offered. The title seemed fun so I downloaded it. It is a fun book indeed! Very light and laidback but by no means stupid or silly! It reminds me of Sophie Kinsella's shopaholic series but I like it even better than Sophie Kinsella's books because Lacey London's Mollie does not get herself into so many stresfull and cringy situations as Kinsella's Becky. It's a fun read and I recommended if you need some light chick-lit.

I thought this was a very good story. It makes you step back and look at your own life, marriage, relationship and see that it is *give and take* with every situation. Two people fall in love and until they start living under the same roof, certain habits don't appear until you are sharing living space.

Fun read!!

I had a hard time understanding how Mollie, who could not speak up and convey her thoughts to others to save her life (or relationship), was a successful corporate executive. And Max seemed to have absolutely no redeeming values. Both were annoying, but their marriage therapy was somewhat interesting.

I liked the story but it took awhile for it to get entertaining for me. I liked the fact that Mollie was able to admit that she was a part of the problems in the marriage. This is the first book I've read by this author and I'm interested in seeing what other books she's written.

Didn't find any humor in this as title suggests

With an intro promising "laugh out loud romcom" I gave it a go. It's the opposite of LOL funny: boring, dull, no substance. I won't pursue any more in this series.

Wanted a fun easy read and this was exactly that! I enjoyed the light story, the easy writing style and the small amount of characters, so was easy to connect with them and didn't take much thought to stay on track with the book. Definitely a good choice.

There was good advice about relationships. . .just didn't like his character from her point of view and then it all seemed to miraculously come together in a mere 7 days. Well, God did create the entire heavens and earth in 7 days, so I guess nothing is impossible.

Easy read. Not really a "laugh out loud" kind of funny.

Fun

Would not say it was hilarious but it is enjoyable. Good lessons to learn if you feel in the same way as main character. Worth a read

well bummer! what can you say when all your experts have already put in their two cents worth? plenty. forgive the cliche, but sometimes, action does have a bigger mouth and better lungs. yay for the heart! If we'd just learn to think with those things and feel with our minds, we'd probably bypass the kind of messes Mollie, et al., found themselves in. but then, sometimes you have to liberally apply the manure to reap the priz-iest blossoms.
