Maz always knew he wasn't the best-looking guy in the room, but he was okay with that. He was big and tough, and he fitted right in with his brothers at the Westside Skulls. He loved his job there as an enforcer. He came from a good family, and despite some struggles overcoming feelings of abandonment he had from being left by his biological mother when he was just a baby, he really had nothing to complain about...except that he was lonely. Being average-looking wasn't what kept Maz lonely. He didn't need the piercing blue eyes of Dax Marshall or the smoldering dark good looks of his club's SA Bruf. He attracted many women...he had a secret weapon. Maz's first language was French, and American women were drawn to his accent. Maz could take almost any woman in the room home with him if he wanted to...but his other secret was what made him so lonely. Maz had the anatomy of a porn star, and one look at his equipment sent most women scrambling for the door. He'd almost given up on finding a woman who would fall in love with him and be able to handle him in bed as well, when Marissa walked into his life. Marissa spent most of her adult life taking care of her diabetic mother and she wasn't looking for anything other than a plane ticket to the East Coast and time to travel, when Maz came into her life. She tried to deny it, but the chemistry was much too overwhelming and the two of them clicked, over almost everything...most especially in bed. Marissa was certain she'd found her soulmate and Maz seemed to think the same thing too...until suddenly he left town, taking an assignment for his club two thousand miles away that might not see him making it home. Marissa wants to know why Maz ran. Maz doesn't want to know the old family secret he discovered. Will the star-crossed lovers find their way back to each other...or will the explosive secret Maz now holds in his hands, destroy them both and take down two families in the process? * * * Book 6 in the Westside Skulls MC Series. This is a Standalone Romance Novel but characters from this story, will appear in future books in the series. HEA and No cliffhanger. Intended for Mature Readers. * * * The Westside Skulls MC Series is about members of the MC club, their friends and associates. Each story, while focused around one main character, is not necessarily about a Westside Skulls club member, but the story is related to Skulls members and the club.
As always another fantastic read by a superb author! I loved the story from cover to cover and I was sitting on pins and needles waiting for the cocky speaking French guy with a wicked sense of humor to get his story and the author didn't disappoint.
If you follow my reviews you know I am a big Jessie Cooke fan as she writes amazing stories and gives us amazing characters to love and fall in-love and we never tire of re-reading their stories.
I loved this story from beginning to end and the character's were fabulous funny and a well matched pair and a delight to read about.This story had one of those big OMG! moments which had the reader saying "This Can't really be happening!" "Not Now!"This story also touched on a serious subject about surviving soldiers having to deal with and who are living with ptsd and its just a reminder to all that our freedom comes at a cost to others.
"I personally am thankful everyday for the sacrifices they make for us."
Maz and Marissa were the perfect couple and sexually compatible as Maz is a well packed man and Marissa's is the bigger the better type of gal and Maz has just the right parts to satisfy her sexual needs!The sex scene's were super hot, funny,sexy, and playful and I loved seeing who was going to dominate who? lol
For me Maz and Marissa were the perfect couple in and out of bed.They had amazing chemistry and I loved how they were able to work through some of the more serious issues that surrounded their relationship.
I always pick a favorite character and mine is going to be Marissa.Marissa surprised me at every turn .Marissa looks the part of a wholesome sweet and innocent girl but, underneath the surface she is a sexy siren who loves super hot sex in and out of bed !I loved her character as she was compassionate sweet,kind,sexy and not afraid to go after what she wants but, most of all she just made me laugh throughout the entire story.
Some favorite scenes would be the bathroom scene as well as the skype sexting scene. OMG! I could not stop laughing through the whole bathroom scene and thinking about it now I am smirking as I am writing this!
😏
I have always love Maz's character throughout the other stories and he did not disappoint us in this current story and I loved seeing the vulnerable side to his personality thoughout this story. Underneath all that funny sexy cocky playboy persona lurks a compassionate and kind and loving man who loves fiercely once he decides to give his heart.I loved how he was all about forgiveness and understanding and he melted my heart more than once.
Overall the story for me had the perfect mix of love, romance,drama,suspense and humor mixed in with a great cast of characters for us to love more than we already do.
Wow! Don't know what to say about this one. Some times in your life you'll have to make a decision that will cause you so much pain. When you do, don't forget to follow your heart. I love this. Marissa and Maz. Maz is really Zane but his road name is Maz. This book is a little bit sad but it wasn't enough to make me cry. They make sure a cute couple and they love each other so much. This was hard for Maz. When he was just a baby his mother walked out on him and he has always wondered why he was not good enough for his mother to want him. He had a great life but it always bothered him. He also had trouble with ladies and the bedroom 😬. He kinda scared most women but that didn't happen until he got undressed...lol. Good thing Marissa likes large things. A match made in heaven.
This is book six in the Westside Skulls journey. I have to say that Mrs. Cooke is one of my go-to MC authors. I have loved the Southside Skulls since the beginning and have really enjoyed the Westside Skulls so far. In this book we get to follow Maz and Marissa.
I have to say that we have previously meet Maz in the other Westside Skulls books. He's the one the guy's are alway's kind of making fun of because sometimes he forgets to talk in English. Besides sometimes speaking in French, Maz isn't your typical kind of kind of guy. He's not the one that women particullary go gaga over, expect for when he speaks. I have to say though he's a sweet, kind, caring, gentle soul and I really enjoyed him.
I really liked Marissa. She's a woman who has been taking caring of her diabetic mother for the past five years, while taking care of everything else. I thought she was easy going, kind, sweet, caring.
I did really enjoy this book. But I don't want to give too much away or as some may call them any spoilers away. I will say this there is a twist that I saw coming a mile away about seven chapters in. It wasn't really hard to figure out, but one I didn't really see coming until I started reading. Some may enjoy the aspects of the twist and others may not. But I did still enjoy this book.
I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!
***I received an ARC of this book for my honest review***
I just loved Maz. Sure he was an MC biker and a tough enforcer to boot. He was a guy who always had his brothers at his back and his sexy French accent drew the women crazy, but they soon scrambled away once they’d viewed his other, porn star” worthy, “love secret”. But Maz, unfortunately, was a lonely guy. Marissa was a sweet, young, dedicated daughter who spent her time working hard, dreamed of traveling and looking after her beloved diabetic mother. But when she meets the hot biker, Maz, and he offers her a ride and she thinks “why not” and decides to take a walk on the wild side, spice up her life a bit. The chemistry between them is instantaneous, it’s something neither of them anticipated and in bed, wow, Marissa feels like they were meant for each other, and hopes Maz feels the same way. But unfortunately Marissa and Maz learn that the journey to happiness can sometimes be rocky and unpredictable. Will their love be enough to hold them together or can diabolical secrets pull them apart. A wonderful story. Marissa was great, jumped in with both feet and I just wanted to give Maz a hug, he was a sweet guy, tough but caring and his other attributes were pretty awesome but that just goes without saying. Another excellent story. A unique plot that made me laugh and smile at the joy of story and contemplate the more serious issues. Very enjoyable, I loved it!
Maz never felt like he needed to be the best looking man in the room, and accepted that he was average. However, he carried around a giant snake in his pants, so he was still finding it hard to have sexy times that didn't send the woman running, even though his sexy french accent got them through the door, as it was his secret weapon. His life takes a happy turn when he meets Marissa, a woman who definitely had no problem taking his equipment on. She wasn't looking to start up anything new, as she's been spending the last several years taking care of her mother, so all she wants to do is travel around, but she didn't count on falling hard for Maz so quickly. As they are getting to know each other, and setting sheets on fire, he learns something that has him running for the swamps of NOLA, without answering any of her calls or texts. And this provided the crazy f-bomb worthy twists that had me yelling out loud. Luckily, Marissa is another bad a** heroine from the amazingly talented Jessie Cooke, so she didn't just take it lying down. All of that was already crazy, but then things got exciting for his MC, as they needed to help out another chapter of the Skulls MC, so action entered in that had my heart racing. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, and CANNOT WAIT FOR MORE! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Maz was an average looking man he had no delusions that he was model gorgeous.He was the enforcer for The Westside Skulls and he could have any woman he wanted. The only problem was once they seen what he packed in his pants they ran away.He was well endowed and the monster in his pants scared the hell out of women.A chance meeting at the bar brought him face to face with Marissa,and she would be the woman to tame the monster.
Charity convinced Marissa that she needed a night out and she wouldn't take no for an answer. They run into Maz and his brother Ransom and Maz feels a connection to Marissa, she is an angel and he wants her.When Marissa agrees to a date with Maz and things move fast for them,but neither can help how they feel.
But when Maz starts to put parts of his past to parts of his present information arises about Marissa's mother and it turns his world upside down. Leaving to do a job for the MC,he leaves Marissa without a word.He never wanted to hurt her,but its the one thing that happens. Can he find the answers to his questions of his past and finally have the one woman he wants.
Maz wants someone to love. Most woman run when they see what’s he is packing. Marissa goes to a club party and things go fast. She just wants to live her life and take care of her mom. These two characters are perfect for one another. Maz has to open up to her or it will ruin them both. Another awesome read by this fabulous author. I don’t want this series to end.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Maz has always had the ladies after him until he drops his pants and leave him and his "snake". When he meets up with Marissa she is everything he ever wanted and they are very, very compatible sexually. When Maz finds out a secret that could destroy both their lives as well as their budding romance, what does he do? I love this series and Jessie Cooke knows how to write a riveting story with relevant issues that seem so real. Her characters bring the story to life and leave the reader wanting more. Highly recommend this author and series!!!
This book has so many good things about it. It’s a powerful, emotional and hot read! The characters are very easy to fall in love with and you just want all good things for them. I loved how Maz and Marissa came together and how they were able to work together to solve issues and just got each other, in and out of the bedroom. This book had some adventure and took you to different places. It had excitement, drama and also some humor.
This happened to be the first book by Jessie Cooke I read and as the 6th book in the Westside Skulls MC series I was so pleased that I could read it easily as a stand alone book. I do however want to read other books now by Jessie!
This is the sixth book in this phenomenal series, and is Maz and Marissa’s story. Maz is a gentle and kind soul, who the guys make fun off when he unknowingly keeps slipping into his native French accent. Marissa is sweet and dedicated to looking after her mom. On a night out with her friend they end up at the club house for a party, and the attraction between Maz and Marissa is instant. No spoilers; this is a must read series, you will not be disappointed! This is a beautifully written story which is an addictive page turner throughout, and I was totally captivated. I cannot wait to read more in this series, and I highly recommend this talented authors’ work for all MC lovers.
Jessie Cooke is awesome and I've read many of her books...in fact all of her MC books.... MAZ is just as great as I anticipated I hated it took me all day to finish it but I had to work...lol ... The be all to end all came at the end... DOC !! Really Jessie Cooke ... Omg you are going to take us there ...WOW I can't wait😉
Maz is the 6th book in the Westside Skulls Series by Jessie Cooke. I have read all 6 books in this series and each one just gets better. Jessie Cooke has done an amazing job with this series. Each book in the series features a different key player in the Westside Skulls MC. But all of the other key players play a part in every book. So you don't loose track of the others, you get to keep following their story. All of the characters in all of the books are brought to life, they aren't just some words on a page. I really have enjoyed this series and hope it continues. At the end of each book there it is an introduction to the next book, but at the end of this book there is an introduction to a different series, so I have a feeling this series is complete, at least for now. I do like that every book in the series can be read as a standalone but I do suggest you start with book one. It really is a great series and you will want to read it all.
In this book we take a closer look at Maz. Maz was born Zane Zimmerman, in New Orleans. He was deserted by his birth mother as a baby and raised by his father and french step mom Elise. Being raised by Elise had more then one benefit. She raised him with French being his first language and Maz uses his accent as a weapon to get women. Maz has never gotten over being deserted though, and all though he loves Elise like a real mother he still wants to know why his birth mom didn't want him.
Marissa is a the manager of Target. She has been heart broken in the past and really has no desire for a relationship. Instead she wants to travel and experience life. When her best friend Charity bluntly tells her she needs to get laid, they decide to visit Spirits that night. Spirits is a biker bar.
After a chance meeting at the bar will Maz and Marissa both change their minds about not wanting a relationship?
Sorry can't really go further into the story. There is some mystery to this story and I don't want to blow it. But I suggest you read it. It as the best book in the series.
I was given this free review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Okay let me start by saying I love this author, and have loved every book she has so graciously given us in this series – The Westside Sculls, and their Eastern counterparts the Southside Skulls. This lady certainly know how to write a page turner. So let’s get down to it. We have met Maz in the earlier books in this series, and his personality is what shines through in all of them, he isn’t your jaw dropping sexy man in leather like his ‘brothers’ but this guy is just as addictive, if not for his personality then definitely for his accent, well that and in my opinion what he is ‘packing’. I loved Maz, period. Marissa is another fantastic female lead – definitely a thing this author does well, her female leads are not prissy and don’t need a man to save them, they are fierce in their own right and are certainly not a pushover. So that covers the main characters. As with all the books in this series we are given our fix of the men and women who have come before, Dax and Angel, Hunter, Garret, you get the picture…I love these guys..
Now onto the story, huh, this is tricky, I want to say so much but I can’t as that would mean spoilers, and I don’t do spoilers. Just know that this story has one of those ‘OMG nooooooooooooooo’ moments and argh, I so want to talk about that, I am still not sure where I stand on that, still a little confused.com but it didn’t ruin that part of this amazing story. This book also highlighted some of the more series issues facing ex-service personnel, and that really is quite hard on the heart and emotions.
Overall this book was amazing, and I would definitely recommend reading it. It can be read as a standalone, but my question to you would be why read only one when you can read all 18.
Marisa finally agreed to go out with her friend to Spirits, her friend was convinced she needed to have some fun, but Marisa didn’t want a relationship, she wanted to travel. Trying to get a table at Spirits, Maz meets a snobby blond, but when her friend turns up she takes his breath away and learns her name is Marisa. Having enough of her friend sarcasm he leaves, but not before getting Marisa’s phone number. After a coincidence of her mother’s dog being found at Maz’s clubhouse, she agrees to go on a date with him, reminding herself she doesn’t want a relationship and doesn’t want to fall in love. After spending the day together, they got to know each other, Marisa knew she was in trouble and couldn’t believe a biker could be so sweet. Maz knew he wanted her, when she didn’t run after seeing his ten and a half inches, he knew he was going to fall hard for her and he’d never had chemistry with anyone like that before. They couldn’t be more perfect for each other, until Marisa gets a phone call from someone looking for her mother, he can’t cope with what he knows and tells Marisa he has to take her home. Not hearing from Maz, she needs him to tell her their over and decides to take the trip to his parents to get answers. Maz went to tell her what he knew, but will what Marisa tells him change everything.
This is another Jessie Cooke story with a few twists and turns. Maz and his snake are an interesting place to focus the beginning of the story. Marrisa and Gregory are another interesting different angle for the beginning of the story.... I am not sure who those girls were who walked away from Maz and his snake, Marrisa and Gregory are an old story pretty sure most women can relate to some degree. Anyways... The trips that Maz takes in the story are kinda interesting parts to the background or side story of the MC. I feel like Jammer has a story that needs to be told too... The trip into the Bayou is interesting... This story has a few humorous parts too where Sledge uhm well he meets the 200 year old white eyed blind guy Pops... The Alligator who the Jokers have stuffed... The ammonia and piss spray to keep the gators away... The canoe trip... Yep there are some funny parts... The Ransom puppy part is sorta sweet too... Only one thing the dog he ends up with wasn't Annie which was the dog he found... There is a point where Maz or Marrisa is visiting Ransom and his pup and they are playing... The dog he ends up with is a male... But that was the only oops and it was minor. Love this story...
After the sneak peak at the end of the last book Sledge my curiosity about Maz and his trouser Snake was definitely peaked!!
I love this series, each book draws me in more and more. it feels like a family reunion with each book, add in seeing some favourites from the Southside skulls too and I am in Skull heaven
Maz is quite a sweet, romantic guy considering he's the club Enforcer, he certainly knows how to woo a woman with his accent and French.
Marissa is a sweet, young woman devoted to looking after her mother but soon as she meets Maz on a night out she falls hard.
In true MC fashion their romance will never be smooth riding but the love they hold for each other will be enough to keep them together.
Another great read from Jessie Cooke. I don't want to say too much and give the plot away as it could spoil your enjoyment. I am looking forward to seeing what she brings us next.
ARC received in exchange for an honest review from the Author and Enticing Journey Book Promotions
Maz wasn't looking for forever, just for a while, one night. What most men would have considered an asset he found was not until sweet Marissa came along. At an MC hangout, she seemed out of place even more than her stuck-up girlfriend. She didn't agree to go, but she did give him her number.
Marrisa was sorry Maz, the sexiest voice she'd ever heard, hadn't called even though she was busy trying to find her mom's lost puppy. Talk about two birds--the lost puppy was rescued by one of Maz's MC brothers who'd fallen for the pup. The signs she'd posted led her right to the MC, the puppy, and Maz. Oh yeah, and a date with him. The beginning of something special for both of them.
Their relationship is fun, steamy, and complicated by their pasts. Not gonna say what in their past is the problem. Just know it is a doozy. The MC has some backup to offer another chapter. It could be dangerous but that has never stopped them before.
Another winner for the book alone and the series. I love this MC and the characters from all the chapters. It is always fun to revisit characters from past books and see what they are up to.
Let me start by saying I highly recommend reading the Southside Skulls series first. You're going to love Dax and by reading those stories first you get to know the characters and will have a feel for the lifestyle that goes with the series. They are an eclectic group and each story is as unique as the character themselves. I can honestly say I truly enjoyed reading each of their stories.
When Ms. Cooke started the Westside Skulls she blew me away with Wolf's story. From the beginning there were fireworks and she just kept going from there. She's incorporated her MMA series into the Westside Skulls so you get to know them also.
Maz is a completely different kind of character. He is fierce, strong and reliable as one of the club's enforcers and proves that just because you have a serious medical condition it doesn't have to limit what you are capable of. He might not be a pretty boy among his brother's in the club but his french accent reels the ladies in with only a few softly spoken words. Now if he could only find a woman brave enough to tackle his package. Happy Reading!
This has been an unusual series, like the Southside Skulls MC, in which it is about the members, friends, family, and associates of the club. Both are fantastic series that I would highly recommend, but suggest that you begin with the Southside Skulls MC first. This story, much like the others, was full of excitement, suspenseful situations, lots of hot sexual encounters, angst, love, family and friends. It had some unexpected and intriguing twists and turns that will keep you reading until the very last page. The only thing that I have had any issues with during both series was that there've been several times where a person or situation was involved with the main characters or club, but as soon as the situation was handled, they/it seem to just be forgotten about. A few times a person was brought up in another book, and their story was briefly included, but for the most part, most wasn't mentioned again. It was kind of aggravating because some of them I believe could've had a great story all on their own. Overall, this was a great story, and one that I would definitely recommend.
Maz is a tough enforcer for the Westside Skulls He always has his brothers back, but he's lonely. His sexy French accent draws women in and drives them crazy, but they soon scrambled away once he whips out his "snake". Marissa was a sweet, young, dedicated daughter who spent her time working hard, dreamed of traveling and looking after her beloved diabetic mother. But when she meets the hot biker, Maz, and he offers her a ride and she thinks “why not” and decides to take a walk on the wild side. The chemistry between them is instantaneous, it’s something neither of them anticipated and in bed, wow, Marissa feels like they were meant for each other, and hopes Maz feels the same way. But unfortunately Marissa and Maz learn that the journey to happiness can sometimes be rocky, but in the end they communicated and were able to find their happily ever after. On a side not Sledge had me laughing my butt off at him while he was with Max in his old stomping grounds.
Maz is having no luck with the women he try’s to hook up with because he’s well equipped and it scares them. So one night he is bagger to go out with one of his friend and brother in the club. So they in up in a bar in town but when he goes to take a table for some place to sit some chick says it’s her table but Maz knows it’s not but while arguing with her a angel show up but Maz not in the mood for drama so he’s just going to leave. That’s when the angel comes outside to apologize for her friend he gets her number but things keeps him calling. But his friend Ramson found a dog but one of the brother finds a flyer of the lost dog. Ya guess who’s dog it is the Angel and it belongs to her mom and when they come to get it they make a date but something is familiar about her mom Maz just can’t put his finger on it but he will. So enjoy another good read and find out what the twist is!!
Maz won me over. We have been having some laughs from the previous books about the MC member who forgets to speak English but we never fully appreciate him or fall for him until this book. He has unresolved issues from childhood and then the problem he has finding a woman now. When he finally finds the woman he wants to be with things get complicated and he could lose her forever.
Now this isn't how I make it sound. Once you start reading you'll be able to see it but how they handle things is what I enjoyed reading about. Now there isn't a bunch of mayhem in this book beside what's going g on in their relationship but it was a really enjoyable read and one I would for sure recommend.
Ms Cooke has another outstanding book on her hands. I am blown away by the way her stories are unique and so thought out. With two MC series it’s not every repetitive theme throughout her books, they are one of a kind. She is one of the few of my go to authors for a great MC book.
Maz and Marissa are in a short list of great couples, they complement each other so well. Let’s just say Maz is “packing” and that scares most bed partners away. He is lonely and just want someone to love. In comes Marissa, to a club party and they hit it off. She just wants to let loose after always taking care of her mother. This author takes on an emotional journey filled with drama, adventure and humor.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
This one is my favorite one yet! Max considers himself to be an average guy finding himself happy to be part of the MC. He finds himself lonely so he agreed to go to the club where he meets Marissa who he cannot get out of his head. It just gets worse they spend more time together. Suddenly The past comes back to haunt them and I was hooked as they dealt with it. I love how real the diabetes parts are showing actual knowledge of the condition and the other issues were dealt with in an impressive manner to say the least. Absolutely amazing MC romance novel that I highly recommend. I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
I think Maz has to be one of my top favorite characters from Jessie Cookes Westside Skulls MC. He might not have the glamorous good looks of a movie star but he is packing like a porn star and has the accent to back it up. At first I found myself laughing at the thought of all his problems with finding the right girl for him that wouldnt run when they saw was he was working with but then after reading a little more I started to feel for the poor guy and was rooting for him to find that special one that would stick around.
It was quite obvious from the moment Maz met Marissa what their connection was going to be and of course since they had been intimate the implication would be there. I figured this whole scenario out pretty quickly so nothing was a surprise at all. I did get a bit irritated that they kept bringing up the "snake". The first time was fine but every time they had sex to me was overkill. Especially since this author overkills all the sex scenes. I scroll right past them. A few pages of them I read but when they go into multiple chapters I get bored and move on.
Not a great looking man but turned the women on with his French accent and good heart. Didn't fall for the many women he had until he met Marissa. He was lonely most of his life feeling badly because his mother didn't want him. Adopted by Elise, she proved to be a great mom for Maz. Twists and turns in this book six too numerous to mention will have you on the edge of your seat. Great Book, highly recommend!!
Jessie Cooke has hit the nail on the head again. You are pulled into these books so easily. The story is full of love lust laughter and friendship. Maz the French talking brother is brought to his knees by a tiny woman. She helps him realise that from Pain comes strength
I liked the stories in this book with these characters. It is like mini stories in this book. A very talented writer does it again. I felt sorry for Maz but then Marissa was the best thing to happen to him. Another must read by this author. Please don’t let it end with this one. What about Ransom?
