Misty Quartermain met Sean Crosby in college. One night, before they’d met, he’d saved her from a vicious vampire attack and after that they become close friends. He’d shared his family secrets with her and took a little of her blood so that they’d always share a connection. Sean knew Misty wasn’t his mate, but he’d always felt protective of her. A few years later, when Misty and her family were in trouble and on the run, Sean enlisted his family to come to their aid.
Grayson Crosby had always been somewhat of a loner. He mostly kept to himself but was there for the family when they needed him. Sean said he needed help to keep his college friend safe so Grayson was there for him, maybe not enthusiastically, but there. He heard Sean making the family introductions and came out of the kitchen. His beast suddenly had the poor woman backed into the wall.
“You said that she knows all about us?” Sean said that she did and that he was terrifying her. “Yeah, I know, but my beast, he won’t let me go enough to help her.”
“Well, let me help you then. I’m sick of men running over me.” Misty doubled up her fist and hit Grayson square in the nose. Then, when he was going back, she swung her leg around and did a round house slap with her foot to his head. He went to the floor in a thud, breaking the end table behind him.

Misty, a lawyer, needs help. Someone seems to be after her and will use anyone and anything they can to get to her. It's then he and his family begin to understand exactly what Misty's running from, now if they could just figure out why it and more is happening in the first place.
As Grayson and Misty spend time together, both agreeing to take things at a pace she's comfortable with, feelings begin to grow and they know their mating is inevitable. But someone else has other plans for Misty, ones that include her death.

Misty Quartermain was an attorney. She sat across from a fellow employee who, she felt, continually cornered and harassed her. She also had a brother, Alex, who was deaf. Out of the blue, Alex was arrested for hitting someone with a car and killing them. As hard as he was trying to figure out what to do in order for the police to understand he couldn't have been the one to do this since he didn't drive, he couldn't make anyone understand. Thankfully there was another police officer who gave him his cell phone when he tried to distract two men who came into the cell to do Alex harm and told him to contact his dad to come get him. That's the first person he sent a text to tell to come get him. Then he contacted his sister to let her know what was going on. Misty told Alex to run and hide. Their dad was with her and he had not received a call of any kind. When Misty and their dad finally find Alex and pick him up they were going to Ohio to her friend Grayson's until they could figure out what was going on. This story is filled with twists and turns with all the adventure I've come to expect from one of Kathi S. Barton's books. I can't wait to see what Fate has in store for Ryan when his mate comes.

Great Story, loved Grayson and Misty
Misty is a friend of Sean Crosby, and an attorney. She is close to her father and her hearing impaired brother. Has been targeted by Lester Jenkins who's father wants her dead. She has been investigating his lab.
Grayson Crosby is involved in a little bit of everything. He just found his mate in his brothers friend. He and his brothers are determined to end the threat.
Misty joins Ryan in his law practice. She.and Grayson fall into a.comfortable life and add.two tween boys in need.to their family. Have a baby on the way.
Chase and Emerald get a surprise, in expanding the Crosby family.

Another Strong Mate!
When Grayson 1st meets his make she punches him in the face & gives him a round house kick to the head to calm his beast. He fell in love with her right then & there.
Misty along with her father, Able & her brother, Alex are on the run from a man that wants her dead. Misty is a lawyer that has been digging into his business & found all if not most of his dirty secrets.
Misty has known about the Crosby’s since college wherein Sean saved her life. Now he was not just saving hers but her family as well.
This book was very good in it’s good vs bad plot as well as the family helping family out.

This family of Vampires always intrigue me.
They are just such great people and if you can get a mate you can't have a better one in my opinion
they do have the struggles like always and that's what makes it fun every time again
I really love this book and loved the teaser for the next book!

Kathi S. Barton has done it again! Grayson is a vampire and Misty a lawyer and good friend of his brother. Such great chemistry when a vampire meets his mate. I love this series and look forward to the next book.

Grayson and Misty are an awesome couple. I just love it when the female mate is not a pushover and the big bad shifters end up looking up from the floor. ( literally in this case. ha ha ) Misty is friends of his brother and she needs the family's help, Grayson was not expecting to meet his mate when he was asked to help his brothers friend but fate has a wicked sense of humor. The meeting between these two is explosive and funny. While there is a bad guy, danger and lots of drama, I found it to be an amusing story that made me smile and laugh. The characters were awesome and I love getting to see the Crosby ladies get down to business. Fast paced, filled with humor and even some education. Another great addition to on of my fast becoming favorite series. I can't wait to see what happens next.
