Most of the world knows Caina Amalas as the director of private security contractor Ghost Securities. In truth, she's a shadow agent of the High Queen of the Elves.
But while the Elves rule the Earth, there are still many wealthy and powerful humans...and Andromache Kardamnos is one of the richest and most cunning. When she needs a favor, it's hard to say no.
But Andromache's favor involves stopping a nightmare creature from the Shadowlands.
And to stop the creature, Caina will need the help of one of the most dangerous and unpredictable wizards she's ever met - her fellow shadow agent Nadia Moran...
Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
As always, a great story by an amazing author. However the read is too quick. I would love a little more drawn out suspense. Although with two great heroines I will continue to read anything in the series.
I am really loving the development of Caina and Nadia's characters in this series. Plot is well thought interesting no exciting inn the edge of seat. Brilliant author.
The premise of this book is a little bit dark, and not a little disquieting. No one ever likes to see newborn infants as victims. That being said, the “magical” teamup of Nadia and Caina (see what I did there ?) should give you some faith in a positive resolution.
Just make sure you’ve read the entirety of either the “Cloak Games” series or the “Child of the Ghosts” series before you start on this series. Failure to do so will simply result in you not enjoying the experience, whatsoever.
