Time travel is an idea as old as humanity. Wouldn’t it be great to go back in time or visit the future at will? Some claim they can but is this true or just fiction? Time. The innocuous ticking of the clock is a constant reminder of how quickly it passes, and most of us can’t seem to find enough of it. We try our best to squeeze more hours out of a 24-hour day, but we remain forever fixed within those finite parameters. But what if there was a way to free ourselves from the bounds of time? What if there was a way to move beyond the strict confines of the clock and experience past and future realities at will? The concept of time travel is always going to be a controversial one. Critics insist that it is fraught with paradoxes and inconsistencies. And perhaps they’re right. But even if time travel is impossible, what about seeing into the future? There have been prophets, seers, and visionaries all over the world who have claimed such clairvoyance for centuries. Were they all elaborate frauds? In this book, we will examine the veracity of such claims as we tell the tales of those who have supposedly entertained visions, visionaries, even visitors from the future. So, whether you are a true believer or a skeptic at heart, withhold your judgment for a moment as we escape the incessant ticking of the clock to look back at those who say they’ve looked far, far forward. The book talks about prophets, oracles and prophecies. They mention one fo the most famous which is Nostradamus. Cassandra is covered and the Prophecies of Fatima. One of the things that set said was that Rome will be destroyed by Muslims and the 112th Pope will be the last.
Here there is one problem: when some people say they saw a certain thing or heard a certain person but no one else sees or hers what they are talking about then there is always the question of whether or not what was seen/heard was real or some kind of delusion. For example, during the Salem Witch Trials the girls claimed they saw spectres tormenting them but no one else saw them. The end result was people being killed based on the things the girls said but no one else saw. So there is always going to be a question about prophecies of any nature.
Edgar Cayce is a famous American prophet. The book noted that he says in the future Nebraska will be the western shoreline. Baba Vanga is covered and then the book moves into remote viewing, the Montauk Project and then time travel.
MIBs (Men in Black) are discussed, the butterfly effect is covered and the Die Glocke, a Nazi device that supposedly could be used for time travel is also brought up.
People who time travel is covered which can bring up some really neat things like the person who said they learned Obama visited Mars when he was only 19 years old!
The book is fun to read but, of course, needs to be taken with more than a pinch of salt.
This book had lots of short, interesting information. Not all is believable though, time travelers, for example, but still a good read. The author has done lots of research to put together all the diverse information, which makes it good reading. He also presents the information well with correct sentance structure, diction, spelling, grammar, etc. Generally the book is well editored. I have read several books by this author and I am now ready to start on another of his series on the paranormal.
I’ve been interested in Time Travel ever since the sitcom of the 60’s. Time Tunnel. I’ve read Preston Nichols, The coma traveler and Titor. Einsteins Theory of Relativity was so much more than I could understand at the time. This was a great read. Thank You so much!
