A young journalist, covering communist Eastern Europe in the days of Poland's Solidarity movement, suffers a trauma that destroys his career, his marriage, and almost his sanity. He falls back on a long-time passion, and rebuilds his life as as a successful consultant and purveyor of wine. But two decades later, just as he finally overcomes the debilitating anguish of his experience in Eastern Europe, he finds himself being drawn back into the horror he thought he'd escaped -- and into the world of modern-day terrorism.
