Great book to read before travelling there! Lots of tips and suggestions on where to go/stay. Also gives a lot of history on the country and its culture. Love reading lonely planet books before heading to my destination.

I like my Lonely Planet guides, and this is no exception. Jamaica is a small island, so it covers pretty much all there is to offer, and it gave a really good expectation before going there. If you're familiar with Lonely Planet, you know.

I read these like other people do novels. Traveling is impossible right now and in real life pretty stressful for me, but reading about it satisfies that desire somewhat. Plus no jet lag lol

One of the few lonely planet books that has something for every price point. I normally don’t like their books because they tend to be written for an audience traveling on a shoestring budget. (I abhor low budget travel.) But this book contains recommendations for travelers looking for an authentic, adventurous, non-all inclusive experience as well as those who just want to rest and eat somewhere warm.

Reading this in preperation for my trip to the west coast of Jamaica in May. I love that Lonely Planet steers clear of all-inclusive type travel, though I'm wishing this volume had more information on transportation from Hanover and Westmoreland to Saint Elizabeth.

Personally, I prefer when the "What you need to know about this place" section comes at the beginning rather than the end.
