Keturių knygų serija „Pasitikinčios ir žavios“. Ketvirta knyga.
USA Today bestselling author Kat Cantrell read her first Harlequin novel in third grade and has been scribbling in notebooks since she learned to spell. What else would she write but romance?
When she's not writing about characters on the journey to happily ever after, she can be found at a taekwondo tournament, watching Big Bang Theory or dancing with her kids to Duran Duran and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Kat, her husband and their two boys live in North Texas. She was the first Harlequin So You Think You Can Write winner and a former RWA® Golden Heart® finalist for best unpublished series contemporary manuscript.
From Enemies to Expecting is the fourth and final book in the Love and Lipstick series by Kat Cantrell. The series focuses on four women who run a cosmetics company, Fyra, with each having a different role to play. Trinity Forrester has watched her three friends find love one after the other, and while she may have felt an occasional twinge of jealousy, she’s happy and thrilled for them, even if it means some of their business must be done long distance now. Company sabotage has had a dramatic effect on their bottom line, a case still under investigation. As the marketing executive, Trinity is looking for any way to get their numbers up, and a stint on a reality show is a desperate move but could be just the ticket to get some fingers clicking on their social media accounts and increase their sales.
Logan McLaughlin is a retired baseball player and current owner of the Dallas Mustangs. With the team on a losing streak, ticket sales are down, and he’s reluctantly agreed to participate in a reality show with hopes that the exposure will bring the team some good luck. When Trinity shows up a few minutes late, the producers of the show are quick to pair them together – the bad girl in the hot pink suit with matching hair and the All American boy will definitely attract an audience. With no choice but to play along, Logan finds he enjoys sparring verbally with Trinity. Taking the opportunity to play up an argument for the cameras, the heat between them sparks a whole new game. They quickly realize that keeping themselves in the public eye will be to the benefit of both their companies and devise ways to be seen together and linked romantically. But when Trinity ends up pregnant, will they admit that what they have together is more than just for show?
I’m going to come right out and say that I loved this story! In fact, it’s going to be a serious contender for my best of 2017 list. The contrast between the personalities, the banter, the sexy times, the recognition of kindred spirits who’ll do whatever it takes to make their businesses succeed – it all worked for me.
From Enemies to Expecting is the last book in Kat Cantrell’s Love and Lipstick series. This is a standalone book, but I think it would behoove the reader to read the other books in the series. They definitely provide insight into the mystery surrounding the issues with Fyra, the cosmetics company, and Trinity’s need to improve the publicity surrounding it.
I really enjoyed Trinity's quirkiness. I had to laugh at her choice of clothes and Logan’s reaction to them. Who would think a baseball player like Logan would be as conservative as he was?
This was a fun read that kept me engaged the entire time. I never knew what to expect from Trinity. I felt her pain as she divulged her secret but also cheered her as well. I was glad to see the solving of the case surrounding Fyra although I felt it seemed rushed right at the end.
Otherwise, I truly enjoyed From Enemies to Expecting, and I can’t wait for the next book by Kat Cantrell. She is one of my go to authors. I’d like to disclose that I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and this review is my true and honest opinion.
Trinity and Logan go on a reality Tv show to help get good words out for their businesses...they are teamed together...There is disdain from Logan.>Trinity is flirting and getting to him..They butt head for a bit but the faking turns into something REAL...They are putting on a show for the cameras but behind closed doors they are sweating the sheets up!!! Than there comes a bump in the road that neither handles very good...Luckily they work through it and come out stronger on the other side..A really good story..Catches you from page 1
I can never get enough of this author. The two started on a reality show and came up with an arrangement to help each other in their careers. The arrangement was to pretend they were dating, not to fall in love.
"Look in the dictionary under “opposites attract” and you'll find Logan and Trinity. Every sizzling interaction from the moment they first meet is witty, suggestive and fun, which is due in large part to their different personalities. Logan is proper and conservative, whereas Trinity uses outrageous clothes and a bad-girl image to hide her personal pain. The Love and Lipstick series has showcased the friendships of four independent women, and each happily ever after has been a blast!" (4 1/2 stars TOP PICK! @ RT Book Reviews).
From Enemies to Expecting hooked me from page one with its drama, emotion and characters. Kat Cantrell is a talented storyteller, and her writing is sure to have you craving more. I loved how the author incorporates sexual tension, sharp dialogue and vivid prose to bring her story alive.
Trinity is the CMO for Fyra, a cosmetics company she and 3 friends started together but sales are low and public interest is waning due to what appears to be inside sabotage and Trinity is struggling with a concept for their newest product. Determined to get back on track she lets their PR lady convince her to participate in a reality TV game show to help boost their exposure.
Logan is a former pitcher, now owner of the Dallas Mustangs and his team is in a slump. Ticket sales are down and if he can't reignite interest in his team there may be no coming back. Now Logan can't believe he's allowed himself to be pushed into participating in a reality game show but when one woman struts in 15 minutes late with a bad-girl attitude and appearance to boot, things inside Logan get twisted up far more than the clean-cut, all-American boy knows how to handle. But that doesn't last long when he realizes he wants to teach her who is really in charge...in more ways than one.
I got confused at first when there was no further mention about the show because I misunderstood that it was a one time, win or lose, game show, not a continuous reality show. I loved the growth in both characters, especially realizing they both were so much more than what the other first saw, and very much what the other was looking for all along.
I had such a good time reading this book! It was funny and sensual and a absolute rush! Two strong minded people thrown together by a twist of fate, both had one agenda, one goal in mind....to win. They never expected what happened next! It was explosive and so invigorating. I loved every second of it!!
With the final story in her Love and Lipstick series, Kat Cantrell brings us Trinity's story. I've loved them all, but I think Trinity was my favorite. Her connection with Logan is super fun to read. They tease and taunt each other and she's such a firecracker that I was smiling half the book! I'm going to miss these gals ... I really enjoyed seeing their happy endings!
When bad publicity and lacking ticket sales lead Fyra Cosmetics exec Trinity Forrester and baseball tycoon Logan McLaughlin to join the cast of a reality show competition to get their names "out there", little do they know how well it's going to work out for them! A fake romance is in the works and both of their sales are sky rocketing for it!
When what they are feeling for each other no longer feels fake, will they admit their true feelings and decide to make it real? And when an unexpected pregnancy pops into the mix, will it pull them closer together or end their relationship once and for all?
Kat Cantrell's final installment to the Love & Lipstick series delivers lots of sparks, plenty of sexual tension and an exciting plot which wrapped up the mystery Kat has carried (and carried WELL) throughout the series. I enjoyed it so much, finally knowing what was going on with Trinity's company and getting to delve into what makes her tick. It certainly doesn't hurt to have smoking hot Logan on the ride with Trinity. They both seem wary of one another and determined not to fall in love, but it happened to them anyway and how they least expect it.
I'm never bored or disappointed with a Kat Cantrell book and I can't wait until her next release day.
*I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*
Winning is nonnegotiable…and so is parenthood! (Marketing exec) Trinity Forrester needs PR buzz. By-the-books (baseball tycoon) Logan McLaughlin needs ticket sales. Their plan is simple: embark on a pretend romance to boost publicity. But soon their reality-show Exec-utive, kisses lead to explosive off-camera lovemaking…Trinity knows her fling with her frustratingly handsome costar ends when the cameras stop rolling—not with a diamond ring and proposal. But when their fake romance yields a very real pregnancy, will the emotionally guarded duo choose winning…or wedding?
This is the second story I've read by this author, and she's a hit by me. I really loved the chemistry and banter between Trinity and Logan, which was very funny. Trinity was a different heroine, and I loved that for once the man was the conservative buttoned-up one in the relationship and the woman was the more unconventional one.
