Over the past eight months, aspiring author Boone Daniels has seen his entire life turned upside down and inside out. Having survived a recent auto-accident and an impromptu proposal of marriage from his one-night-stand-turned-boyfriend, Wade Walker, Boone has finally moved to Summit City to begin a whole new chapter.
Having adapted to several big life-changes within a relatively short window of time, Boone has embraced the idea of spending the rest of his ‘forever’ with the man he loves. However, he quickly recognizes that it takes more than finding true love and relocating to make a house feel like a home.
As Boone and Wade merge their separate lives into a life in union, they’ll struggle to strike a balance between ‘the me’ and ‘the we’. With patience and perseverance, they’ll eventually say their I Do’s and get that happily-ever-after…after all.
Welcome to Ethan Day's Goodreads Profile. I write mainly contemporary GLBT Romance Novels, but who knows what the future might bring and what other genres I may dive into.
Hopefully, you’ll find my books to be sexy as well as fun. Sex and romance, should be fun! If it isn’t, then perhaps you’re not doing it right.
I hope you love my characters as much as I do. With any luck they’ll inspire you the way they do me.

Last part of the Summit City series written by Ethan Day. (I was dumbfounded when I learned about his departure while reading. He left the readers with great works but surely with a great void for his family and friends).
It picks right where we were left in Life in Fusion. In Sno Ho/Life in Fusion, we got the encounter, then, in Life in Fusion, we got the development of Boone and Wade’s relationship and now, it’s the last step towards an awaited HEA for these 2 guys that could look like opposites but who compliments each other so nicely and funnily.
Once again, Ethan Day doesn’t disappoint : enticing characters, whether it’s Boone and Wade or all the supporting cast, banter and sarcasm at galore, hotness, friendship, and, in this last part, a nice touch of tenderness. The pace is once again on par with me, giving a sense of comedy and of realism at the same time.
What a fun, entertaining and sexy read this series has been, from the start until the end.
An ARC of Life in Union was generously provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Will write a full review this weekend, but suffice to say, I could not be HAPPIER to have Boone and Wade's next adventure! I had to do a Sno Ho/Life In Fusion reread before I dove into this one because I love them so much and I wanted to relive their whole story ARC.
Honestly, in RL, Boone would drive me nuts and I'd probably have to punch him in the throat on a daily basis.....but reading about him and his verbal and mental flights of fancy are delightful.
Boone is back! He’s back with all the hilarious snark I fell in love with years ago in Sno-Ho, the first book in this series. Written from his point-of-view, we see all the great characters that Ethan Day created to populate the small mountain village of Summit City. Mostly we see and feel, because this story is full of feels, his blooming adoration of Wade, the insanely gorgeous, Olympic gold-medalist who fell in love with Boone long before Boone could accept that it was real. These two, Boone and Wade, are one of my all-time favorite couples of any genre. Boone is inclined to say inappropriate things to the darndest people. It makes Wade cringe a little, and it makes me laugh-out-loud! There may have been some snorts. Probably.
In this edition, Boone is trying to settle into Wade’s home. Wade’s home, Wade’s family and friends, Wade’s town. A town that loved and supported Wade after his parents were killed, helping him in every way while he continued to pursue his Olympic dreams. A town Wade then tirelessly helped, by using his Olympic accomplishments to turn Summit City into a winter wonderland for skiers and vacationers. Boone feels like an outsider.
There is some tension. Trying to combine two homes? There will always be tension. Where do you put this or that, unloading boxes. Stuff. There’s also a lot of fun...and some pretty steamy sex! The tension ramps up when Boone announces that he’s found a publisher for his book...and Wade didn’t know it was even finished.
That’s about all I can say without giving up major spoilers. It’s romance. You know it will all work out, but the journey is so much fun. My recommendation is to start with book one, Sno-Ho, where Boone and Wade first meet, then pick up Life In Fusion, where things intensify and we get to read excerpts from Boone’s book (a book I would love to read!) and finish with this one. I think you’ll love it, so start now and...
It has been a minute since we’ve seen Wade, the gold medal-winning skier and golden child of Summit City, and Boone, who should gold medal in snarkasm, now cohabitating after their mostly long-distance courtship. The story picks up immediately after “Life In Fusion” and follows the couple through the first year or so, over several holidays and finally to their wedding day. Boone’s sharp tongue once again relates the events of their life together, with his keen observations revealing more of the characters that surround them. Gabe has fortunately become attached to Skip the bartender so Boone still has his old BFF to smack him in the conscience once in a while. Wade’s sister Jackie is his new sidekick for some snarktastic conversations. I like Ethan’s take on sex scenes too; it can seem like a lot but it’s really just enough of a peek plus bits and pieces that make you feel like you got the whole thing without being excessively graphic.
Boone and Wade seem mostly made for each other but are very opposite in nature. There’s a few bumps in their road to happily-ever-after now that they’re living together, which is only to be expected but they’re mostly minor. One in particular was actually quite jarring, going far beyond disagreements or bickering and shaking the foundations of a solid relationship. There’s a strong message in it though and I’m pret-ty sure it reflects the author’s stance, as it should. I truly enjoyed revisiting this couple and the rest of the marvelous characters I’ve met over the course of the series. Naturally Dixie and Rocky are on hand often enough to remind Boone of his roots. Not only Boone and Wade’s relationship has deepened but Boone’s connection to the town and new friends has too. The ending is touching and tender without losing its humorous edge. If the stories weren’t filled with so much wit and intelligent humor, they’d almost be fluffy with a romance so fulfilling. Recommended!
*An ARC was provided by the author, publisher or a promotional service and I have chosen to publish a fair and honest review*
There were a lot of years between the releases for the first 2 Summit City books and this one, but luckily no time passed at all in the books. The snark was strong again with this book, and Boone hasn't changed a bit. It was great to revisit these guys, and finally get the wedding of Boone and Wade that I always hoped I would get. Fabulous addition to this series.
I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC provided by LesCourt Author Services
Boone and Wade are back for the final book in the series. This one was more of a collection of short stories covering an entire year leading up to the big wedding. And I have to say even though the big highlight was Christmas and the wedding, my favorite episode was Halloween. The gang takes the corn children out for trick or treating the the town. Absolute hoot!
from that review :"Diving back into this book is like being invited to visit family and friends you haven't seen for a while. People may have enlarged their own families, you can't quite remember all the kids names, and oh hey there Uncle mumble mumble mumble...but one hug, one (or a ton) of outright snarky, outrageous remarks accompanied by a oversized glass of wine shoved into your hand and you remember exactly why you love these people and why you feel like you're at home."
Life In Union, in which Boone and Wade get their happy ever after.
Once again the boys make interesting reading. Snark is in full bloom. Learning that moving in together has its challenges. That just because you love someone doesn’t mean there aren’t issues to be solved.
Sometimes Boone got annoying with his never ending comebacks and comments. The rest of the family and friends weren’t on their best behavior, causing mayhem and merriment.
Seriously, I liked the book. I’ve said before that I would of liked Wade’s side of the story once in a while. The books need to be read in order. I couldn’t imagine trying to understanding Boone not having read the other two books.
Ahh, the first year of a relationship. Living together while still getting to know the other person is a challenge. And no matter what anyone says, there’s still learning to be done about each other. This is where Wade and Boone are in this final installment of Ethan Day’s ‘Summit City’ series. I’m sorry I didn’t realize this book had been published before our community lost this wonderful man, because there’s nothing I would have loved more than talking to him about this very favorite couple of mine. It was beyond enjoyable to watch Wade and Boone make it through their first year together and down the aisle. Thank you, Ethan, for these men – they’ve always been favorites and they always will be.
A lot of Boone’s appeal, for me anyway, is his inherent sarcastic view of just about everything. Imagine his surprise when the longer he lives with Wade the more “feelings” he has – warm, mushy, non-snarky feelings at that. Oh wow. The world is going to end. In Boone’s mind anyway. *grins* Of course, several other traits of his which have kept me coming back for more, i.e. his sense of humor and his unapologetic viewpoint regarding his libido and his sex life, are certainly front and center in this book.
What can I say? I'm really going to miss Wade and Boone. And Gabe and Chip. And Rocky and Dixie. You get the picture...
As the latest in the series, this book covers pretty much every holiday from Halloween to Memorial Day and a bit more. It's the end of single life for Wade and Boone and they aren't done getting used to living together, planning their lives together, making fun of each other, and meeting the town of Summit City.
I have loved getting to know Boone throughout these books. He's been such a fun loving, witty, wise, charming, sarcastic, quick talking break from reality that I'm going to feel the loss of in my reading. And as much as I hadn't warmed up to Wade after they first got together, he's really grown on me in the last two books and I've loved reading his character evolve and become someone who is just so full of love for Boone.
There were so many great parts of this book that I laughed out loud at and I felt like this was the one that all of the stops were taken out for. It was like the grand finale fireworks. An example of Ethan Day's prose at it's finest:
"I was completely prepared to dislike you when we first met...But you're like this unhospitable fungus that continues to thrive in any environment and I fear I've simply gotten used to having you around at this stage."
I think my favorite part, though, was the Mystery Science Theater selection between Gabe and Boone. It's worth the read just to get there.
I must say, Mr. Day, that you've given me a reprieve for a few hours where I was able to fully divest myself in the world of Summit City and all it's backwards, crazy, fun loving ways. And I thank you for that. This is definitely one of the best.
I leave this one question... What happened to Tommy???!!!

The MCs Boone and Wade are back. Boone is snarky as ever. So if you hate nonstop sass you shouldn't have picked up this series in the first place. If you are on book 3, well I can assume you like massive amounts of sarcasm. Wade is...well...Wade. Despite the Olympic medals, model looks, and Colgate commercial smile he's a bit boring. Compared to Boone that is. But honestly, I don't know if could handle two Boone like characters hooking up...my brain would explode.
The plot Boone and Wade have shacked up in Summit City. There's a wedding in the works. Even Gabe, Boone's best friend, has found love with Wade's arch nemesis Chip. Life is good. But of course there are bumps along the way. Boone finally completed his book. Good job Boone! Wade's response to the book, though, surprises Boone and threatens to derail their relationship. Will they work things out? Will they get married or will Boone throw in the towel and run back to New Mexico?
This was nearly a 5 for me. The author explores some deep issues this book including emotional trauma and acceptance. I really appreciated watching the characters grow. While no sacrificing the sass. It was the typos the dropped the rating for me. Nothing horrible like getting character names mixed up. It was little things like an "a" being omitted, or a "the". It happened enough I found it distracting. I'm sad to say goodbye to this series. I hope at the very least we see further stories involving some of the other Summit City residents like Chip/Gabe or maybe even Donny/Lonny settle down with someone from Summit City.
Life In Union is the third book in the Summit City series by Ethan Day. It continues the story of snarky, aspiring author Boone and sexy Olympic gold-medalist Wade. It's been an eventful several months filled with falling in love, meshing of family and friends, an car crash and a move to be with each other. Life has definitely changed, especially for Boone, who now has to find his place in a new town and make their shared house into a home.
This book is spectacular. You will find yourself getting all the feels. There is some tension, romance, sex, snark, hilarity and love. I fell in love with Wade and Boone and would love to hang out with their gang of family and friends. I truly appreciate their inappropriate comments. Like if I could I would go shopping with Boone and Jackie, my sons may fit in well with her spawn.
I will tell you that it's best to start at book one, Snow Ho... then book two, Life in Fusion... and then this book. You need the whole experience. Trust me you will not be disappointed.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Ethan Day is back to his Summit City series with Life In Union. And he has excelled with continuing the wonderful feel and humor.
This series slays me. The banter and snark are superb. The one liners are too many to count. I laughed out loud many, many times. I am completely smitten with these men and wish they were real. I absolutely want to be friends with them.
Seriously, who yells to their family that they are off to butt fuck? OMG! Seriously the funniest! I love that Ethan Day manages to create these amazing characters, who are so damn close to one another, but are also able to say anything.
And, omg, the Halloween scenes are epic.
Don't get me wrong, included among all the laughs are some serious topics and moments. The men have to deal with some obstacles, some differences in opinion and more. Some of these moments are very emotional. It's crazy, it's fun, and I know this is the type of book I could read every day. It's the perfect feel good story and I'll definitely be re-reading this series many times.
Thank you Ethan Day for Life In Union and the entire Summit City series. I hope there's a lot more to come.
I'm sorry to say that this is my least favorite of the series. I loved Boone, Wade and the rest of the cast in book one. I loved them all even more in book two. I laughed so many times in those books. I was thrilled that we were finally going to see Boone and Wade marry. I was happy knowing that we were going to see Gabe and Chip get their own HEA.
However, it truly pains me to say that this was only an okay read for me. I didn't laugh once.... I actually, sort of disliked Boone... worse yet, I no longer felt the love between them. The snark that in the previous books was funny....in this one just felt mean to me. I'm not positive why but I think it's mainly due to the vignettes. The jump from one holiday to the next, filled with snark and very little love just rubbed me wrong.
I'm sure that it's a case of it's me and that many will love it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I've been waiting a long time for this story and I'm very happy to say I wasn't disappointed! Boone, who is my all time favorite character, is still the same funny, snarky wonderful character in this installment. The love between Boone and Wade still melted my heart and in places melted the pages. I think there is room for more story for these guys but if this is it I'm happy.
I had mixed feeling about this the first two books, and this book was the same. I don't always appreciate Boone's snark, and some of the other characters drive me nuts. I read for a bit, then skipped over some silliness, then read some more, but I did enjoy seeing Wade and Boone get their HEA.
This is the third book in the series and continues to follow Boone, Wade and their crazy family and friends. Boone is just as snarky and lovable as ever and I love his relationship with soon to be sister in law Jackie. In this book he and Wade start to plan their wedding. However, there are inevitably a few bumps along the way. A really enjoyable end to a great series.
very good series.. i enjoyed the characters and their love. i loved how they did everything and how it all works out.. the writing was amazing as well. it was all around a good story
Nice to be back with snarky Boone and his journey to wedded bliss with Wade. The gang's all here for this last instalment in the series. Shame there was so oong between bok 2 and 3.
Wonderful conclusion to a great series. Unfortunately this will be the last book, please see my note below.
The series follows the adventures of Wade, a straight-laced Olympic Gold Medal skier, and Boone, a wannabe writer, bitingly scarastic manwhore trying to find a place for himself in the world. Their romance is lovely, angsty, funny and a little heartbreaking here and there. And, they are surrounded by a cast of equally snarky residents in the ski town of Summit City.
I really think all three books need to be read in order to get the most enjoyment out of the story. Boone and Wade will forever be in my heart.

Just a short note to say that I just found out that this 3rd book in the Summit City series was available. Unfortunately I also found out that Ethan Day passed away in 2018. I loved his writing and I loved his books. This makes me so sad. If you haven't read the Summit City series you really missed a great read (shouldn't be past tense, they are still available on Amazon).
Boone and Wade are back. It was a world that I was eager to return to, and I was so very, very disappointed. The writing was disjointed, with lots of descriptors and not much story. Everything felt cobbled together and just...there wasn't much story. It actually felt as though there was more Boone and Wade's sister story than there was Boone and Wade.
