This book chronicles the life story of Ava, a girl caught up in “the system.” She recalls her childhood and young adulthood with horrifying details, but also shows true forgiveness and ultimately, self-acceptance. Told with blatant honesty, this story illustrates the hidden world of abuse and the challenge of overcoming adversity at all cost.

This was an amazing book. The story is heart-wrenching and raw. I admire the subject's honesty with and about herself. I am so impressed with how she climbed out of the hole that tragedy and personal choices had dug for her.

What a story! Human redemption, encouragement and triumph, the mix of humor makes the raw truth easier to swallow. Will look for more from this author.
