A pact between worlds. The search for a true human mate. A sci-fi fairy tale come true…
Once upon a time, the Trilyn made contact with the people of Earth. In return for taking seven fertile females as brides for their seven princes, they would share their alien technology and enable Earth to create intergalactic space ships.
Prince Gardax, the eldest of the seven princes has endured years of searching for the human female who can bear his children. Two years of parties, genetic compatibility scanners, and failed attempts at finding the one woman who was meant for him.
In despair that he will never find his mate among the glittering party guests, Prince Gardax begins the search in earnest, and finds his mate in the most unlikely of places – the palace kitchens.
Amy Allan was just looking for a job, anything to ensure the survival of herself and her baby sister. Working in the great palace of the eldest Trilyn prince seemed like a good idea at the time, and the only option available for a war-refugee with a toddler in tow. But with a backbreaking workload and a nightmare boss, hoping for something better seems futile.
When the devastatingly handsome alien prince bursts into the kitchens demanding his mate, Amy’s last shred of hope disappears as her domineering boss, Darla, steps in to claim the prince for herself. Darla will stop at nothing to become a princess, even if it means threatening Amy and her sister. Can Amy defeat her nemesis and win the prince’s heart? Or will she lose everything she’s fought so hard to keep?
Alien Prince Charming is the first book in the Trilyn Alien Fairy Tales series. This is a science fiction romance story features a stubborn working class human female and a dominant alien prince in search of his mate. Each book in this page-turning science fiction series has no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed happy ending!
This is one of the worst things I've ever read in my entire life. I've ranted written and deleted 10 paragraphs about this book now, trying to tone it down each time because holy shit you can't lead a review with calling something a stupid piece of garbage. But it is. That's all that really matters.
This book just didn't do it for me. As far as the story goes. It was good. It was different. It wasn't a cookie cutter book. But there are things about it that I personally just didn't like.
First off, Gardox, is the first born Prince. In a sense he is King. He's not a king, his brothers all have their own provinces or whatever, but he is still somewhat the leader and the one they all look up to. They follow what he says. With a character like that you would expect certain take charge qualities. But he doesn't, he lets Darla walk all over everyone. He doesn't set any plan into motion about finding Amy after he learns the truth about Darla blackmailing her and holding her sister hostage. He just goes on with the wedding. It's his younger brother that steps up and acts like the one in charge. He is the one who acts more like the first born.
Also, if this little device was some sort of genetic testing. Shouldn't they have done another test confirming the device worked with actual DNA before the wedding? Especially when the possible bride was such a monster?
So Gardox just didn't do it for me. He was very nice, but spineless. I like an alpha male with backbone.
Another thing that had me cringing, was when Gardox' brother found Amy, she had been living on the streets and in a warehouse for a couple of days by this point. She quickly changes and rushes up to stop a wedding, then proceeds to have her own wedding... and goes straight to the wedding night. I'm thinking since she was living on the dirty streets, in dirty rags, she may need a good scrubbing before letting her PRINCE kiss and lick all over her body. PUKE!
Also, this leads me to another gripe. The dreams... who has dreams like that? Slow sexual and detailed. Nobody. It was just the authors way of adding intimate scenes in her book even though they weren’t real. I would rather read the whole book and get one good one at the end, than read fake scenes. Dreams change and morph and they move fast, that’s how the dreams should have been written.
And from what I've read on Amazon. The next book which is called The Alien Prince's Mermaid does not even have a mermaid in it. But guess what it does have, another BIAS scanner matching the wrong people. Because someone is trying to manipulate the system. Get rid of the stupid scanners or have more fool proof testing that the future bride candidates don't know about. Nope I will be skipping this book.

Gardax and his brothers need to find human mates in order to save their own population. However, not just any human woman will do, rather a perfect genetic match is needed one that can ensure offspring will be immune to the virus/disease that has ravaged his people. Luckily scientists have created a little device that can help Gardax and his brothers recognise genetically compatible mates.
Human Amy works in the kitchen of the main spaceship, and fantasied about Gardax, trying to make a better life for herself and the younger sister she has cared for solely since the age of 13, when she gains the attention of Gardax someone is seriously not happy and determined to ensure Amy doesn't get her own HEA.
I was really looking forward to this, but the energy and tantalising heat I was hoping for didn't manifest.
I won't be re-reading this one or trying out any other books in the series.
The story started off pretty great. The villain was easy to hate. But the hero turned out to be a complete wimp.
The heroine is in a horrible position and she courageously leaves him a voicemail with information that could harm someone she loves. He listens to it and does nothing? Then the author never addresses that voicemail
The little sister is starved beaten and tortured, But instead of following her to the medical ward, Amy decides to have the ceremony?

So these books are ok if you just want something you don't need to engage your brain for like on the beach where you will be easily distracted and keep putting it down, however if you want a good alien romp these are not for you.
I may go back and try to finish this book because I really hate to DNF.
My main problems: 1. The internal dreaming of the other person is done CONSTANTLY. I understand dreaming of another person, especially another life if yours kinda sucks currently, but it felt like 25% of the book. Total overkill and I started skimming. Drove me nuts.
2. The whole plot line with (if you read you know) felt dragged out somehow. I’m not sure exactly how, it just did.
3. The prince kinda feels like a doormat at times. I think he is supposed to be all pouty martyr, but have a little backbone dude, this really the tone you want to set for the rest of your life?
4. It felt really predictable.
5.Inconsistency with how the aliens (H) say they treat their people/people (value life and etc.) and then how they actually treat people.
What I actually did like: 1. MC relationship with sister. Their interactions were great.
2. The MC background was done well mostly, but I felt like at times it felt a little contrived to give the H the idea that she’s so perfect and yadda yadda.
3. Relationship with brothers. Wasn’t wowed by it, but I did like it.
4. Bodi. Really liked him.
While I didn’t finish the book because it was starting to feel like a chore, I felt like it had a lot of potential to be something pretty great. Maybe needs an editor or a buddy author? Not sure, but it had potential.
***********************
So I went ahead and finished it. I have nothing to add except the book reminds me of Ella Enchanted (2004 Disney movie with Anne Hathaway) for some reason. Except, you know, with X rated sex scenes.
DNF @ 30% I’m a sucker for a fairytale retelling, so when I saw this on KU- I jumped in. The overall “product” is Ok. It has a professional looking cover, and the editing isn’t bad. (compared to other KU books) My issue is it’s too silly for me. The premise is that these princes need wives, so a scientist came up with a contraption to find their mates.
I had a few issues…First, the inconsistencies. For example, in the blurb/intro she states she has a toddler. Later, said toddler talks like an actual adult.
“So what happened when Darla came in?” Corinne asked, her blue eyes wide and full of more optimism than the situation warranted. It was crazy early, and she was perched on a chair in our tiny kitchenette, wrapped in a thick blanket while I cooked breakfast before heading to the ship to do the same for the prince.
Corinne opened her eyes then, just for a moment. “Talk to the prince and sweep him off his feet.” She laughed weakly. Even if she was only partially kidding, her hope was pitiful and made my heart ache.
After this she picks her up, and carries her out of the room.
If you read my reviews, you know that I LOVE a crazy wannabe OW, but Darla was too OTT for me. It felt childish rather than evil.
“How is it that you are so incompetent? Do you think you were just born a simpleton, or was it growing up as gutter skuzz that did it?”
“Since your dim-witted goldfish brain is incapable of holding onto information for more than a few minutes, let me remind you
Add in a wimpy H that can’t stand up for himself, the couple spending very little time together other than her smut dreams, and the ridiculousness of the “conflict” and I was out. The actual plot was pretty unique, just not a good fit for me…I’m way to jaded for this. 😉
I love the idea of this series. 7 alien princes (& brothers) who must marry human brides to repopulate. The characters were interesting, despite the bit of instalove happening. I do wish there had been more of a description of their home planet. However, most of the story happened on Earth and aboard their ship so the reader doesn't get to learn about their home. Overall, a fun and interesting alien fairy tale.
Thank goodness this was a free read of sorts, as unfortunately i had to go away and come back a few times to finish. While the H people were touted as advanced and all that jazz, they were very much like bad rulers everywhere. After encountering Darla ( evil person in book) you would think he would have nothing to do with her and likely get her off their ship. Nope. The h inthis story Amy has had a hard time, parents dead and she is sole provider for her younger sister but she daydreams about the Prince and him choosing her etc as this is why these aliens have come to earth.
Cut to the majority of the story H likes h, Evil person Darla doesn't like that so does something so horrible it made Amy leave the burgeoning relationship, and once the prince is made aware..well you are just going to have to read to find out what happens or look up on GR as spoilers galore are there.
A bit drawn out and i found the Prince to be much like most Princes, no backbone when needed and too much stock into tech that can be misused horribly. Hopefully it's fixed in the second book, but looking at reviews maybe not.
I was looking for a fun, fluffy novel and ran across this one. High drama. OTT situations. This girl though... In my head, I had two trains of thought going. Her circumstances are horrible and she is a refugee in her own country. Ok, but she is making do the best she can. She has been fantasizing and dreaming about the alien prince. Ok, in her situation, escapism is understandable. She gets jealous when she thinks about him with someone else before she ever has a conversation with him. Well, that seems extreme, but I suppose it could happen. Jealous to the point that it is so painful she can't speak. Ok, so that's a tad bit juvenile.
What I didn't understand was, why was she needed to inform the Prince that Darla had manipulated the machine. Why was it not enough that his brother he trusted as his right hand and the man confessing who created the technology, to convince him? He didn't even believe her and had to ask for proof, when the confession guy jumped in and did his thing. The whole, " You are the only one who can do this" did not make sense to me.
I should have known better by trusting the reviews... The synopsis of this book sounded really good so even though the reviews had mentioned it was not a pleasant read, I decided to give it a shot. Well by the fourth chapter I knew I had made a mistake.
This book attempts to recreate the Cinderella story but adding a sci-fi/modern day twist on it, but it falls flat and makes the reader want to re-watch the original Cinderella movie to cleanse themselves of this mess. The two main characters were not lovable and quite honestly the romance between them was not believable. Amy, (aka Cinderella), could be considered to be diagnosed with Delusional Disorder with how hard she fantasizes about the Prince (I mean, we all have a moment of fantasizing about a guy we are attracted to, but dang homegirl goes HAAARD). Her character is built to show someone who has endured trials but remained pure throughout but I just could not even get close to liking her. Then you have the Prince.... *sighs* As much thinking as he does throughout the book you'd think there would be more action, alas, he mostly just ponders about how intensely attractive he finds Amy but due to a completely unnecessary arc to the story, he ends up chasing after her fruitlessly while kind of being a pansy at the same time.
The icing on the cake is the character Darla who takes the place of evil step-mom/step-sisters but the author goes way farther by making her an abuser, child-kidnapper, sociopath, and downright just ANNOYING AS ALL GET OUT. I get we need a villain in any fairy tale but my God at least make the villain arc somewhat interesting. Instead, I was just annoyed and at times horrified at how much she gets away and even in the end she gets off way too easy.
All in all, I wish I had not read this book. I was hopeful that this would be an interesting series to begin but I am staying far, far away from the rest of this series.
Look at the cover.... I feel this cover adequately explains what you are about to get yourself into--colorful wish fulfillment fantasy romance. It's not horrible but it's not great either--it's a palate cleanser in-between more heavy stories. Basically, this is a simple romance story with an alien twist. If you feel you've likely read stories like this somewhere on live journal or AO3 you wouldn't be far off. Mostly this just wasn't my usual cup of tea. I gave it a chance since Goodreads recommended it to me... and I'll confess I'll be a bit more discerning about Goodreads recommendations after this one.
Mostly I like my hero and heroines with a bit more complexity to them--the love interest for all that he's a prince and heir to an alien culture is rather immature in thought and for a more advanced culture the plot doesn't work horribly well with this concept (I mean really.... genetic screening device to meet your perfect match but no other technology that seems appropriate for this level of complexity....). And I'll stop here because I'll start just leaving long winded run on sentence rants.
bottom line: if you like simplistic (I'd almost call it teenage audience due to some of the naiveté on the character's parts) written romances with a scifi twist it's probably for you. If you like more cerebral or complex romances it's probably not.
This Unlikely fairy tale is a ridiculous story with a nonsensical plot. I love alpha alien male romance, but this story was just too stupid to be worth reading. The book is well written but the plot is dumb and unbelievable. I guess it's supposed to be a take on Cinderella. I was incredibly disappointed! The story was so bad it made me 😠angry!
ARC Received from Savannah May Romance I also got the book with KU
Let me start by saying that even though I was hesitant about listening to this story based on the cheesy cover, I enjoyed it. There were a few things here and there that needed to be fixed but, overall, I have no regrets.
Anyway,
Once complete, I would have thought the narrator would have done a listen-through as well as the publisher (unless self-published), but whoever is in charge of making sure the narration is good to go, no repeats/mess-ups, did a bad job here! There were several times when the narrator repeated himself because he’d messed up, but the mess-up was included also. For example, “Crossing her legs in front of her…” was repeated four different times.
Also, I understand that not everyone can afford an editor, but at least get a few people (non-family members, people that can be unbiased, beta readers, etc.) to read through your story before publishing. Let others help you find any mistakes. When there are mistakes or questionable phrases, it sticks out like a sore thumb, at least to me. Here are a few examples:
1. Amy was hiding away with Bodie(?) and one of the princes’ men come looking for her. “I didn’t recognize the tone.” Given Amy had never met this man before, she wouldn’t know how this man spoke (casually, angry, happy, etc.), so shouldn’t this have been “I didn’t recognize the voice”? 2. There were three sentences one after another that started as “Food splattered…, Metal clattered…, and Dishes shattered…” I don’t know if the author was trying to be funny or cute or something, but no. Keep the rhyming to poetry, please. 3. “Her new tone was that of a sullen child after realize they weren’t going to get their way.” 4. “Each of these woman, ladies who could be his mate.”
After noticing so many mistakes, I couldn’t help but wonder if the narrator got embarrassed having to say an incorrect word, strange sentence, etc.
Speaking of the narrator, he did an all right job, overall. I did have some issues with his female voices (lol). When Amy and Gardax are getting intimate…was hilarious. Listening to a man speaking in a feminine-still-sounding-male voice, well, it was disturbing, to say the least, especially when it got detailed. It was like a man was talking about another man “spreading him” downstairs. It was too much!
Questions/Comments:
How was Gardax not a king? He was in charge because he was the oldest brother. All the brothers had their own provinces. So, why wasn’t he a king, or in fact, why weren’t they all kings given they had their own land?
The dreams were questionable given I doubt anyone (maybe a few) has such detailed-remember-everything-type dreams. The fact Amy had never had a boyfriend (I think) and had never had sex, yet had such detailed sexual dreams? Yeah…no.
Gardax has several people tell him that Darla is bad. So, why didn’t he remove her from his ship? Isn’t his race respectful to everyone?
What was the point of Gardax performing interviews on his potential mates when he simply had to aim his scanner device (whatever it was) at the female?
I found it questionable that Amy would have ended up getting mad (thinking he’d forgotten about her) at Gardax after he announced his upcoming marriage. She was the one to run away from him. The fact that she continued to run, even though she had no clue when she’d get her sister back, really annoyed me. When her phone died, Gardax was right there but, still, she didn’t ask for his help, instead ran away.
Given Gardax and Darla had only been “engaged” for a short period of time, why had he allowed her to boss everyone around when he was the one in charge. Yes, he was upset that his “chosen” wasn’t Amy, but common sense should have told him to put her in her place in the beginning, especially given he knew she was being bitchy. Plus, why hadn’t he done more in finding Amy after he received her message about Darla?
I found it funny that Amy ended up changing into the fancy dress and slippers Gardax’s brother brought her, yet…she hadn’t showered or even cleaned up any… And once they married, still wearing the same clothing, they went right at it in the bedroom. Gross.
How had they fallen in love given they didn’t really know each other? Was this a love at first sight because Amy was his true mate?
Why in the world did Amy invite Darla to their wedding party? Yes, because I’m sure her sister would have loved to see Darla again.
I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Gardax, the future High King, had summoned his six brothers who were waiting to hear what he had to say. When the two top scientists joined them in the council room, they began the presentation to bring everyone up to speed on what was going on. The new BIAS scanner would find the most perfect match for the brothers in selecting a bride for each to ensure the future of their people. Most of their women were infertile. But a human mate would be immune to the virus that was wiping out the Trilynian people, and the offspring would be virally resistant. Needless to say, none of them particularly wanted to blindly leave the choice of their future bride to science! But this was their duty and there was no arguing with that.
On Earth, the excitement was growing among the women at the possibility of marriage to Trilyn Royalty. Each Trilyn ship would host a gathering with a large number of human females for each of the brothers to search with their own BIAS scanner.
Amy Allen was working in the sweltering kitchen of the ship when her boss, Darla, asked how she could be so incompetent. The other kitchen workers moved away, knowing what was coming. Darla threw the warm tray of freshly baked goods Darla had made into the garbage. She shrilly screamed at the other workers who couldn’t leave their workstations. And Amy let her mind drift to Prince Gardax and how it would be if they were together. The prince was a trained warrior, and his controlled movements left no doubt about that.
Gardax had a headache from the concentration of perfume in the room, so he stepped out for some air and quiet. Suddenly the device buzzed, although he saw no one around him. As he approached the kitchen, the screen lit up! He walked into the darkened kitchen and saw a woman with her back to him. Another saw him and let out a scream. The woman with the red braid turned and he tried to approach her, but Darla came storming in, saw him, and pushed him away from everyone. Her gesturing hands knocked his scanner to the floor and the screen cracked! But he had not had the chance to identify which woman in that room was his match!
Amy told Corinne, her 13-year-old sister about the evening. Corinne urged her to try to see Prince Gardax, so she volunteered to deliver his lunch tray. He recognized her and their playful banter made him more sure that she was the one meant for him. But until the scanner was repaired and confirmed her as his bride, he couldn’t do anything about it. What would the scanner reveal? And what would he do if she wasn’t the one he was matched with?
This was a very good story that I easily enjoyed. I look forward to the additional stories that will be coming to tell us how each of the princes fare in finding their brides. The characters were described well and actually even the aliens were very realistic and likable. The story line moved at a perfect pace and kept the reader’s attention. I definitely recommend this one!
This book is about another idiot. She's been thru SOOOOO much, but she's just as self-absorbed and lacking in true humility, meekness, or anything actually GOOD that is in the world as the rest of the idiots out there. She spends A.L.L. of her time picturing herself landing a prince and being in the lap of luxury, having it easy, and having his sex-ay all to herself.
Sounds like a stepsister to me, if I've ever seen one. I hated her. From moment one.
And her self-absorbed fantasies went on. And on. AND ON. One third in - 82 pages in - and it was still selfish ambition and mental self-elevation. There was not a redeeming character quality in this chick. Just lots of ME-ME-ME-ME just like every other millennial and present gen brat out there.
Then there would be a break: guys mumbling in the streets, domestic violence in the hallways of her building, babies screaming, life sucks... which segued right back into *I DESERVE BETTER, BECAUSE ME-ME-ME-MEEEEEEEE*
The prince is hardly any better. He knows the wicked stepmother (er, Darla the head of the Kitchens) is evil from moment one. All he had to do was say, "Amy was the reason you had a job. You may consider yourself dismissed if she's gone." End of drama, happy kitchen. But he's an idiot, too. Hrm... evil kitchenmaster? (← My mixer just giggled) Well... carry on, wicked woman. ?????? C'mon!
And if someone I hated took MY CHILD away from me? I'd follow her ass home and gut her with my switchblade, not "Poor ME-ME-ME-MEEEEE"... until she laid down on her bed in abject terror for her kidnapped sister and... had fantasies about porkin' the prince. A-Gain. I thought this chick was strong because she came thru something? Isn't that what the author insisted? Harrrrrrrrdly. She's a louse.
And then HE starts fantasizing. You've. GOT. to. be. KIDDING. me. Worse? Then he 'matches' with Darla, who starts being evil stepmom to HIM, and... "okay, honey" is all you get out of him. Instead of an honorable man standing up for right and having a damn backbone.
Prince Gardax and his brothers are trying to save their people after a disease made most Trilyn women infertile. The princes have come to Earth and made an agreement of technology for brides. Now the princes are trying to find the best physically compatable bride using special scanners the scientist have made. The princes decide that the fastest way to find brides is to hold multiple big parties so they have access to many women at once. The night of the first party Prince Gardax is discouraged. None of the women appeal to him and his scanner has reacted all night. He steps out to take a break and then his scanner wakes up and guides him to the kitchen. In the chaos that follows, the scanner is broken but one woman catches the prince's eye. Could this be his fated mate? Amy has had a rough life. Her parents were murdered when she was a young teenager, leaving her with the responsibility of raising her little sister. They were refugees just trying to make ends meet. Amy that she was lucky to get a job in Prince Gardax's kitchen but her boss has it in for her. Amy has a crush on the Prince but knows she could never catch the eye of a prince. The news goes out that the Prince is searching for his mate. The whole kitchen is stunned when Prince Gardax shows up in the kitchen. Amy is very drawn to the prince. Could she be his mate? This is a great alien Cinderella retelling with some surprising twists. I really enjoyed this story and I can't wait to read about the other brothers.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was brilliant I loved the whole storyline about hot sexy alien Princess coming to earth looking for there Genetic mates with the help from a scanner that identifies them out of all else. To better there odds the invite all young women to a party to be held in there floating palace. Prince Gardax is the oldest among the seven of them and the first to to turn on his scanner and all the rest followed suit but after a few hours Gardax left the party goes by the kitchen on his way to his rooms and his scanner goes off he walks in and start to talk to one of the staff Amy who he is attracted to her straight away but doesn’t get to talk further but is stopped by Darla who makes him leave and knocks the scanner out of his hand. Amy Allen is shocked when the Prince comes into the kitchen ever since she got the job on the spaceship and has dreamed of him every night and her boss Darla treats her and the other like trash but mostly her but she bits her tongue to keep her job so she and her baby sister Connie can eat. Darla realises that the prince is interested in Amy after she finds out that they have been talking she thank her lucky stars she made the prince drop the scanner before he could use it again and to make sure she keeps Amy and him apart she kidnaps Connie and makes Amy leave because Darla wants the prince for herself and she gets a jammer to stop his scanner from working but sends out a signal saying that she is his mate and Gardax is shocked because he believes Amy is his mate not this horrible person. How does it all turn out, can Amy save her sister Connie and stop Darla her from taking her mate.
This story is mainly about Gardax searching for his mate. He has been given a gadget that will signal when he is near to her. The Trilyn race has suffered a disease that turned their females infertile and now they are searching the humans who have been found to be genetically matched to them. Amy Allan works in Prince Gardax's kitchens to earn as much as she can to support herself and her young sister as they are orphans and Amy is all Corinne has to nurture and provide for her. There is one big problem with Amy working in the royal kitchen, her boss, the wickedly evil Darla who treats everyone like low lives and criticizes and humiliates all that work under her. The day that Prince Gardax enters the kitchen, following the beeping and flashing of his mate finding gadget, all the problems that could happen, do. Darla bumps into Gardax and his mate finder crashes to the floor and is destroyed before he could find out who in the kitchen is his mate. The other 6 Princes appear in this story just long enough to get us interested in each one and I can't wait to read their stories. The Trilyn Fairy Tales will continue with the other Princes stories. This book, number one in the series finishes the journey of Prince Gardax after all the complications and harmfull incidents get sorted out with a HEA. This was a sweet love story in spite of the negative environment they all found themselves in.
Amy knows nothing but hard work and sacrifice. Circumstances caused her to grow up way to fast. She will do whatever it takes to make sure her sister is happy and healthy. Working in the Alien Prince Gardax's kitchen keeps a roof over their heads. Daydreams about the handsome prince keep her going. Gardax is visiting Earth to find his genetically compatible match in order to save his world. But he hopes that he will be matched with someone who speaks to his heart and soul as well as his genes. Spying the sweet and caring Amy, his scanner indicates that someone in that vicinity is his match. Will it be Amy and make Gardax the happiest man in the galaxy?
This was a really sweet romance and my first book by Zara Zenia! I was impressed with the world building, seeing a future that isn't implausible at all. Gardax is a caring and driven ruler, wanting to help his people at any cost to himself. Amy could have easily come across as a Mary Sue as she struggled and worked to provide for her sister. However, she is written with such strength, a core of steel that was awesome to see! I hope we get to see more of Gardax's culture and planet in future books. If you are looking for a futuristic romance with lovely characters and a plot that keeps you engaged to the end, I would urge you to check out Alien Prince Charming.

I really liked the premise as I am a sucker for fairy tale retellings. I was really happy until I got about a quarter of the way through. It wasn't spectacular before, but it got worse. Amy, who had seemed like she could take care of herself & her sister, became an idiot. She fell for everything Darla told her after saying over & over how untrustworthy she was. That was another annoying thing- things just got repeated over & over. Like how her life wasn't easy, Garnax needing to repopulate his planet & the pressure he was under. And for all her worry over Corrine, she basically forgot her for a few chapters. And the sex scenes! They were the most poorly described scenes I have read in while.
There was so much that bothered me about this book, but I wanted to finish it because I have been getting this author's newsletter for awhile & wanted to read her work. Now, I'm not so sure. I read the preview in the next book & it looks to be more of the same repeating things & having whole paragraphs where nothing of value was said. Also if the guy describes someone's hair as being a carrot colored braid, we don't need the girl to them say her carrot colored braid a few pages later.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

She endures endless amounts of verbal assult thrown at her. Though she wishes someone like Prince Gardax would come and take her away she knows this is only a dream. Will they both find a HEA or will it all be snatched from them by outside forces?
This is an amazing book. It does have its ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say that this book will grab you from the first word and not let go till the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
This was a fantastic read. It was a bit slow at first but it definitely picked up the pace after the first 2 or 3 chapters. I liked how it was not so much a world builder but more of a detailed descriptive book. You knew what type of futuristic/apocalyptic earth we were in and how destructive society has become. Though not the main theme of the book, I certainly picked up on sub-themes of mass world/planet destruction and how humans contribute to this destruction. Though it is set in the future I was able to relate and apply it to the issues our planet faces today. As with all fantasy paranormal romance, their is an alien prince who takes your breath away. And there is the fated chosen human female who will make it all a dream come true. But this book is unique in that it has a startling villain who will make you want to wish that villain the worth possible death. The author does a fantastic job in weaving in characteristics of a suspense/thriller into a paranormal romance. The end result is a wonderful engaging story that never bores you... so much that you want to know what happens to the other supporting characters.
The story reminded me a lot of the fairytale of Cinderella in which a kitchen princess goes to a ball to end up being the woman chosen by the prince. Here happens somewhat the same were it not that the tale takes place in the future and the princes are from a different planet. One part of the story was a big plothole in my opinion. The women on the planet the princes are from turned infertile due to a virus and now with a technical gadget they are off to earth to find a woman who will be biologically suitable to conceive their child. The aim is to repopulate the planet. But why only the king and his brothers? Would that not be damaging for the gene pool? Why not bring groups of males and check with women from earth and then a new group? The story is a nice read for romantic teenage girls. But as the story has three sexscenes (two dreams and one real, but not too over the top) it is not suitable for too young girls.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
