Living with a large group of people is really starting to grow on me, especially since before I was kidnapped, I was feeling more and more alone every day. My days used to be an endless cycle of passive aggressive comments about my size and appearance, disguised as constructive criticism from someone who "just didn't want me to feel out of place" in his world. I may like to workout, but I also like to eat. Now, living on leap land with people who seem to like me just fine at my size, I'm more content than I've ever been. There might me nights I wish I had someone to hold me the way many of my friend's mates hold them, but getting into another relationship and having to deal with the same kind of treatment as before would more lonely than sleeping alone at night. Trust me, I've been there. And someone as physically perfect as Sloan Richardson couldn't possibly have any more patience with my eating habits than my ex had been, can he?
Sloan Richarson
Reid Wilson is perfect…and kinda a d*ck. When he's not all out laughing in my face at the suggestion of a date, he is thoroughly ignoring the fuu…dge out of me. Having a conversation with him that doesn't end in me wanting to both curl in a ball and cry myself to sleep and stab something repeatedly, is an absolute miracle and possibly not even a thing. But I have every intention of wearing him down because he's my mate and he belongs with me. And I'll do everything I can to do it. Even run directly into the line of fire from a hitman's gun, or avoid the slice of the knife Reid's always carrying around, covered in blood, paint and pumpkin guts.
Warning: Mpreg elements!
Also, my books have little to no angst, and lots and lots of fluff! They are better read in order, because I kind of write them like a continuation of a story, and I don't like to repeat explanations over and over if I can help it. No cheating, because that makes my heart hurt, and I try to avoid things that make me sad like I SHOULD be avoiding carbs. Sorry, I just don't want anyone being disappointed if they like the angst filled heart-rippers. These read more like a romantic comedy than a romantic drama.
At first I was not sure this book was gonna work for me.. but about a third of the way through everything clicked and I was loving it! So happy little Harper is showing up here and there at the leap. He provides more than a few laugh out loud moments!
Such a wonderful story... I just wished we could have gotten the "edited" version! You know, the one with correctly used and spelled words... not the one with so many errors that it even had remaining "author's" notes at the end... grrr
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and have tried to keep my few critical remarks constructive... BUT, seriously? There is NO excuse for a book being released in this shape! Any given 5th grader could spell and understand sentence structure better than what we received today... shame on you Ms. Light... shame on YOU! This is YOUR baby and it should have NEVER seen the light of day in the condition it is in! Please, for the sake of your readers and possibly your writing career... PROOFREAD and then publish! *headdesk* :(
*clears throat*
Now, having said that, I just loved Reid and Sloane together! *grin*
And, it would appear that we now wait to see what will become of the unit and then there is Payne's mate to consider... ;D
A decent 3.5. Not super stellar. But readable. One thing I've come to realize with this series, is some couples Really stand out. Ridley/Flynn - because they were the first Bennett/Thompsyn - because Bennett is so funny and Thompsyn really works the "long suffering spouse" angle. Harley/Carter - Harley is sweet/funny and Carter is like a murder angel Rory/Green - Rory is so damaged and Green so sweet
Alot of the rest though, are forgettable. They, and their stories are so much alike, I forget who the characters are when they are mentioned. I've even started taking notes on who the couples are because I have such a hard time remembering. I often mix up Ronny/Sutton with Foster/Burke for example.
I generally enjoy reading books in this series. They are usually quick, fun reads. I can usually overlook occasional typos, but this book was just chock full of typos and mistakes. Disappointed with this one and hope the author finds an editor for the next book in the series.
To my ratings (thanks to amazon I had to change it again and 'upgrade' it a little bit.):
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like 'Liberty' from Seth Kann ing, 'Save that he kids' series from EM Leya or 'Jesse's Smile' from Angelique Jurd), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, but not really an often reread book
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Your soulmate tried to kill you, so what do you do?
It's a good thing I could read this book in one sitting. The action is non-stop. This addition to the Chosen saga had me clamoring for more. I love this series. I feel I know the characters. The plot thickens, corruption is exposed. Old friends are here. There is a crazy ex, an adorable boy, introspection, humor, and a MC who is both hefty and fierce. What's not to love! When Sloan rescues a group of chosen, he doesn't expect to find his mate covered in blood & holding a knife on him. Reid has been told all his life to lose weight. Can he trust that gorgeous Sloan wants him, as is? Sloan knows Fate doesn't give you a mate unless he is perfect for you. He will do whatever it takes to convince Reid he is serious. Come join Sloan & Reid on their journey to HEA. Along the way, they will face danger, and a corrupt plot that may go far above everyone's pay grade. You will love this book! This is a continuation of the series. To get the full effect, read the first 11 books in order. I can't wait to get book 13. This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
I have read all the previous books in this series and all are between 3 and 4 star ratings. I think the editing is improving as the series goes on or I'm just not noticing the mistakes. The ones that have received 3 star ratings have just been a bit too heavy for short reads for me anyway. As far as this particular book goes (3.5 stars), I enjoyed the fact that they didn't give each other nicknames. It seemed to be a running theme and did start to grate after a while in the series. I had a hard time understanding Reid's size. Like his ex called him fat, he himself stated that he wasn't in the best of shape and Sloan said he had a slight belly. These are all different sizes to me and it doesn't really effect how well I liked the book but I would have preferred more consistency. I felt like their story got cut short too so hopefully there is some follow up in the next couple of books. Can't wait to continue reading this series!
I'm really loving this series but there were so many misspelled words, and words that just should not have been in a sentence, that it was highly distracting. It completely took away from the story. You want to put your best out there so please just do a read through before you publish. Most of the misspelled words were pretty obvious. Also for the price, the book should be longer but that's just my opinion. Love all of the characters and can't wait for the next book.
This is a shifter/paranormal suspense romance series, the twelfth book in the series and it has to be read in order. The story starts with a group of kidnapped Chosen settling in at the Leap house after their rescue. When our MC tries to engage with his chosen, there’s a fun bunch of snark among his disbelief that he’s worthy. Seriously go back to book one to start this series as they literally read like one continuous story.
I am absolutely in love with this series! I love that there’s low angst and always a happy ending for each couple. I enjoy seeing the past characters and how they’re getting on. This was another great addition to the series and it made me really excited for the next book!
Another short but sweet MMpreg story . You can kind of read this before the 1st but you would be missing so much! If you are looking for a series to power read that is funny with a bit of action and drama , look no further! I can't wait for the next one!
I made sure to update this book before I read it, after I saw other reviews saying it wasn't edited. Even with it updated, there were still mistakes. Took away from the story when it kept happening which sucks because I was enjoy the story. I hope the next one is edited better. This book gets 3 stars for the oversize load sign (I really want one of those signs lol)
I loved the storyline, which is rather always fascinating, however, there were quite a few editing errors in this addition. It definitely didn't prevent me from enjoying the sweet romance between Reid, and Sloan, and the amusing dialogue that runs rampant amongst the other characters. This series just keeps getting more and more intriguing. =)
So.... I am kind of curious about the actual end of the book. Because it looks like a little sceibble the author made to remember what to put there.... I'm not putting it on here due to possible spoilers but uuuh... was the right version put on amazon?
Ughh love this. Why do I have to wait for more. It is simply torture!! Loved these characters too. I hope they figure out what went on with Reid husband. Douchebag deserve to be found by Sloan.
Bk 12 Reid and Sloan It was an ok read. Approx 40 pages. Spelling and Grammer mistakes. Mpreg. Interesting concept of the tattoo/mark that represents a chosen one to continue on the race/species/humanity. Quick uncomplicated Reads.
Another fantastic story from the chosen collection. I love this story line I relate a lot with the Reid character in so many ways. I like the way there are true issues used the this collection of stories. Can't wait for more. Xxx
This series is moving along, and we are finding more chosen and mates. But something stinks within the bureaucracy with the money men shutting them down not that we find out much. An enjoyable read.
That was totally awesome I loved it I laughed so hard I got the hiccups and I can't wait to read the next book in this series and I will be reading it next....
This book felt unfinished to me... The other books before this one did not... I liked both the MC'S especially Reid...but it just felt incomplete ...what happened with Richard??
This stories are just to adorable. Really if don’t laugh or giggle or just think wow these are not the books for you but if like me and enjoy little bit seriously sill mates and there chosen then you in for a great treat.
Love every book by this author so far. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves a good romance with a dose of comedy mixed in. The characters from previous books are in the next one of the series so you know what's going on in their lives. Like one big family.
This series just gets better & better! When I thought Reid had rejected Sloan my heart just broke but Reid was just scared himself! The Leap is a big family that just keeps getting bigger & I love it!!! ❤️❤️😀😀
When Sloan meets his mate Reid, he's immediately smitten, yet Reid doesn't give him the time of day. Not because he doesn't like Sloan, but he has a self-image that doesn't match who he sees with Sloan. It's a sweet story about self-acceptance and love.
