Nimah Logan-Jackson is no stranger to being blinded by love at the expense of her mental and physical well-being. Brave enough to escape her abusive marriage, a newly divorced Nimah decides to leave Detroit in search of a new beginning, leading to her to Malloryville, a small town located in Virginia. It is there that Nimah meets Karsyn Miller, a Malloryville native with a quiet demeanor despite the vivid stories his tatted exterior tells. Nimah is instantly drawn to him but keeps her distance after discovering what the Miller name really stands for. It has nothing to do with Karsyn—who has shown her on more occasion than one that his name doesn’t make him—but everything to do with her real reason for leaving Detroit. Nimah’s husband has been taunting her, threatening her with letters since their divorce. And the last one was enough to send her running.
Karsyn Miller is proof that the same way you shouldn’t judge a book by the cover, you should never disregard the human behind their ink. The great-grandson of Malloryville’s founder, Karter Miller, Karsyn has done everything the right way in life and still has to live with the stain of his family’s history every time their names are mentioned. After discovering that his parents embezzled money from his trust fund, Karsyn is legally emancipated at the age of seventeen. He goes off to college and returns to Malloryvville after graduating. After opening his tattoo shop, he feels like his life is on the right track, until a phone call reveals another betrayal from his parents. This time the victim is his fifteen-year-old sister Kaylyn, who is pregnant and has been abandoned by their parents. In the midst of readying Kaylyn for motherhood, he meets Nimah, who appears to be starting over herself. Despite her hard exterior, Karsyn craves Nimah and pursues her with vigor, hoping to break down that wall, and when he discovers her real reason for showing up to Malloryville, he promises to be the protector she never knew she needed.
Tell Me It's Real was horrible. I'm all for a fast paced storyline if it's done properly. This one was not. This storyline was embarrassingly underdeveloped. A good part of the storyline is centered around a group of supposed crime families but, there were no real details given on said crime families. The author gave us surface information at best. Even Nimah and Karsyn's relationship seemed unrealistic. The romance between them happened unbelievably fast. Their chemistry felt very manufactured. There was almost no buildup to their relationship. They literally went from meeting on the street to Nimah randomly showing up to Karsyn's tattoo shop flirting with him. Next thing you know, they're having their first sexual encounter. It just felt like a big portion of their relationship was missing. I thought it was odd how Karsyn and Kalyn inserted themselves into Nimah's life. From Karsyn mysteriously helping Nimah's get a job to Kaylyn randomly poppin' up at her house. That came off as hella weird. Add to that, the writing was not the best. The book was riddled with grammatical errors and, often times, some of the sentences didn't make sense. It's really sad because, the storyline had great potential. The author just failed miserably at executing it.
Well...this was different. Different, but was quite an enjoyable read. Nimah was on the run for her safety and Karsyn vowed to protect her at all cost. Karsyn wanted no part in his family's shady business, but this man was willing to risk it all, even considering killing to protect the girl he loved. I think that's pretty admirable. Karsyn wanted Nimah and he showed her and proved it. Since this was a crime drama story, I was hoping more from Santino and his family. There were some parts I wished the author had developed more. I loved Kaylyn and her maturity even though she did slip up and got pregnant. I loved how the author also included her POV. Also, the first sex scene in this book was pretty good in my opinion. This wasn't a bad story at all. Although crime romance are not cup of tea, I still enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for sappy love stories and this wasn't a sappy love story, but definitely a love story. Please, note there a few errors here and there in this book, but read away, readers!!
I really enjoyed Nimah & Karsyn 🤗🤗 the families and the secrets were definitely a surprise. I’ll just throw it here Asia👀 I wouldn’t mind reading about the rest of the siblings
I loved this story, what a wonderful flow of events with a little taste of mystery and all that played a part. The characters was very engaging and likable. Ni and Syn were most definitely meant to be, their chemistry and sarcasm was too funny, but you could taste their attraction to one another. Kaylyn and Victor had a moment that touched my heart for them to be so young and in tuned to what life has faced them both with. I give this read 5 stars . Great job Asia Monique, this was my 1st story written by you but will not be my last. Keep'em coming!!
This was a fast paced read and in one instance I was confused because it was talking about one thing and jumped to another in which I had to go back to make sure I didn't skip anything. Karsyn proved to Nimah he was nothing like Santino. Nimah's running had her finding something she wasn't searching for. Malloryville held so many secrets that Karsyn was clueless to. I loved how he stepped up to be there for his sister and provided her with the love and care their parents failed to give. Nimah held onto he hurt for so long and it was refreshing knowing she trusted Karsyn enough to let her guard down and finally reveal what she was afraid of. Santino really tried it and it would've been nice to know how his father handled the newfound information. Karter finally came through for his son after all. Karsyn and Nimah built an undeniable bond and it was definitely real.
I loved the story line. It was a mixture of Love crime drugs mystery and young love. I hope there are spin offs coming from this. I want to see how Kaylyn and Victor end and if something will come of Yari and Lenny. Good job. Its my first read by this author but not my last.
I loved this book it was nothing short of being great .... Karsyn was the greatest ever and definitely bookbae worthy in my eyes. I can't wait for the next book I feel like Yari and Montana might have a story to tell.
This was a pretty good read... I did enjoy the storyline... This book did jump a lot... Like I would be reading then all of a sudden in the next paragraph it is a few days later... There was no separation in time... Rhere was also a lot if errors with words being left out... These things did pull away from the story a bit.. I think if these were taken car if this could have definitely been a great read... I liked Nimah... She was dealing with so much and trying to deal with all of it on her own was becoming overwhelming... In order to protect her family or so she thought she just up and moved... She was jor sure if this was a good moved but she did it anyway... For her this turned out to be one of the best decisions that she ever made... Vecause this move changes her life a lot and for the better... Karsyn was a great guy... He was smart, had his own business and was single... He was just going about his business until one phone call in the middle of the night from his sister changed all of that... He was left to take care of his 15 year old sister and just found our for the first time that she is pregnant... Their parents just disappeared in the middle of the night and left her to fend for herself... Now Karsyn is left to try to raise and take care of his little sister and help her with her pregnancy... It was a big adjustment, but he was able to handle it... Things are going well with then until his sister Kaylyn always walking and having pains that took her down... Lucky for both Karsyn and Kaylyn Nimah was around... One chance meeting by accident built a relationship that took us on a journey in order to find happiness... Karsyn and Nimah both had a lot going on in their life... But when it was all said and done... Real love won in the end...
Wow! I've never read a book by Asia Monique before, but I thoroughly enjoyed Tell Me It's Real. This author is very talented, and I love that her romances are very steamy and hot!🔥🔥 Nimah and Karsyn are a super sexy couple. Nimah, for all she had been through in her marriage, and with what she was facing on the run, is beautiful, caring, and strong. I liked how she immediately took to caring and befriending Karsyn's little sister. And Karsyn--aka Syn--is sex and alpha personified! That man does not play around when it comes to the people he cares about. From taking control of his life at 17, to being a big brother his sister could always count on, to being patient and understanding when it came to knowing what his woman--Nimah--needed to heal and reclaim her life, he is definitely one of my new book boyfriends.
This was a great story, but things did move rather swiftly, and it covered so much--crime families, teenage pregnancy, on the run from dangerous threats, etc. I think the author did a pretty good job fitting all of this in this book. However, some things did leave me with questions and there are few other parts that I would have loved to be fleshed out a bit more. I enjoyed being inside Karsyn's and Nimah's personal thoughts and emotions, but I didn't think that we needed to hear from his little sister, Kaylyn in that way. We could have easily learned all of this info through the main characters; plus it would have probably left more room to focus more on Karsyn's and Nimah's relationship. Also, there were some grammatical errors, but I thought Nimah and Karsyn were an amazing couple, and I really wanted to see them spend more time together. I just couldn't get enough of them! 💙💙
I'm so in love with Karsyn and Nimah love story. I hate Nimah had to go through being beat by Santino and Yari having to witness her sister being abused. I really think their brothers, Omar and Xavier, would've beaten him with bats. It was meant for Nimah to help Kaylyn and meet him Karsyn. Karsyn was a rock and life reserver for Nimah while she was in hiding from Santino. I felt bad for Kaylyn when their parents, Karter and Valencia, left her pregnant at a bus station but I understood they did what was best by leaving her with Karsyn. I hate how Victor handled Kaylyn during her pregnancy and how his mom was sending him away before Karsyn decided to relocate. I'm glad Karsyn didn't take over the family business when his Uncle Rocky offered him to even though Lenny took over for his family. I can't wait to read what's next with Kaylyn,Victor Sr. and Baby Vic.
I enjoyed this read. It had a great story line and two great leads. I enjoyed hearing from the sisters pov, but I hope that means she has her own story to finish later. I feel like some things went un answered however. We didn't really get an epilogue so I'm wondering if this story is continued through all the side characters. Little sis has her baby but, does Victor step up? The older brothers retire but, then what. Yari and her man face trouble in the media and then what? Karsyn said he handled the situation but, does the dad deliver? I would have also liked a bit more action with the ex husband situation. She moves, shuts her family out, and dyes her hair because he's supposedly this big scary boss, but then nothing happeneds to her, not even a little something. Overall good story but I wish there was more.
This was my first time reading anything from this writer and I'm sold .I don't think I have the words to say how really wonderful this story was. This story is about life and how it can hit hard and how you can pull yourself up.I love how the writer handles they heavy topics in this story.Every time I read how the heroine of this story pushed on and did the unexpected I clapped. Now let me tell you that the brother in this story is so so sexy, you are going to want one! Karen proves that with love and stubbornness you can win.The writer gives a splendid look at this couple, there life and the people who are in it.You are going to love this story and this writer.I tell you the phrase "I'm just keeping it real"gets a whole new twist on really what Real Is!
Are you looking for a great read? Steamy connected sex and good guy saves an abused yet strong female. This is it because Karsyn is everything Nymah needed. Santino gets exactly what he deserves and this love that protects her and builds from day one will have you breathless. There story is so realistic, yet dreamy. Too have access to so much money yet remain humble is why I fell in love with everything about Karsyn. You have got to cuddle up with bae, read this book and fall deeper in love with life.
Asia girl you did it again & you definitely have a fan for life!Baby this book was just so good I couldn’t stop reading I even read it at work when I was supposed to be doing my job lol. I love, love and these couples you write about definitely have me in my feelings! You keep me interested I never get bored with your books! To all the readers that haven’t read Asia Monique books..... START ❤️❤️❤️
There is nothing like a good love story and this was one of them. Nimah went through all that stuff with Santino but I’m glad she found her happy ending. Karsyn was the definition of a real man. He was loyal, smart and handsome and had just the right amount of thugness to him. I hope we get to hear more about Kaylyn and Victor. Also if anything ever happens between Yari and Lenny.
It was a good read. I like how protective Karsyn was of both his sister and Nimah. I hated that Nimah waited so long to tell anyone her secrets. It was a cute love story, with Karsyn coming to save the day. I did like that Nimah wanted to sort out everything with her family and ex husband before jumping into anther relationship. There were a few minor errors, but overall I enjoyed the read. Looking forward to the next book.
This is my first read by Author Asia Monique and what can I say?? I will definitely be reading more of her work. Very impressive. Nimah was a strong woman who got out of an abusive situation the best way she knew how. With the help of new friends and family she was able to conquer her fears and love herself again and find new love. Bravo! Can't wait to see what you have next!
Loved it !! Karsyn was willing to pull that Thug out if needed for Nimah ! They complemented eachother beautifully. I can't wait to here more from them in the future but to definitely see what happens to Kaylyn in the very very no so near future !!! Ready for book #7 !!!
I absolutely loved this story...it started off great from the very beginning. Asia you never ceases to amaze me. Every book you have written has been great. I highly recommend this book as a must read. I love Karsyn and Nimah together. I would love to hear Kaylyn story when she’s all grown up...until next time...
This was a really nice romantic storyline. I really enjoyed it. It was very engaging and interesting. The storyline was really good too. Karsyn and Nimah were just right for each other. They complimented each other and you could have felt that connection between them. This is definitely a read that everyone would enjoy. Good read!
This was a quick read. Wished there was a little more, like meeting the character Santino the son. I understand the story was about the two main characters. As standalones go, I thought this was a good one. First time reading this author’s work and plan to read more.
Once again Asia Monique put out another dope romance novel. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. Karsyn was love for real. His character was so stand up with a hint of ruggedness. I loved this whole storyline and how it all played out. I never get tired of reading love stories and Asia always comes through with a hit.
I never read anything from this author before now. This book was amazing from start to finish. The only thing in an comment on that I wasn’t a fan of the lyrics of the song being written, would have been ok with you just telling us who sang the song an the name of the song.
Karsyn was Bae. He took on everyone's problems. Nimah really found her Prince Charming. Kaylyn is such a sweet young Lady hopefully Vic will really be in their son life. She also need a book. Yari and Montana needs one also
A cute little story that is well written with a steady flow. Likeable characters that are well developed and interesting. Good story line that is different from my normal read, but definitely worth the read.
This definitely was a Real love story. Ninimah definitely had a to to deal with but she broke out her shell and protected herself. Karsyn was just a knight and shinning knight for everyone and he deserved all the happiness he found
I always enjoy Asia's writing style. Her books remind me of kimani romance and BET books i use to read as a teenager. Nimah and Karsyn are my new faves. They were just the ideal couple and I'm happy they sort out each other.
The story snagged me from the start.I was read to see this heroine through the turmoil of her former life. A few parts in the story disconnected, but overall it was a good read.
Really enjoyed it from beginning to end. Really liked Karsyn and Nimah together. Karsyn, is the definition of a real man. Would love to hear Kaylyn story once she's all grown up. Good job Asia Monique.
This book was dope... Nimah found love where she least expected it and that was with Karsyn he showed her how to love again... Kaylyn and Victor I want to know more about them all grown up cant wait for that
