Kennedy Layne is a USA Today bestselling author. She draws inspiration for her romantic thrillers in part from her not-so-secret second life as a wife of a retired Marine Master Sergeant. He doubles as her critique partner, beta reader, and military consultant. Kennedy also has a deep love for cozy mysteries, thrillers, and basically any book that can keep her guessing until the very end. They live in the Midwest with their menagerie of pets. The loyal dogs and mischievous cats appreciate her writing days as much as she does, usually curled up in front of the fireplace.
Of all the stupid, idiotic, ridiculous, inane books I have read, this one was way up on top. Having read the two prior books in this series, with only one left to go, I wonder if I really want to waste my time reading more of the drivel I came across in this one. What a couple of air-headed, lame-brained, ditzes these two ladies turned out to be. If Liam and Jack really want to go out with them again, they should have their heads examined. The two guys spent more time with each other at the party than they ever got to spend with the two clowns they unfortunately took to the party. Needless to say, I do not recommend this book to anyone. Do yourself a favor - don't read it!
There is only so much inane silliness I can stand, and I 3 reached I’ve reached it with this novel. The main character is so myopically blind that she stumbled through the plot creating silly incident after silly incident until you just want to hold her down and slap her. I feel like the author is trying to make her a funny ditz whose antics are the reason for madcap incidents in the plot, but instead she comes across as an oblivious self-centred moron. Nope. I’m ending the series here.
I'm already bored with this series after three books. I skimmed just to get to the resolution of the mystery. Raven and crew try to close the unsolved murder case, despite warnings from just about everyone. Ted's unusual origin also comes to light. Typos I noticed while skimming: its should be it's when a contraction, laying used for lying, the plural of no is noes not no's, stray period, missing word, apostrophe s plural.
took many days to finish this as I kept putting it down - too frustrated to continue reading. This story has so much potential but the constant side talk with Leo the familiar and the brash craziness of the main character are just too much for me. I really wanted to continue and like this series but I think this is the last one for now.
Sometimes the past is left in the past. This time Raven is determined to prove her man isn't a murderer. There is a new years eve party involved and a midnight kiss. It's really a good book with an ending that will leave you smiling.
This one just irritated me. I get they’re on a date, blah blah blah but Raven and Heidi just had to investigate and run around doing nothing. They mystery itself was so-so.
Enchanting Blend (Paramour Bay Book #3) The Paramour Bay Series by Kennedy Layne proved to be full of fun cozy mysteries full of paranormal intrigue, and heartwarming charm. Set in the enchanting seaside town of Paramour Bay, the series follows Raven Marigold, who is a relatable and endearing character who discovers she’s a witch. From the very first book, I was drawn into a world filled with magical mishaps, quirky townsfolk, and a touch of humor that kept the tone light and engaging. Paramour Bay came alive with its quaint shops, mysterious coves, and a community that’s as eccentric as it is lovable. Ms. Layne’s writing style is approachable and immersive, making it so easy for me to lose myself in the pages (in a great way – NOT in a ‘I have no idea of what’s going on’ way 😊). Each book introduces a new mystery, often tied to the supernatural, and the twists are clever without being overly complex - perfect for fans of cozy mysteries. So, whether you’re a fan of paranormal tales, cozy mysteries, or simply looking for a feel-good series to curl up with, Paramour Bay is a magical escape that will leave you smiling. It’s a perfect brew of mystery, magic, and heart. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a touch of whimsy with their whodunits. Let the Binge Begin. Happy Reading…
What terrific read. Okay it was a bit out there but that is what we expect from this series. Great characters that are well developed but constantly still surprise you. It is nearly New Year's Eve and her BFF has come to stay for a couple of days. Just as they are closing up the shop, until the New Year, Cora comes in and tries to offer an olive branch. Even though she and the most of the residents still think that her Gran was responsible for a murder 53 years ago. She feels that she has to investigate to clear the family name. Getting the old police file is easier than she thought. However trying to see into the past proves more difficult. Can they find out what happened when they attend the big bash being planned at the wax museum. Why does Ted and her familiar not want them to attend? Who is the Fred that popped out in their questions to her familiar? Will they get answers if they manage to find his wallet (a location spell has shown it is at the museum)? Why is her mother crushing the ball? Who killed the man?

Grab your pointy party hats, bring your mystical noisemakers, and ring in the New Year with the quirky characters of Paramour Bay! This is a good book about how the world has gone wonky when a twenty year old mystery is suddenly unfolded. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Raven Marigold takes up Paramour Bay's unsolved murder with the intent to clear her grandmother's name. Liam gives her the case file so she and her best friend can look into things. In addition, New Year's Eve is coming up and Raven has her first date with Liam. However, Raven gets a real shock while at the wax museum where the town's New Year's party is being held.
While the story was good, there were some things that detracted from it for me. There were quite a few typos. In addition, Raven's constant arguing with Leo is getting old. I realize there needs to be some conflict but it seems to go overboard. Raven also talks about witchcraft in public places with her best friend which seems to be risky even if she thinks they're alone.
Back to Paramour Bay and Raven, Heidi, Mr Leo and Ted, and if course Liam the Sheriff and Jack the Detective.
Heidi is aware of Ravens little secret, but with a 50 year old murder to solve, which involves Raven's Grandmother, Raven has to come yo with some ingenious ways to clear her name, but was she involved in the case in the first place?
Great cozy mystery once again, this series does not disappoint, love the banter between Raven and Mr Leo.
This is a good series, but "Enchanting Blend" was less enjoyable for me. Raven spends the entire story trying to clear the blemish of a fifty-three year old cold case from her grandmother's name. What makes this story so annoying is the near-constant and unnecessary flow of lies, half-truths, evasions, and secrets in this family, Sheesh! The characters are still likeable; I just hope the author moves past this foolishness for future installments.
Raven together with her bestie, Heidi, decide to try and solve a 53 year old murder that her grandmother was a suspect in. Raven finally gets to go on her first date with Liam but in a group setting....local New Years Eve Party 🥳 Leo is an absolute hoot and definitely keeps things entertaining❣️Looking forward to the next one.
Enchanting Blend, by Kennedy Layne, is another successful installment in the Paramour Bay Cozy Paranormal Mystery series. In this book, we get some answers to longstanding mysteries surrounding the characters, and have a mysteriously good time doing it! Another great read.
The best of the lot. Yes, the MC still talks to you. Yes. the cat now talks to you too. No, the characters haven't become more complex. But finally, finally, there is a mystery you care about resolved; you find out who killed Norman and where Ted came from. The rest I leave up to readers with far more patience than I.
New Year's Eve is just a week away and Raven decides to solve a 53-year-old murder and hopefully clear her grandmother's name.
I really enjoyed spending time with Raven and the other quirky characters in this series. I also enjoyed the romance between her and Liam. This was another light and fun read just like the previous books in the series.
"A family of witches, humans, a golem, and a ragtag familiar." Raven is off to solve an unsolved case from 53 years ago where her own grandmother was the main suspect,, determined to clear her family's name Raven and her Bestie Heidi go under investigation!
I love this town and this family, can not wait for the next book which has a Bonafede Ghost!
This book was okay. It wasn't my favorite of the series. Mostly I get frustrated because Raven and Leo are always bickering and her mother is so controlling. P!is she kept run ing off and leaving Liam. Ugh!
An enchanting blend is right. A sweet cozy mystery of a 53 year old Murder. Was her grandma involved? Does her mother and her familiar know? What are they hiding!
Raven is new to witching and learning without another witch to guide her is not easy. Her grandmother died and left her a home and herbal tea business in a small town. She is trying to fit in and get to know the hunky sheriff.
Trouble is brewing in the family as secrets are being held, not just now, but for many years.A new Witch has a new boyfriend and a talking cat to help her along, so what if the cat has a shadowy attitude, he helps out when he tells like it. A fun Story!
An exciting New Year’s Eve, indeed. I figured out part of the mystery but not fortunately not all. Almost all of our favorites come to the party at the wax museum. Will there be sparks when the ball drops? Read and see!
Raven and Heidi decide to look into a decades old unsolved murder much to the objections of Raven's mom, Leo, and Ted. Cute story. I'm enjoying this series.
