Now this is novel that I would love to see adapted as a drama. Preferably with Yang Yang Zheng Shuang in the main leads. Yes, I did imagine the two of them in the roles while reading the story. In some interviews that the author wanted Wallace Chung in the lead along side with Zhao Li Ying but I think their time to act as college sweethearts are long gone now. Even Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang are nearing the ages where they might look a tad bit too old to play such characters but I personally think they have another safe 5 years or more to play characters of that ages limit.
Also in some translated interviews I found out that the author was heavily influenced by Gu Man and it clearly can be seen in her writing. From the setting to how the characters act, there are many similarities to the characters of her stories. Even the main leads, specially Mo Ting, shows some similar characteristics that really puts him and Xiao Nai in the scope of siblings. Another main similarity I found out were the friends. Personally I really liked how there were plenty of friends who were forever helpful for both the leads and the lack of any tragic or heavy materials was refreshing. One of the facts that put me off was how the FL constantly seem to put up a fight for any physical activity (at least in the first half of the story)and ML seemed to passively persuade her into them. This was the only part I wasn't that happy with, although it can be considered minor (like mentioned this was in the first half only afterwards she was pretty active in it). Also one realistic plot line I found sympathizing was the divorce between the parents and how children are affected by it. Not sure if I missed it but the true reason for the accident was never revealed and as to why An Ning did not like Jin Cheng and his slight obsession with her was not completely clarified either. This could be due to the fact that I was reading a translation and few extra chapters were missing.
If anyone is looking for a story to just pass time without any serious matters to be read about, this would be highly recommended. A cute read for a time without any heavy material to weigh on the mind.
This story really wants to be cute, and sometimes it is, but the main couple don't really communicate. They skate past all the underlying potential conflicts and float in the bewildered, uncertain kind of happiness above it all. Because of that, their relationship felt very fast, sweet yet empty. I had hoped that the story would lead to more depth eventually, but it didn't really happen. I didn't feel moved at all. It's not to the point of having no sparks of chemistry, but more like wet sparks in the rain? Tiny little sparks that want to ignite into flame but didn't really go beyond that. The other thing that bothered me is that Mo Ting was way more into the relationship even towards the very end of the book. An Ning hesitated a lot, and half the time she seemed uncertain about her own willingness. It just didn't feel too equal.
The friends are pretty fun at first then become insensitive and annoying later, at least in my eyes. Qiang Wei in particular doesn't really seem to be mindful about An Ning's feelings much, constantly dragging her out to show off to other people. The annoyance also carries on with how every single person around falls for the main couple in passing because they're oh-so-beooutifool and then acts jealously towards either of the main couple, and this gets very tiring later as it keeps happening over and over.
I got creep vibes from that one uncle guy, very uncomfortable, and even until the end the situation involving him wasn't quite cleared up. No full explanation, no resolution, no satisfaction. The only thing I'm really pleased about is how An Ning kept her stance towards the step-mother. No matter how nice someone is, it's not her responsibility to like them, especially considering the fact that she's the other woman who broke her parents' marriage. Just for doing that, her niceness is negated. I totally get An Ning's reaction here: won't be antagonistic, but don't expect to be friends.
It's really not a bad book. It just doesn't quite compare to, say, Gu Man's works, where they're fluffy, wish-fulfillment romance but still with heart and chemistry.
Also, it turns out that I've read another work by this author before, Full of my love to you, and now remembering it, it's very similar in tone: the frivolous, nosy friends; the kind of distant yet supposedly loving couple; the cutesy speaking style which I like (all the "la" seems really cute to me). I guess I'm just not into this author's style.

Thanks to Peanuts for translating another C-novel!! I enjoyed reading this - the interactions between An Ning and her roommates (Qiang Wei, Yang, and Mao) is just downright funny and really interesting. There is also some family drama thrown in from the side of An Ning, but that part wasn't so developed. Of course you get the gist of what happened, why it happened and its aftermath on the lead female character. Basically, it was kept simple.
Mo Ting is said to be a protege. After reading B2HMY, I can't recall something MT can't do. He can cook, play basketball, intelligent, super attractive he already works at a top position at such a young age, he's responsible, reliable; he's so unreal lol!! If I ever meet someone like that I did bail lol!!
An Ning is also considered to be attractive, intelligent and knows how to lay off people with just one sentence lol!! She just totally catches people off guard and render them speechless, what's even more funny is she doesn't think it would have such an effect on others. Also she forgets the faces of people she doesn't care about. And that particular trait of hers is what caused the lead male character such frustration and concern as to pursue her.
Moreover it's a fast read consisting of 15 chapters and a couple of epilogues. For those who have read Gu Man's Just One Smile is Very Alluring and Mo Bao Fei Bao's Really, Really Miss You, you might see some similarities here and there.
If you ever watch cdrama, Love O2O, you will most definitely love this webnovel. It has the same vibe (campus love, devoted-intelligent-dry male lead, grateful-adorable female lead).
It's also isn’t dramatic, peaceful and heartwarming story. Only with a bit more spice [R-18]. I have an urge to rewatch Love O2O very badly.
2 - 2.5 stars. This book has a very simple plot with a bit of romance and humor. However, due to cultural differences, some contents are quite difficult to understand.
A quick read. A heart-warming story. Almost too many jokes and puns between the character for my liking, which led to the slow story development in the first half of the book.
