Rory Wiltz is in over her head again. Not only are her boyfriend’s parents coming to town (they hate her, for the record) but she’s just found out that her cousin, Rhi, and Hunter’s brother, Carver, have escaped witch prison. As if that wasn’t enough, dead bodies start dropping in Hazelville, but the clues are nowhere to be found. Rory and her friends have a few theories, though.
Rory will have to tap into her strongest magic yet to stop an all out witch war from taking place. In the process, she’ll learn even more deep dark secrets from her family’s notorious past. Is she destined to join the dark side like so many Wiltz witches before her? Or can she break the family curse and put a stop to the evil once and for all? This time, the stakes are higher than ever. Not only is Hazelville in danger, but possibly the whole world as well. Once all is said and done, Rory’s life will never be the same again...
I've always been drawn to all things witchy and mysterious, so it's no surprise that my first book should be about a witch solving a murder! I'm the author of the Book & Candle cozy mystery series. The first three books, A Witch's Guide to Murder, A Witch's Guide to Werewolves, and A Witch's Guide to Hauntings, are available now!
Double the family drama, double the villains, and an unexpected twist are the basis for this amazing finale to the series! Jam-packed with action and surprises, this journey teaches Rory important lessons and sets the stage for her evolution toward who she is meant to be. The storytelling actually makes up for the editing lapses.
A really good plot that kept building the tension nicely and then just fizzled out. Shame! A dead body outside of town and now the news that her cousin and her boyfriend's brother have escaped from the witch prison that they had been sentenced to. Worse her boyfriend's parents are coming to visit. Another dead body and a dinner from hell make her wish that the day would just end. However two agents from the Council ask her for help in tracking down the prisoners. Are they really needing her help? A stolen grimoire, a lifetime of servitude, an attack on the town and time travel are mixed into a plot that should have been outstanding. Sadly the ending let the whole thing down. Nor did it answer how she now got on with his parents nor what was happening in their hometown.
