Things have changed, some things stay the same. One thing I know for sure, no matter what, Rose will forever be mine. In this life and the next. Even if I break her wish, even if I break her heart. Some things are hard to let go. Harder than I anticipated. And that's okay. I'll have to keep it hidden, even on her favorite holiday of the year. I will keep this secret. Merry 'Black' Christmas. *Christmas Novella*
USA Today Best Selling Author T.L. Smith loves to write her characters with flaws so beautiful and dark that you can’t turn away from. Her books have been translated into several languages. If you don’t find her in her home town of Queensland, Australia you can usually find her travelling around the world to sitting on a beach in Bali, to exploring Alcatraz in San Francisco or walking the streets of New York.
I was so excited to hear that there was to be another story in this series, a favourite of mine, and what a terrific novella it is too.
Green starts off with a quiet bang, quite literally! Immediately we are thrown back into the world of Liam Black. Back to where he recognises his own needs yet knows his promise to his love, Rose, will be broken.
Told from both Black and Rose’s points of view we quickly get updated into their current frames of mind, what’s happened to them and how they feel about things. This is especially important for Black seeing as he is such a quiet communicator, preferring to use nonverbal indicators.
Liam Black is such a gripping character, one you can’t help but be drawn to, well I can’t anyway! When he does something he does it with panache and the style for which he is known. Rose has such an inner strength it amazes you, I find myself loving her for it and her huge loving heart. It’s great to get to know the children as they are a little older too, especially Hayden and Isabelle.
T. L. Smith did not let me down! This book was a great ending to a powerful love story!!! I would not be surprised if she writes another book about Black in the near future( maybe I just hope she does)!!!
It's so good to be back with the Liam and Rose and the family I've missed them so much. On the surface all is well but Liam has an itch but what will happen when Rose finds out because secrets never stay that way.
This may be a novella however it's not short on content we are very quickly back into Liam Blacks dark world. It was great to catch up with everyone and find out how they all are. It's set at Christmas time and see see Liam the family man his parenting skills made me giggle. With enough drama to keep die hard fans happy this was a really good addition to the Black series.
Gigantic Sigh after reading Green...... THIS BOOK WAS PHENOMENAL!!! And it Was TOTALLY Black and Rose!! These Characters have a special place in my heart because Black was the very 1st T.L Smith book I ever read and they just STUCK with me, and I was so very happy to get a little more of them all!! We have seen Liam Black fight his demons and conquer each and every one of them with the love of Rose and his children to guide him, When those demons came back we find out that Love does indeed conquer ALL. T.L Smith knows how to suck you in with her angst and suspense, He characters LOVE to the extreme and it shows with each and every word that she puts to the pages.
From the moment I heard about a Christmas Novella for Black & Rose I was eagerly (but not so patiently) awaiting more. I loved every word, it was bone crushingly beautiful.
Green sees the return of two of our favs Black & Rose, it’s packed with the usual banter Yeah we have come to adore from these two leads. Throughout this story you find out what life is like for Rose, Black and their 3 children. I’m not going to lie if you have read Black you will understand that Liam’s soul is Black, it’s how he’s lived his life but Liam Black as a DAD well TL just raised the bar high on this one. He is the ultimate DILF. He made me Swoon (Hard), tear up and devour each page as though I never wanted it to end.
Can the darkness that lives deep within Blacks soul stay there or is the itch that he has too much of a temptation to not scratch it one in a while too much for him to bear?
I thoroughly enjoyed Green and the chance for more Liam and Rose. You will be transported back into their world, a world where Liam likes to call the shots but is very much not in charge. TL will pull at your heartstrings in this one, it’s beautiful yet emotional. There are swoon worthy moments, laugh out loud moments and some downright deliciously dirty moments.
Oh holy lovely darkness your name shall be Liam Black forever and ever...Liam Black is back and I love him as much as I loved him before... Celebrating Christmas in the house Black can't be a party like you or me would plan... Liam has business to attend to, Hayden and Isabella are all grown up and not the sparkly shining stepford kids and I loved them even more for that. And Rose is like a Christmas candle light... Warm and willowy to the cold breathes of life, a shiny beacon to guide Black back home always... This Christmas is challenging because old and new characters involve themself in this Black Christmas event and bring super extra irritation and emotions to all the extended Black family. It's a great novella for all of you who can't get enough of Liam Black and his little growing family.
Oh Liam Black, I have missed you so!!!! TL Smith has fulfilled my Christmas wish list this year with this one darkly festive and twisted novella that is Green!
We return to Black and Rose's world 5 years on from where we left them, and on the Eve of Rose's favourite time of year, Christmas. As you would expect from Ms Smith, this is not going to be a merry tale of peaceful family dinners, stolen kisses under mistletoe or carols sung around the piano.
This is not your average suburban family after all, and if you thought Black was possessive and protective with Rose, multiply that and colour it with his signature darkness and you have Daddy Black!! And I didn't think I could love the broody hitman of few words anymore than I already did! Clearly I was wrong, this man is the ultimate Christmas gift!
Despite the clear impact being a father has had on our anti-hero, Black's dark soul is still permeating his very existence, and coupled with outside threats and the inner turmoil of family life, the re-emergence of his true self threatens to turn his life with Rose upside down. Can Black really turn his back on who he is deep in his very being for Rose and his kids?
I absolutely loved this return to my most favourite of all TL Smith's worlds! Liam Black started my love affair with this author, and I for one was ecstatic to see him embrace his dark soul again, and re-visit with he and Rose and their extended and perfectly dysfunctional family.
It really is going to be a very merry Black Christmas!!
“He makes me focus on only one thing. Him. Liam Black is a master at fuckery, just like he’s a master assassin.”
When you’ve held the monster inside on a tight leash for so long can you really just let him free and truly believe he will be easily caged for a second time? After dying for his monster within and losing everything he ever held dear to taking his next breath and finding them again the Black series has been a rollercoaster ride from start to finish and Green only adds to this wild adventure. Black is fighting his urges, desperate to feed the beast and sate his unending hunger but he knows he risks losing them again if he gives in but the temptation is just too great. Like an addict he has secrets to hide the truth and he jeopardises his hard won stability with his family for an itch he can never quite scratch. Having lost none of his sex appeal, his love for Rose is clearly expressed through his desire for her and sometimes actions speak louder than words. Set at Christmas it’s a heart wrenching storyline that brings all our favourite characters back together again and showcases everything amazing about this series. Loved it!
If you like the continued obsessive characters of Rose & Liam. You'll love this short Christmas story about the bumps in their fractured family dynamics. Even their fiercely loyal friends Jake & Ally are back to try to keep things sane. Lets not forget, Liam lost 5 yrs of his life & presumed dead when he was almost murdered. He lost his memory. Liam doesn't know how to communicate with his children. He is jealous when his adopted son wants to have his biological mom for Christmas dinner. They all know its for money but Rose will give her the benefit of the doubt. Even if it hurts her as Hayden Mom. Isabella has started dating. Guess what? All boys will die literally if they hurt his daughter. Liam Jr. He has missed is formative years. His friend Jake is really more like his father. Which Liam is grateful But it's a hole in his heart because of the time he missed. The only thing that keeps him together is Rose. His continued obsession with Rose. But he has broken his promise. He has gone back to his old life during Christmastime. Rose said when he came back that he had to choose, family or murder! What happens to Rose & Liam when his lies come back to haunt him and he can lose Rose & his family for good.
Sometimes it’s nice to be reacquainted with characters that you love and miss. And by god have I missed Black and Rose.
We get to see Liam Black be the man no-one thought he could be...a loving family man. However, his past which he had tried to steer clear from, calls to him and he can’t say no. Not this time.
I loved this novella. I loved that we got to see Liam in a more vulnerable way. We got to see him really struggle with himself and the sacrifices he made, to have the life he wanted with Rose and their family. But I also loved that we got to see ‘Black’. The formidable person everyone fears.
I couldn’t have been happier with this novella. It was the absolute perfect addition to this series, and gave it an ending that melts your heart and leaves you smiling from ear to ear.
A definite recommendation from me, however, to fully understand everything Liam Black is, read the series first.
Green by T. L. Smith is a perfect continuation of one of my favourite series of all time. I fell heart, body and soul for Black and his uniqueness. His whole persona just bewitched me. I had to reread some of passages, as I thought I had it all wrong in my, but nope, I really did read all that. Author Smith’s talent is limitless. I am constantly robbed of breath at the captivating brilliance that is the bold, in your face, hold nothing back rawness af Black. Rose is a mystery. I don't know how their attraction is so strong or how never ending their love is, but they have an unbreakable and enviable bond. A brutally descriptive, beautifully passionate love story that is only for the strong, die hard romance lovers who can take an emotional beating and come back for more, again and again. There is no soft and frilly edges to this one. Just knock down epicness that will rob you of words and breath. You will lose your heart to Black forever. 5 dark and deceptively stunning stars.
And Black is back!!! Well not in the sense that I loved him for in the beginning but in an even better sense in my opinion. Liam Black has to be one of my favourite characters, that I have read to date. He isn't all sweetness and fun, he isn't your typical arsehole. He is a hitman and gives no fucks about it either.
In this Christmas novella we are treated to a look at Liam, the family man and the man who is so in love still with Rose and their family, it made my heart swell and I smiled huge. But the darkness calls to Black and the circumstances and events prevent him from turning his back on it. This book is about his battle with himself and the sacrifices he must make to maintain the life he wants, no that he needs with Rose.
This novella is a huge recommend for me but you must read the Black series to get all the benefits, feels and understanding that make Liam Black who he is.
The glorious Liam Black returns in this Christmas novella.
His love for Rose is as intense as ever. Even after all the years that have passed, his love for her is the one true light in his life.
This book shows Liam living as a family man, his dark days behind him. Or are they? There are situations just begging for some Black-style justice. But answering that call risks pushing Rose away, maybe for good. What will he choose?
The only thing wrong with this book is that it isn’t long enough! I could read about Liam and Rose all day. Their love really is the love of a lifetime, which shows no sign of dimming.
These characters own a piece of my heart and I shall never tire of reading about their exploits. I hope we get to catch up with them again.
Kay I finished it. Hmmm my thoughts… a bit too graphic for me and way to many of these graphic scenes occurring in a book of this length. Would I recommend? No. Why you may ask? It was really just a happily ever after book. They had a little disagreement, rose forgave him in make up sex. Then they got married. Like um okay boring. It was v unnecessary, she should hv just left the series as they were. Nothing in this book changed anything or mattered. Everything was just how it had been in the rest of the book e.g. Hayden’s mum still didn’t love him and only turned up to their door step for money… irrelevant and who cares.

Green is the 4th book Black series and is a small insight into how Black is struggling with his inner demons that have been knocking on his door. Will he do the right thing? All Rose wants is the perfect Christmas and things are getting in the way. She knows That Black is keeping secrets but she’s not sure what! Will Rose and Black get there HEA? An engaging Novella that allows you to catch up on characters that you fell in love with and find out what their future holds for them. Read Green you won’t be disappointed.
Gah back into the world of Liam Black and what a world it is... we see a family man, a man who adores his wife and family, but we also see the darkness that always threatened to pull him back in. This novella is a Christmas themed, Rose is looking forward to a Black family Christmas, but when the darkness starts to draw Liam back Rose makes it clear that it is his old life or her and their family! Liam must decide whether he can stay in the light that is Rose and his family or be pulled back into the darkness alone forever!
The soul wrenching love between Black and Rose is the reason he became one of my true book boyfriends and the reason I return to read the series from time to time to get my fix.
This is a novella and you will need to dive into the series first - Black, Red, White to understand the character back stories.
Will the ghost of Christmas past and other skeletons that pop up challenge the bond they have?
Another beautifully written, dark love story. It was just too short a time with Black for my liking!
Again I love Black and Jake with my heart also Hay was super adorable and scared me the crap out when that thing at the bar happened but Rose omg I wanted to punched her... I dont remember her as this annoying and whiny! She knew what kind of man Black was... why suddenly she wanted to changed him? What the heck?!?! What bothers me the most was that she punished him for wanting to avenge his son! Why? The arse deserve it! Ugh she bugged me so much and ruined the book for me. It sucks because the book has potential but didn't live up its expectations.

is a dark romance that pulls you into a world of secrets and danger. T.L. Smith's writing is captivating, making it hard to put the book down. The story follows , whose intense chemistry and complex backgrounds create a rollercoaster of emotions. The plot twists keep you guessing, and the characters are well-developed, adding depth to the narrative. While some scenes are intense and not for the faint-hearted, the book's gripping storyline and passionate romance make it a must-read for fans of the genre. Overall, it is a thrilling, addictive read.
Ohhh how I missed Black he is one of my favorite book boyfriends. The love Rose and Black have still makes me crazy, they are so good together, we get to see another aspect of Black as a family man and it was refresing to read it The pancake part had me laughing so hard. A perfect green addition to the series. The book left me craving a little more perhaps another one in the future? Black and Rose's children maybe?
I love the Black series by TL Smith. Green is included in that for sure. Rose and Liam have the perfect life and 3 awesome kids. It's all anyone can ask for, but something is bothering Liam. He misses his old life, so he goes back to it without telling Rose. Will they survive his life choices? Is their love enough to overcome what he does again? You'll have to read to find out. 5 star read Ms. Smith for sure!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...
This was such a nice homecoming to our old crazy friends and of course Black, who hasn’t changed... much.
I loved seeing everyone and how their lives have changed over time, but not everything is as simple as it seems.
There some trouble in the Black household, but if you know Black than you know he will handle whatever needs to be done; unfortunately, it seems the past is roaring into their present.
You definitely need to read Black, Red and even White to get the whole effect of this book and oh my, what a book!! I actually re-read the series when I seen this one had been released - jees i missed this family and didn't realise how much!
It's an excellent book, dark, light, addictive, heartfelt, passionate and hot and it's downright awesome
Green by T.L. Smith was the perfect ending to an outstanding series. I love how after so much suspense, insane twists and heartfelt moments that I have the biggest, most stupidest smile on my face. Black and Rose, along with Jake and Addy are some of the most exciting characters I've had the pleasure of reading. No other words are needed, simply read the Black series to find out for yourself ;) Highly recommended
I loved how this novella brought all of our favorite characters back together for Christmas. I honestly didn't know what I would get from this book based on the synopsis, but it didn't disappoint. It was as good as all the full length books. The ending of this book is the best part, I'd been waiting for this, and wasn't sure it was going to happen. If you've read all the books in the series up to this book, it would be a shame not to read this one as well.
I'll probably never get enough Liam Black and Rose! It was a great surprise to see this family again. I loved seeing Liam as a dad. Made me really crave the littles stories.
Get ready to join Liam and Rose and their family for the holidays. But it wouldn't be a Black holiday without a little trouble. Will their love come out on top or will the darkness consume them this christmas.
