“The Second Chance Rancher”, by Kate Pearce, features a deliciously direct, literal and bigmouthed hero, whose honesty and the tendency to put his foot in his mouth are unusual in romantic heroes.
Jackson Lymond is a bit different in terms of social skills and it’s endearing to watch him trying to do the right thing. And, of course, he’s hot and sexy. But the “happy-go-lucky, goofy Jackson Lymond” harbors some secrets and hidden pain and he’s trying to find himself after ending a career where he had to make life-or-death decisions.
I enjoyed watching this different hero act in a context of deception where he managed to keep a refreshing authenticity.
I found the heroine’s life a bit too complicated and hard to believe, but I appreciated how the couple worked through the external duplicity, yet being honest with each other.
There are lots of characters, some from previous Kate Pearce’s books, and an interesting subplot of a small, tight-knit ranching community fighting to maintain its authenticity and roots.
The story held my interest and some of its characters – for example, Jake Magnusson – made me wish for a story of their own.

This is the start of a new series but it's set in the same world as the Morgan Ranch series and can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed getting to know more about Jackson Lymond, he intrigued when I first "met" him in The Rancher. He has an honesty I find refreshing, he just says what everyone else is afraid to say. I just love that! But, I never warmed to Daisy. She seemed, to me, too closed off and just not that interesting, and she was just bitchy. I had a hard time understanding what Jackson saw in her and to be honest it kinda ruined the story for me. It's well written, but something was just missing for me. I'm hoping the next book is about one of Daisy's brothers, now they got my attention! All in all it's an ok book.

The Second Chance Rancher is the first book in Kate Pearce's new spin-off series from the Morgan Ranch stories. Even though many of the characters from the first series make cameo appearances, it's not necessary to have read any of the earlier books. It stands perfectly fine on its own.
I loved the connection between Jackson and Daisy. This book had it all. Some laugh out loud moments, some delightfully awkward put your foot in your mouth moments and a few emotional spots as well.
Daisy's brothers were awesome and I look forward to reading what's in store for them next!

Returning to Morgantown was a delightful way to spend the afternoon and although Jackson Lymond did seem a bit clueless at times he eventually managed to get the HEA he was looking for. Who does he end up with? Not the woman he started out thinking he wanted...nope...he realized rather quickly that he really wanted florist Daisy Miller instead of Nancy the bartender. Why? Well, she was more suited to him and...Nancy wasn’t interested. As an introduction to the Miller family we realize that with five brothers to marry off there are a number of books to look forward to – hooray! In this book there is a bit of the fake relationship to hide a secret one of them is keeping and they cut it close enough that their HEA might not have happened had the two not realized that they really did belong together.

Would love to live with the ranchers in Morgantown. Pearce has made her characters come alive right off the page. Even though this is set in the same town as her Morgan Ranch novels; this can be read as a stand alone easily. Always romantic Jackson Lymond comes across as a desperate guy in search of a serious relationship. Wanting to settle down in his hometown proves to be difficult when he sets his cowboy hat on Daisy Miller who runs the local flower shop. Daisy has some secrets from her family but is drawn to Jackson even though she will not admit it to herself or to him. Fate throws these two together and of course leads to a HEA. "A copy of this book was provided by Kensington Books via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." ALWAYS LIGHT HEARTED AND A FEEL GOOD READ BY PEARCE!

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the Morgan Ranch series, I was happy to see Kate Pearce returning to the same setting in this spin-off series. Even if you've never read the Morgan series, this book can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone novel. Jackson Lymond is trying to find where he fits in at after being in the Air Force for 10 years. Since he's not really sure, he has no real reason to turn down Daisy's request for a fake boyfriend. Except maybe for the fact that he really wants to be Daisy's boyfriend. This was an enjoyable contemporary romance that on occasion even had me laughing just because Jackson and Daisy both had a tendency to be too direct at times. I'm looking forward to the rest of the Miller family as they all hopefully get a story.

I really liked that he was wanting to be all in well before her, and it took her to have an a-aha moment to realize she wanted to be with him. The chemistry between these two was really good, and their banter interesting. They held a lot back, the reasons for their reactions, but they also shared with each other things they hadn’t with others. Happy for them to figure things out and get their HEA <3

Jackson is no stranger to hard work and that’s a damn good thing since his recently deceased father left the family farm in quite a state. The buildings are falling apart, the fields are a mess, and there is little to no livestock to be found. If it weren’t for the solid investment by his older (and very wealthy!) brother and the extra work offered by the neighboring Morgan family, the Lymond ranch would be nothing but a total loss. With nothing but time on his hands, Jackson jumps into the work and hopes some clarity will come with the long days.
Daisy Miller is running herself ragged; with two full-time jobs and a whopper of a secret, she’s about as worn out as a girl can get. In the life everyone knows about, Daisy is the proprietor of the local flower shop and in the life no one knows about, Daisy works with her Silicon Valley contacts on a project that nearly destroyed her several years ago. When Daisy returned home broken and defeated, she promised her family she would never go back to the madness that nearly destroyed her. Unfortunately, some projects are to near and dear to give up and Daisy has secretly been working with her old group to finish their once very promising work. With so much on her plate and so much she can’t reveal to anyone, Daisy has little enough time for herself, let alone a boyfriend.
But, what about a hot rancher with no strings attached????
Daisy’s ultimate plan with Jackson Lymond is to have her fun with him and be done, to hit it and quit. She has no use for a boyfriend – the last one ended very badly – and with no strings attached, no one can possibly get hurt. To Daisy’s credit, she is honest with Jackson from the beginning, but he is also honest with her. Jackson likes Daisy and just wants a fair shot with her at a real relationship. Make no mistake, the sex is fantastic, but Jackson is at a place in his life where it’s time to consider the future and exactly who he wants to spend that future with. Daisy is everything he wants in a partner, including stubborn as can be and somewhat difficult. Convincing Daisy to spend her life with him isn’t going to be easy, but Jackson has fought harder fights in his life, and none have had a prize as great as Daisy Miller.
The Bottom Line: Before this book, I would have had to look long and hard through my reviews for a Kate Pearce book I didn’t simply adore and totally gush about in my review. I struggled with this book for one reason and one reason alone, Daisy Miller! While I wanted to like Daisy and understand her situation – past and present – I couldn’t get past her bad attitude and overall mean spirit. On top of simply being mean to Jackson – and I do mean, mean not just brutally honest! – she often sent terrible mixed signals. Daisy is aware from the beginning of Jackson’s feelings and intentions and because she can’t drum up the will and courage to sort out her own life and mess, she takes it out on Jackson. With the negative out of the way, let’s look at the positives: Jackson and Morgan Valley. Jackson is a dream of a man and I so appreciated his character, especially is awkwardness which I found quite endearing. It’s also so lovely to be back in Morgan Valley and seeing this idyllic location being used to expand the series into this spin off. I have every confidence this series is going to be, overall, just as fine as its parent and I look forward to the future of the Miller’s of Morgan Valley.

First, this series is a spin-off of this author’s Morgan Ranch series. I don’t feel you have to read that series to get started on this one. As usual, you’d be better off reading it since it’s an amazing series. But it’s not necessary to understand and enjoy this story.
I’m so glad Kate Pearce found a way to extend our literary stay in Morgan Valley. While I love the Morgan family and had a great time reading their stories, I still felt there was more to learn from this town and its residents. Diving into the Miller family gives us so much more to look forward to.
Being raised with 5 brothers, Daisy is a strong-minded woman. It doesn’t exactly seem that way at first, but she really knows how to hold her own and voice her opinion when needed. Since Jackson has a tendency to stick his foot in his mouth, it’s a good thing Daisy has the backbone to call him to the carpet when he says the wrong thing. There comes a time when you figure she should be used to his word vomit and let things slide, but she doesn’t. And in hindsight, I’m glad she doesn’t. Jackson is very open to being corrected when he doesn’t state things in the right way, so how else is he going to learn if everyone always smooths things over for him?
Jackson is an interesting character. Always the gentleman, always wanting to make others smile, always joking around. It’s obvious there’s something lingering deep down for him, but besides Daisy, nobody but his brother Cauy (from The Rancher) seems to realize this. And the more Cauy or Daisy try to get him to be the “real” Jackson and speak his truth, the more he shuts down. When Jackson finally has his moment, it’s long overdue and not at all surprising to those closest to him.
Daisy, herself, has a lot of issues of her own. As much as she likes to call Jackson out on his “head in the sand” tactics and word vomit, she doesn’t like that mirror being held up back to her. She uses the excuse of protecting her family and not wanting to disappoint them, but in the process puts herself under such immense stress and guilt I don’t see how it can be good for her relationship with her dad and brothers. And, like Jackson, when it all crumbles she goes big.
This author has a knack of writing couples that will give me warm-fuzzies, and that holds true with this story. There was a bit of depth I found lacking until the last half of the story when we get to know Jackson’s “secret”, but I still felt connected to the characters.
The peripheral characters in this story really played a large role, as we are getting to know the Miller family in this book. We mostly see Adam and I am really looking forward to him getting his HEA. As was mentioned a few times in this book, he needs to learn to move on and find happiness again. I can’t wait to go along for that ride.

A great start to a new series.
While The Second Chance Rancher technically begins a new series, The Millers of Morgan Valley Ranch, it's also kind of a continuation of the Morgan Ranch series, with characters from Morgan Ranch playing secondary roles. You don't need to have read any of the books from that series to enjoy this one but you might just be intrigued enough to want to read it (and they are great books).
Jackson Lymond has left his military career in the Air Force behind to return to Morgan Valley to help his brother, Cuay, with the ranch he inherited. He seems to be pretty happy-go-lucky and not have a care in the world but, of course, that isn't true. He has emotional scars from his time in the service but he doesn't want to show that side to anyone.
Daisy Miller runs the flower shop in Morgan Valley but she also has a secret that she's keeping from her family (five older brothers and their father). A few years ago, she returned to Morgan Valley a broken person and they helped heal her. She promised she wouldn't return to what broke her but she broke that promise and it's eating at her that she hasn't told them the truth.
Jackson is attracted to Daisy but they kind of get off on the wrong foot. Once they come to an understanding Jackson agrees to Daisy's terms of a friends-with-benefits/fake boyfriend arrangement because she's not ready for a serious relationship.
There's quite a bit going on in this story: a mystery about coins found in a silver mine, what Daisy is really doing other than running her flower shop, the feelings that Jackson has buried under the facade he presents to the world. We are also introduced to all of Daisy's brothers, who I suspect will each get a book in the future.
I enjoyed this story very much and liked how the relationship between Daisy and Jackson wasn't always lovey-dovey. In real life partners argue and have misunderstandings and it was nice to see that represented well in this story and yet you know that they care for each other even as they are arguing.
The set-up for additional stories was great but didn't leave me with a cliffhanger feeling at all. The romance between Daisy and Jackson is resolved but my appetite for additional stories was definitely whetted. 😊

THE SECOND CHANCE RANCHER starts off with an ironic chuckle for me and simply kept building from that starting point. While this series is a spin-off from the Morgan Ranch series it does stand on its own. I have to be careful now to not give away either Jackson’s or Daisy’s secrets because they are vital to the enjoyment of this story – and I don’t willingly do spoilers. I was drawn to both characters but more to Jackson for at times it was difficult for me to really connect with Daisy. I don’t know why but this became Jackson’s story for me. Yet, I’m really looking forward to learning about Daisy’s brothers for they all sound like some – intriguing men.
THE SECOND CHANCE RANCHER will deliver some laugh out loud moments, some frustrations, perhaps a few misty eyes as secrets are revealed. I enjoyed my time back in this world once again. Daisy and Jackson’s romance sets up the rest of the series and provides a romance that shows that even when couples argue or disagree the emotions are still very much alive. I’d call their story realistic for no person or couple is totally perfect but they do work as a loving partnership and that is what truly matters.

I wanted to read this book before jumping into an ARC for Book 3. I've already read the Morgan Ranch series, so I was already familiar with Jackson and his brother Cauy and of course all the other Morgan Valley characters (it helps to know who they are before you jump into this new series). I wanted to love this book, but unfortunately, Daisy kind of ruins it.
Daisy is one of the Millers and is working a secret tech start-up job while also running her flower shop. She promised her family she wouldn't go back to the tech world after getting burned out before, but this is a big passion project for her, so she secretly does it behind her family's back. She convinces Jackson to be her pretend boyfriend to keep her family off her back and help provide a cover for when she has to disappear to work in Palo Alto.
He goes along with it for a while, but you can only fake it so long before true feelings come into play. Jackson starts falling for Daisy but she keeps pushing him away and keeping him in the friend zone. She was hung up on her ex that died when she was in college and didn't want to have any sort of relationship. Jackson tried his best to honor that request and it was heartbreaking to see the guy try to put on a brave front just to make Daisy happy and not push her too far outside of her comfort zone. I thought Daisy was way too selfish and I just couldn't grow to like her at all.
Jackson is a great guy. He says what he's thinking and everyone else is afraid to say. I appreciated his honesty and his 'aww shucks' demeanor when he realizes he's probably embarrassed himself by talking. It was very endearing. He was pretty closed off about his time in the Air Force and how that impacted him, but I understood. At the same time, I don't think it was fair that he expected Daisy to open up to him when he wasn't willing to do the same.
The ending was a bit abrupt. There wasn't any solid resolution to the whole 'secret life' Daisy was living. Sure, her family found out about it and she also admitted her love for Jackson, but we don't find out about the funding for sure, just the probable outcome. That was disappointing given it was the entire focus of Daisy's life.

Jackson Lymond left the Air Force as part of the Strategic Air Intelligence in Qatar to help is brother Cauy with the family ranch. When he died their father left it to Cauy, the unfavored son. The mystery is why Cauy as Mark Lymond hated his eldest son. We find out why later in the story. Why to Cauy is still a mystery. Jackson is starting over, trying to figure out how he fits now into is community of Morgan Valley and deal with guilt over his military service. He remembers Daisy Miller who runs the floral shop in town and Nancy Williams, bartender for her brother's place. Kate starts the story with Jackson having Daisy make up a bouquet for him to butter up Nancy to ask her on a date. Interesting start to their eventual love story.

He deals with military guilt, she with hiding truth from her family. They both can't seem to hold each other at arms length. Thanks to Aunt Rae's advice, Daisy comes clean about what she's been up to. Jackson and his brother finally come to an agreement as to what to do about the ranch.

Kate Pearce is one of my favorite authors. I adore the characters and settings of Morgan Ranch and Morgantown.
This is the first book in a new series, concentrating on the Morgan's neighbors, the Millers. The Miller's mother left her 6 children when they were young. I image that the other books in the series will each concentrate on one of them. In the last book, Cauy Laymond came back to Morgan Valley, after he inherited the family ranch, which was a puzzlement, since his father hated him, and as it turned out, that was because he wasn't his biological father. Mark Laymond hated the Morgans (and almost everyone else), but Cauy ends up engaged to to Rachel Morgan. Cauy offered half ownership of the ranch to his brother Jackson, who had just finished 10 years in the air force, and was at lost ends. Jackson comes home, but is not sure exactly what he wants to do, as he is carrying some issues from his service. However, he is attracted to neighbor Daisy Miller. After returning home after burn out from working in Silicon Valley, Daisy is running the family floral shop. However, in secret, she is also working on another start up project in Silicon Valley with her team, something which could save lives. While attracted to Jackson, she is afraid to get involved with another man after her college sweetheart had died. In the hopes of eventually wearing her down, Jackson agrees to a fake relationship. Sadly, instead of actually communicating and talking about their feelings to avoid misunderstanding, they both misread the other and argue a lot, almost blowing their second chance for happiness. Still it is a very entertaining read and they do get their HEA.

We’ve been to Morgantown before with millionaire software techie Chace Morgan, his granny Ruth, and his Brothers BB, HW, RY and sister Rachel. The Millers run a neighbouring Horse Ranch. There’s their father Jeff, Adam the eldest, Ben, Kaiden, Danny, Evan, and youngest, daughter Daisy. This Romance concerns Daisy and Jackson Lymond who has returned to his home ranch run by brother Cauy after 12 years in the Air Force. Cauy’s biological father was the son of yet another local rancher killed before he was born and a wife he married days out of high school who died of cancer 3 years later. Small towns do have their scandals.
Raised is the issue of owners lacking offspring wanting to inherit the family ranch and being offered millions to sell the land to developers. This has at least three implications:
What it does to property values making ranchland virtually unattainable and raising property taxes;
the cost of providing roads, sewer lines, power lines and other utility services to new subdivisions and the demands those residents make on local schools;
and the dis-satisfaction their new neighbours have with the smells, equipment noises plus the hours it operates, and cattle wandering in over line fences hay have no interest in seeing maintained.
There’s an HEA or this wouldn’t be a romance novel

Unresolved is the fate of the software application Daisy and her four partners have been working on; a coin collection worth a potential half million; the disposition of two ranches; BB’s encounter venture; the future of several ranches including Cauy’s; an impending visit after 22 years of the Miller Brother’s Mother; at least one wedding.

While not exactly a Morgan Ranch book The Second Chance Rancher does take place for the most part in Morgantown. As far as I am concerned this is the best series, hands down, that Kate Pearce has ever written. Just like the other books this is solidly written with just enough intrigue to keep one curious. The characters are wonderfully developed, flaws and all, with Daisy being the most complicated of all. Jackson Lymond for the most part is an open book unless you are wanting to know why he left the Air Force.
Both characters grew up in Morgantown but left and now have return home. Both are trying to find their place again in Morgantown. Both sort of knew each other in school though one of them has a better memory than the other about that time. Both have things that they don’t necessary wish for others to know. Lot of similarities between them except Jackson is a tell it like it is person, Daisy is a don’t tell if others won’t like it person. That one thing is a big conflict between them. I knew what I wanted to happen but kept reading to see how it all panned out.
I enjoyed seeing community of Morgantown, some characters from previous books and new characters that I hope get their own story. The Second Chance Rancher reads well on its own but I can highly recommend the entire series to contemporary cowboy romance reader. Well to be honest to anyone who just enjoys a great story or who believes that broken dreams can be turned into new better dreams..

Jackson is very attracted to Daisy so he accepts her deal hoping he can woo her into a real relationship. Both Daisy and Jackson have plenty of other issues to resolve which leads to a bumpy road, relationship-wise. Will Jackson's grit and determination win Miss Daisy?

Jackson and Daisy bring out the best in each other
Jackson has returned home after the death of his father, and has some complicated issues to work out with his brother. Daisy left Silicon Valley behind, for the most part, but she's still got a secret that she isn't ready to share with her family. In order to have an alibi for this project, she turns Jackson's request for a date into a fake-dating arrangement that he reluctantly agrees to.
Jackson starts off being a little flighty, almost shallow, but we quickly learn that this is a persona he's developed as a defense mechanism. I loved his steadfast devotion, even when it was costing him so much.
Daisy's character goes through her own personal growth arc, too, as she comes to terms with a tragedy in her past and figures out just what risks are worth taking.
We also get a lot of interaction with the Morgan and Miller families, including characters from previous books by this author as well as introductions to new folks who will probably be featured in future books. We're given quite a birds-eye view of the entire community as they work together to find the balance between the advantages of progress and the charms of their small-town life.
This is the third book I've read in this fictional world, and it's every bit as wonderful as the others. The writing style makes it easy to feel right at home with these memorable characters. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is a wonderful first book in the series about the Millers of Morgan Valley. I haven't read the series about the Morgan family yet (as the characters make appearances here) but I really didn't need to. I will say though, that I have purchased them so I will be reading them in the future.
Jackson Lymond, left the Air Force and returned home. His brother inherited the family ranch after his father's death but he stays and works the ranch with Cauy, his brother. Cauy has offered to give half of the ranch to him but Jackson has turned it down. Jackson goes into the florist shop to purchase flowers for Nancy the bartender. There he meets Daisy. Daisy directs him away from the actual flowers he wants to purchase as they wouldn't be appreciated. Of course Nancy turns Jackson down for a date and he goes back to Daisy's shop and asks her out!
This two were so funny at times. To see them come together in a faux relationship to throw her family off of her "second" job was hilarious at times. Daisy and Jackson have issues to work through and together they are so much better. The road to their HEA was one that was full of challenges and great times as well.
I look forward to reading more of this series and getting to know more about Daisy's brothers. This story is one that is very sexy not quite spicy but close. In that regard, I would only suggest this story to anyone over the age of 18.

This is the first book in a spin off series from the Morgan series. Rachel Morgan got together with Cauy Lymond in the last book of that series and now Jackson his brother is hero in this book. Jackson is a Air Force veteran. He thought it would be his life until something happens and he decides he's done. Now he's home to help his brother and figure out what's next. Then he runs into Daisy Miller the baby girl and only girl of the Miller clan. Her five older brothers drive her nuts sometimes but she can handle them. Daisy is a techy. She had a start up company that didn't go so well and she came back home broken in spirit. Now she's taking another shot at it and keeping it on the down low. Asking Jackson to be her fake boyfriend to help her cover sounds like a good idea until it all gets complicated by feelings they both agreed not to have. I liked this one but it didn't click for me as well as I had hoped and as much as it did for the Morgan series of books. Cauy and a lot of the Morgan's are in this book which made it a little more fun to read as the characters are familiar. We got a little glimpse at some of Daisy's brothers and some trouble brewing for the family and the town which I'm sure will be addressed as the series continues. A good read for me just not a solid hit out of the ballpark.

I was already laughing and shaking my head in the first chapter. Jackson is not the brightest at the beginning, and he repeatedly puts his foot in his mouth with Daisy. I did like that he said what he was thinking, and he wasn’t afraid to tell the truth. However, he also can’t keep his mouth shut and keep a secret. That is a big issue with Daisy, especially because she’s leading a double life.
Jackson and Daisy were such a fun couple to read about. Jackson is helping his brother Cauy at the ranch after leaving the military. Daisy seems to be a simple florist. They fit together perfectly, although they each made plenty of mistakes along the way. The both had their own issues and several obstacles to get through. There were a couple twists I didn’t see coming in the book, and I was on the edge of my seat. Once I started the book, I did not put it down until it was finished. I just had to keep reading, and I couldn’t put it down without constantly wondering what was going to happen. I would say this book is not a standalone, and you should read the other books in the series first. There is just so much you wouldn’t understand if you read this book alone. I highly recommend reading this book!

It’s been sometime since I read a Kate Pearce novel, but let me tell you. Sitting down and reading this was like coming home after a long year away. It was refreshing, it was captivating and it was full of amazing characters. I love her hot cowboys and the women she creates for them!
Jackson and Daisy were wonderful together! Jackson, home from the Air Force and helping his brother out with the ranch, agrees to help Daisy out, even though she’s turned him down for dates he asks her on. What ensues when this happens? Well, lots of sparks flying off the pages of the books, lots of banter between two amazing characters and a plot line that will leave you wanting more!
This start to an incredible new series is one you don’t want to miss. The characters are vivid, and the plot line comes to life. The descriptions of the small town living are chiseled perfectly and make the reader feel like they are in the center of Morgan Valley. This is definitely a 4 star worthy novel and I look forward to the next book in the series. Well done, Pearce! Well done!

This is a romantic story where a fake romance turns into something more. It is full of second chances, hope, family, and love. Poor Jackson Lymond has left his military career and returned to his family's ranch. The ranch now belongs to his brother, Cauy. Jackson's father left the ranch to Cauy, who is not his biological son to cause problems between the two brothers. Cauy wants to give half of the ranch to Jackson but Jackson is stubborn and will not accept his offer.
Then there is Daisy, who is keeping secrets from her family. She is leading a double life. One is developing technology in Silicon Valley which she told her family she was done with and the other is working at the flower shop in Morgan Valley. She decides having a fake relationship with Jackson with no strings attached is just what she needs. Too bad Jackson is already in love with her.
I enjoyed Jackson and Daisy's fake relationship and how it seemed to backfire on both of them. I also enjoyed their banter. Morgan Valley is filled with interesting characters. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Second Chance Rancher by Kate Pearce is the first book in a new series about families that live in the high Sierras and have ranches. Morgantown is the home of the Millers as well as the Morgans. This particular novel is about Daisy Miller and Jackson Lymond. Two scarred souls who need each other but do not realize it right away.
Jackson has returned from the Air Force and is working with his brother Caul around the families ranch. He is not sure what he wants to do yet, but he feels good ranching right now. Daisy came home after a horrendous incident on Silicon Valley left her broken. She has been designing flowers from her flower shop but has a secret part time gig that is getting harder and harder to hide from her brothers ( noisy big brothers mostly). She and Jackson come to an understanding and they begin “dating”.
The story slowly relays the backstories that they have hidden from themselves never mind each other. And the chemistry is off the market… Things turn more real until a few problems pop up. Second Chance Rancher by Kate Pearce is a great modern day romance with all the cowboys you can imagine.

Great book
This is the first in a series, and I’m assuming a spin-off of the Morgan Ranch series (I haven’t read it yet) In this book, Jackson has returned home from his career in the military, to help his brother on the family ranch after their father dies. When he walks into the flower shop of Daisy Miller, he’s instantly interested. But Daisy doesn’t want anything long term, and Jackson doesn’t want a causal relationship. But he agrees to be her pretend boyfriend so her family won’t know what she’s working on. But as they spend more time together, things start feeling too real.
This was an amazing book. I was interested from the start, and the characters were all wonderful. I think I’ll have to go back and read the Morgan Ranch series, so I can get a background on the town, and some of the other characters in this book. But it was great to read, and watch the relationship between Daisy and Jackson grow. They are both strong characters, that have had difficult things in their lives. They both grew as the story progressed. I definitely recommend this book.
