I'm so glad I got the chance to reread Andrew Grey's novella, "ON SHAKY GROUND". I forgot how much I enjoyed it. I like reading about handi-abled characters. Mr. Martin Graham built an incredible organization through his fantastic business acumen. He was renown for two things: how seamlessly his organization ran and how often he ran through professional/personal assistants. Martin was as demanding of his assistants as he was of himself.

He pushed himself harder as his world slowly darkened from a degenerative eye disease. I am writing this on Monday, December 3rd the International Day of Persons with Disabilities meant to promote understanding and support the dignity, rights, and we'll being of people with disabilities.

Brock Littleton had a difficult upbringing. He learned not to give up from his parents. He got his work ethic from them, but especially from his extremely hard working Mom. He wanted so much more out of life than the very hard service industry his mother continued to do. Despite obtaining an advanced degree he had no luck finding a job commiserate with his level of education. He felt very discouraged. When the opportunity to work for the well respected Graham Consolidated Financial arose he jumped at the chance.

Brock learned immediately how demanding his boss. But his compassionate heart saw more - what the man needed despite being disappointed in the job he'd initially been hired for. He had an opportunity to to learn from a great company founder and the hardest worker at the organization. Andrew Grey really was knowledgeable about all the adaptive devices that made it possible for Martin to stay on top of his game and have most clients never realize he was blind. It took incredible dedication, no personal life, and a determination never to give up.

Martin's new assistant kept surprising him, as do some of the of company CEOs he worked with. This novella was so entertaining, a gruff reclusive exterior buried long held pain, small consideration added up, and began opening up his hardened heart.

I bought this book exclusively for the Andrew Grey novella. Some readers may enjoy the other stories.

If you’re looking for a feel-good romance anthology definitely check this one out. Kate Forest’s story was my favorite and I especially loved the hero!

Didn't care for it past the first story. Too raw in many places, unrealistic and shallow in others.
