The eagerly awaited second book in the Flight of the Kestrel series is here! On a failed mission to look for a secret weapon, Shom Reuel of the Kestrel saves a man – twice. He looks human, apart from the lump on his forehead. It seems everyone wants him, but is he a friend or a deadly enemy? And will the shock of his identity cause Reuel to reveal his people’s greatest secret? On the way the crew have to deal with space battles, smugglers and fighting colonists. All while trying to fulfil two different missions. And they are one crewman short, which is a lot for a crew of eleven. How will they cope if they lose any more crew? If you’re a fan of stories like Star Trek and Firefly you’ll love this book. This is the second exciting adventure for the Kestrel and her crew, but you don’t need to have read Intruders (book one) in order to enjoy this one. Join the author’s mailing list for news of future books REVIEW Many science fiction stories concentrate on the space innovations of new worlds and forget about the characters. Thomas uses the story as a vehicle for character interaction which makes it an all round cracking read. It's a good story, descriptive and imaginative. Well worth reading. I loved it.

Alien Secrets has an interesting beginning. Three Kestrel members have landed on Boka. They have received the information that Bokans had developed a secret weapon. Shom Reuel, Daniel Hoy and Parks landed on the Boka to investigate the secret weapon. Before doing much investigation about the weapons on Boka, the three of them landed in trouble and were captured by the Bokan people.

Bokan interrogated them and even tortured Parks a little. Shom Ruel felt bad for a man named Tanu who was also captured by Bokan for being an alien. He was tortured two times more than Paul. Shom Reul, Paul and Daniel are determined to escape and free themselves from the Bokan. The only way to escape is to attack the two guards and run. Their plan to escape was successful. Shom Ruel was kind enough to help Tanu in escaping. Who is Tanu? Is he just an explorer? When Tanu was examined aboard Kestrel, Nefar mentioned that he is a humanoid with a blue-copper based blood instead of iron based.

I loved the part most in which the three Kestrel crew members were captured on Boka. The twists and turns in the story enhanced my interest with every turning page. The cover photo of the book looks wonderful. The storyline is written well by the author. This is definitely a must read book. You won't want to put it down until you read the complete book.

Alien Secrets penned by the author A M Thomas is the second installment in Flight of the Kestrel book series. Shom Reuel, Daniel Hoy and Parks landed on Boka to validate intelligence that the
Bokans had developed a secret weapon. When the three of them were captured by the Bokans, they gave them the story saying they are sociologists studying Bokan culture.

The three of them were interrogated and Parks was tortured too. They also met another prisoner Tanu who was tortured even more than Parks. Reuel felt sympathetic and decided that they will take Tanu to Kestrel as they escape. They executed their plan and attacked the two guards and managed to reach Kestrel. Tanu has only told them that he is an explorer. Is Tanu a friend or an enemy?

Find out by reading this book what happens next. This book takes the readers into the vast universe and I had a great adventure along with the characters. The backdrop setting is done nicely by the author. The story is well paced and there weren't any dull moments in the book.

Even though it's the second book in the series, one could enjoy it as a standalone book.
