You wouldn't believe Dex Riggs and I are from the same town. He's the ultimate bad boy; I'm the one who goes by the book. He's a sexy former cop with a shady past; I'm the girl who married her high school sweetheart. But now my marriage is over, I'm burned out on my business, and worst of all, I never got the baby I wanted. And now I never will.Unless Dex is willing to make a deal.I get a baby; he gets... me. For a little while.Once I'm knocked up, we'll go our separate ways. That's the rule.I've never broken a rule. Dex has broken all of them. Which rule will we break first?
Make Me Beg is the fourth and final book in the Riggs Brothers series, and Julie Kriss saved the best book for last. Dex and Lauren’s story was by far my favorite of the bunch.
Dex Riggs is the baddest of the bad boys in the Riggs family. He’s always been the most trouble, and Lauren is his opposite. She’s a goody goody and responsible. In high school, they had one moment, but then life got in the way. Now, Dex is back in town and Lauren is recently divorced. They seem like the most unlikely of couples, but maybe they’re meant to be…
Along with the romance, there is also a bit of a suspense story-line in this book. We’ve all been wandering what happened with Dex and his job as a cop, well, we find out. I loved this couple together. Dex had Lauren bringing out her wild-side, and Lauren tamed Dex in the best way.
The epilogue of this story was the best. Not only did we get a great ending for Dex and Lauren, but we got a look into the future of the other three couples. I’ve enjoyed this series so much. These Riggs brothers are amazing and their women are fantastic. Each book in the series gets better and better, and the audiobooks are great. All four are narrated by two of my favorites, Joe Arden and Erin Mallon. They do an incredible job.
If you’re looking for a great series about a family of misfit brothers and the strong women they end up with, these are the books for you. They’re sexy, fun, fast-paced, and highly entertaining!
It was the best one in the series, Dex and Lauren totally stole the show!
Dex Riggs was the equivalent of putting a shot into your pint of beer. You didn't need it; you'd probably survive it; but you might wish you hadn't. - That was Dex 10 years ago.
Lauren was strong and determined, even if burned by life a little. Dex was conflicted and lost. Together they made perfect sense and Ms. Kriss made me fall in love with yet another couple.
I liked the way Dex saw me. I was always a different woman when I was with him. I was the woman I wanted to be. - That was Dex to Lauren.
It was a little unsettling, having a woman who could see through you so easily. I liked it. - That was Lauren to Dex.
Ms. Kriss managed to write this absolutely crazy arsehole hero through three first books, giving us just enough glimpses of his vulnerability to want to know his story - and then she blew my mind, completely redeeming him in the fourth one! Because that's how this stuff is done and Ms. Kriss is awesome.
Make Me Beg is not exactly making me beg for more plot or twist. The last book of this series is the tamest all. I think Miss Kriss was in hurry to close the series.
The audiobook is only 4 plus hour. Short. Not much in the book made me swooning more. I feel like sitting on bullet train. 1 minute I was starting reading, 1 minute everything di finished.
Sights happily And finally the last brother, Dex Riggs (having a fangirl moment now). I started this series after i saw a review of this book, so basically all I wanted was to get to this moment when I get to read his story, not that I haven't enjoyed all Riggs brothers, that would be insane: just lock me up with them and we'll make a reverse harem lol.
Since book 1 Dex was always the crazy, out of control and asshole one, but oh boy, was he so much more. This man was just so very caring, and had so much love to give but he just didn't know how to until the right woman came along. Lauren was a sweetie too. A bit shy, a bit rebel and all he needed actually. They made an awesome pair and I loved every interaction they had.
The epilogue was the best, we had an after 2 years for each one of the couples and how they settled in their lives is so realistic and normal. Great series!
I have been anticipating this story since the beginning. I knew there was history between Lauren and Dex from way back when. And even though they were barely in the same room together I could feel the tension.
Dex was such a tortured soul, I was dying to know what was behind all of his mysterious brooding crazy vibes. I had all of these theories and I was way off but I really enjoyed the ride. I didn't really know what to expect with him. Was he truly a messed up acehole or was he just lost and hiding his worries in oblivion.
Luckily Lauren had the answers to some of Dex's riddles and she looked past the rumours and didn't care what anyone thought. And I think her complete lack of hesitation with Dex was the best part of their story. She really looked at him and saw his pain and didn't believe he was anything but who he was. And she didn't care what anyone else thought.
These two were great together and I loved watching Dex get a life he deserved. Seeing the brothers all come together as a family in their own unique way was half of the fun. And the epilogue at the end was a great way to cap off the series. The Rigg's brothers really did go through hell to get their happily ever after and I really enjoyed watching it all unfold.
Audiobook review. Dex was the Riggs brother I most wanted to get to know because he was the ultimate bad boy. I wanted to delve deeper into who he really was underneath all those layers. Ms. Kriss didn’t disappoint. Dex maintained his sexy aura and appeal but we got to see the protective and caring side of him too. He even had the opportunity to show some vulnerability. Lauren’s life was turned upside down and what she wanted most seemed out of her reach. Dex re-entered her life at just the right time.
The plot was interesting and in some ways unexpected. It was emotional and the characterization supported growth and development. I’m glad I got to know these brothers and the ladies that tamed them.
Joe Arden and Erin Mallon did a fantastic job with the narration. They fit the characters well and their performance exceeded expectations.
Complementary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.
This was by far my favorite book of the series because Dex was portrayed as the ultimate bad boy, yet you knew he couldn’t be as bad as people thought he was. And I was not disappointed.
Growing up, Dex was always the wild one, and in a family of four unruly boys from the wrong side of the tracks, that was saying something. He was the one most likely to get in trouble and go to jail, the one most likely to drink and do drugs, yet he surprised everyone by becoming a cop. However, no one was surprised by what happened next. Leaving the police force left only rumors and suspicions that he was a dirty cop in his wake, and his needing to come home to lick his wounds shocked no one. No one expected anything from Dex Riggs. Except Lauren.
Lauren’s sister Emily was already with a Riggs brother, so Lauren knew better than to judge the family. But Emily’s relationship aside, Lauren had always held a soft spot for Dex. Freshly divorced and with her biological clock ticking, Lauren propositions Dex for some way in which he could provide assistance. A no strings baby. And being the bad boy that he is, he’s more than happy to oblige.
I thought this would be the standard trope of a baby arrangement and then, surprise!…these perfect people fall in love after. But this story was more than just two wonderful people falling for each other. It was people who felt damaged by life, seeing themselves through the other person’s eyes and learning to love themself again as well. Dex and Lauren were the exact opposite from outward appearances, but inside, they both needed something to make them want to live again and against the odds, they found that in the other. Dex really turned out to be my favorite brother because he was the one that needed love the most and yet seemed the least worthy of it. Dex shouldered so much pain under the mask that he wore, and just needed someone brave enough to look beneath it and see for themselves the loyal man that resided there.
I really loved this book and enjoyed this series and the way the author wrapped everyone’s ending nice and neat by the end of the book. After the time I’m investing in everyone, I want to know that my friends are doing well in the end! And they are.
This series just got better and better to this last book just really brought these guys home. This story is all about Dex Riggs - the ex-cop and Lauren - Emily's Twin, so were already know these character's backstories or so we thought. I can't really go into what this part of the story is about because Lauren and Dex have history, they have chemistry, and I was completely here for this. I devoured this conclusion of the series and I wished it was longer. I will be looking to read more from this author.
This specific video review will be included in the September 2019 wrap-up.

I've read so many character linked series where there has been a big build up to the story of the moody, loner, alpha male guy. Your heart has been stolen by brief glimpses of this guy in prior books, and you just know he is to die for. Then you get hold of the book and are left somewhere between disappointed and p***ed off. It lacks everything the other books had and leaves you cold.
WELL NOT THIS ONE!!!!!! Nope, Nopey No No, this one was absolutely swoonmazingly awesome. Oh my word how my heart melted for Dex, he was everything I wanted and so much more too. So vulnerable and sweet under all that bravado. Lauren is one lucky girl and was absolutely perfect for him. This was definitely well worth the wait. I loved it so much I couldn't put it down and it became a one-sit reading.
This was a little insta-love, though the two main characters had been fascinated with each other in high school. However the connection and chemistry between this pair was so believable that I happily embraced a trope that doesn't often work for me. Dex and Lauren did more than make love, their very souls came together and were bound for eternity.
We had previously only seen Dex through the eyes of others, but I always knew he had hidden depths. He was no where near the don't give a damn alpha-hole that had been portrayed, though this was the image he deliberately projected for others. I loved how Lauren's own pain and suffering allowed her to see the same pain and suffering that Dex hid so well from others. I loved how the pair of them instinctively understood and saw the truth of the other person.
Have I already said how Dex was so much more, so much deeper, so much more damaged, so much more complex and wonderful than I could have imagined. Lauren was just as wonderful. I truly, totally and utterly fell in love with this pair and they will always have a special place in my heart.
So since I listened to th first thee books, it was time for this book and I don’t know if it’s the narrators or the mood, but this Tim I changed the grade for the better to a 5
We’ve met Dexx in the previous books and he’s the oldest but the craziest brother. He was a cop, a very odd profession for him to go into but something mysterious happened and he’s no longer a cop. He joins his three brothers working in their auto shop and he runs into Lauren twin sister to Emily, wife to Luke, one of Dex’s brothers and t heir story was the first book. Lauren and Dex had an encounter when they were in their teens that neither could forget but they moved on. Lauren got married and then divorced and Dex moved on with his mysterious life. They meet again and Dex offers something to Lauren that she’s longed for all her life.
This time through I connected much more with Dex. When we learn about what happened to his career, it explains so much and explains so much about why he is the way he is and I really felt his pain. I also really enjoyed the growing closeness between the four brothers and for me the book earns the 5 stars.
(&)(&)(&)(&’)(&)(&)(&)(&)
I got to busy over the Christmas holidays and didn’t do a review and clue in until tonight that I hadn’t. I’m going to keep this short which seems wrong as it’s the final book in the series.
I don’t know if my expectations were too high, but I found this one a bit disappointing. First off I found it too short. I wish Ms Kriss had written more story. These two characters have known each other for years but they never had any real relationship except he was her first kiss.
Don’t get me wrong, I still gave it four stars but I just wanted....more
Lauren has a lot of regrets about her failed marriage but the biggest regret is that they didn’t have children. Dex is the Riggs brother who is returned to his hometown and isn’t sharing details about the end of his career as a police officer.
They reunite at Luke and Emily’s wedding and neither have forgotten the kiss they shared in high school. She wants a baby and he wants her so it sounds like the perfect arrangement until his past becomes his present.
They are both damaged by their pasts in their own way but I liked how Lauren saw Dex for the man he truly was not what he presents to other. Although I am sad to see the series end it was great to catch up with all the Riggs brothers. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and the narrators were the perfect choice to bring this story to life.
What an absolutely amazing read. I thought Ryan's story was my favorite before, but Dex has completely changed my mind. This book is about Dex, the oldest of the Riggs brothers and Lauren, Luke's wife Emily's twin sister. Dex is a former cop that has come home under mysterious circumstances and Lauren thought she had it all until the big D happened to her. Now she is kinda in limbo. She is not really living, just existing and the same goes for Dex. They have known each other for years, but the timing was never right. Now they are back in the same town and and ready to explore their feelings. Its a suspenseful, tear jerky and oh so hot read that will keep you reading until the very last page. I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book and I am leaving a 100% honest review.
Make Me Beg was fast-paced and had an enjoyable story. It was trope-y (good girl cop’s daughter + bad boy ex-cop + history + baby making scheme), and not particularly deep, but I really liked both characters and the fast-burn nature of their relationship.
So far all of the Julie Kriss books I’ve read have been short but reliably entertaining. I’d describe them as somewhere between an instalove novella and a ‘full-fledged’ romance novel. Good for an easy read.
Kriss sure knows how to write a bad boy. Whether you love him or hate him, your heart just can't do without him. Dex Riggs is at the top of my list of favorite alphas. Arden turned a smart mouthed loner into a deeply misunderstood, broodingly intense, hopelessly flawed, hunk of burning love. Lauren is the perfect foil to find the gentle soul hiding underneath his battered shell. Mallon and Arden play well off of each other. A battle of hearts that sticks to your soul and makes you crave even more. Make Me Beg is a winner in my eyes.
I'm telling you these book are short and sweet - I was really looking forward to getting this story Lauren and Dex had been such a mystery throughout the other 3 books!!! It did not disappoint and I finished it in about 4 hours - devoured actually. I give this one 5 stars because overall I really did enjoy this whole box set of 4 books so much!!! And now I have another new author to check out!!!!
The mysterious and intimidating Dex. Dirty cop? Thug? Bad brother? Not really….
Dex pairs off with Emily’s strait laced sister, Lauren. We find out he had been her first kiss years ago when she was a teen. Then she married her high school sweetheart, and stayed married almost ten years. This is an intensely captivating, emotional, and heartwarming journey to go on with Dex and Lauren.
Dex was so much more than I expected him to be. He’s kind, patient, and understanding at least when it comes to Lauren he is.…he definitely has a soft spot for her. He and Lauren start a journey mostly for Lauren…until Dax realizes he has those same intense goals and expectations.
We find out why he left the Detroit PD…..we actually find out a lot about Dex and his time at Detroit police department. He turns out to be very likable, loyal, and protective. When he leaves town unexpectedly without a word to anyone, because of a threat (that none of the brothers are aware of) Lauren becomes is biggest supporter and champion.
This was a nice ending to the Riggs brothers’ series. We’re treated to a great epilogue that flashes forward two years to give us sweet updates on all the brothers and their wives.
Liked Dax's story, book #4, much better than book #3. They greatly reduced the amount of offensive profanity! Thank GOD!!!!
Also liked the background reveal as to what caused Dax to leave the Detroit PD. He is portrayed as a corrupt and dangerous bad boy, but book # 4 proved that that wasn't the case at all.
I had high hopes for Dex since book #1. Bummed me that it was just a sweetly meh story. For a crazy and tense brother his book should've been more of a gripping suspence kind.
Finally! Dex and Lauren's story! I devoured this and enjoyed every second of it!
I was graciously provided the audio book to review which Joe Arden and Erin Mallon so perfectly narrated! I was hooked from the start.
If you've been reading the start of the series or are looking to jump in to meet Dex and Lauren you won't be disappointed.
Lauren has just come out of a civil divorce. She's wanted a baby for so long and was unable to make one with her ex-husband, so now when Dex walks back into her life and offers his services she can't help but say yes please.
Dex is know as the bad boy of all bad boys. He's grown up in Westlake with the worst reputation and after becoming a cop and then quitting the force suddenly people are suspicious of him.
Lauren and Dex have somewhat of unfiahed business after their one kiss shared in their teens. So having some fun baby making rekindles that spark.
It was written to perfectly and the right touch of Julie Kriss is usual drama entwined in. The emotions were not too high but you had moments where you just wanted thing to go perfect for them both.
The epilogue made my heart swoon and I'm so happy to finally have all the Riggs brothers with their much deserved happily ever afters. I'd love to see them again but am so appeased with that ending.
An AUDIOBOOK was provided in exchange for an honest review.
This series just kept getting better and better. Make Me Beg was Dex and Lauren's story and is the final book in the Riggs brother series. The story was steamy, sweet and a little emotional and I wished it was longer as the story finished a little to quickly for me. I loved that we get the appearances of the other couples from the previous books as they all brought a certain levity to the story. The chemistry between Dex and Lauren was intense and I liked that the story delved into surrounding Dex's failed career as a cop. Best of all I loved that the author gave us that epilogue which encompassed all four brothers. This novel was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of second chance romance. I listened to the audiobook version of this novel which was narrated by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon. These two have become favorites of mine and I enjoyed their performance with these characters. Their pace and timing was excellent and they brought life to the characters. it was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.
I hae been waiting for Dex Riggs' story! I knew he wasn't the cold jerk that his brothers had written him off as!
Make Me Beg is the final book in the Riggs Brother series, and is the story of eldest brother Dex and Emily's twin sister, Lauren. While the rest of the Riggs clan -- and just about everyone else in town -- has just decided that Dex was a dirty cop, Lauren sees past the mask he wears. Dex was her very first kiss back in high school, and she's always had a soft spot for him. Now, Lauren is piecing her life back together after her divorce, and she and Dex strike up a friendship at Emily and Luke's wedding... a friendship that eventually leads to Dex offering to be Lauren's babydaddy through a baby pact.
But this book is so much more than an agreement to co-parent. As the story delves into Dex's failed police career, we see how much the loss of his career has affected him. In every aspect of his life. And when he is forced to testfy in one of the biggest criminal cases in years, will Lauren stand by her guy, or write him off as the dirty cop everyone assumes Dex to be?
The relationship that develops between these two lost, lonely souls was amazing. Lauren brings out a different side to Dex than the surly guy we've met in the previous books, and I fell in love with him right along with her! I am going to miss the Riggs boys, but Julie Kriss wrapped up the entire series with a pretty boy in an epilogue that covers all four couples. I loved it! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
I don't believe I have read any of the other books by this author, I did not find the story to be very engaging nor attention-grabbing. MMC is supposed to be a very hardcore, mysterious and Out Of Reach type of a character however he was supposed to have a soft side for the female character. However, the author did not build the chemistry between the two main characters up to my expectation. I found the characters had almost instantaneous attraction, supposedly the readers are supposed to find this attraction adequate to be engaged within the story. The sex scenes written more boring and nothing extraordinary. I'm pretty sure I yawned a few times while reading it.
And we've reached the final (and best, IMO) book of the series! This time we get oldest Riggs brother Dex, and Lauren (twin to Emily from Drive Me Wild). There's some history between Lauren and Dex, and the chemistry is off the charts, but there's more to their backstories than I originally thought, but I don't want to spoil any part of that story aspect. All I can say is that this was the perfect way to wrap up this series.
I hate that this series is over. I feel robbed, but I wasn’t. It was just too good and I don’t want to let go.
This book had a lot of hot Dex saying he didn’t follow the rules. I kind of expected him to have several asshat moments, and even expected that I might hate the story at some point.
None of that happened. I never hated him or the story. All of it was so well done I wish there was more of the Riggs brothers. Or maybe a long lost cousin????
My favorite book of them all, Dex is the one Riggs brother people liked to call crazy. But really he is just misunderstood. He doesn’t know what to do, but he does have this mutual attraction to Lauren. I kinda loved that they knew each other when they were young even if they never ran in the same circles. Overall this series was a great read and I am glad I picked it up thanks to a friend. Very much enjoyed the narration as well.
Julie Kriss is one of my favorite authors and she never disappoints! It took me a while to get this book in my hands, but I'm so happy now that I've finished it! Dex's story was so sweet!
