Griffin Rockwell has returned to Rocky Peak Lodge with a secret. Not even his family knows why he left his beloved sport of motocross at the top of his game. Locals still consider him a hero, but these days the best he can do is play bodyguard to the fascinating new employee at his brother’s pub. As for their intense attraction, he can handle that. Right?

Serena Riggs has a secret of her own. She’s on a mission to investigate the disappearance of her father, last seen in the small Cascades town years ago. Someone wants her to stop — but she’s not one to back down, especially with a sinfully sexy “bodyguard” by her side. When another threat surfaces, the only place she feels safe is in Griffin’s arms… and in his bed.

As the couple falls deeper by the day, danger looms from a direction they never imagined. Can their love survive the most stunning secret of all?

The Rogue

A very enjoyable story. Griffen and Serena both have secrets in their lives. Turns out they may only trust each other. Be sure and read this second book in Jennifer Bernard's The Rockwell Legacy.

I loved the first book in this series and I will admit that The Rogue, the second book about the Rockwell family, is even better. (Please don’t tell Kai, from The Rebel; I really loved his story, too!) Griffin Rockwell’s story grabbed my heart right from the start. He comes across as brash and daring, when he really is broken and hurting from not only life today, but his childhood, too. Such a deep, deep character; it was so easy to fall in love with him.

Except for Serena, Griff’s brother Jake’s bartender. Griff and Serena met at the end of The Rebel and trust me, it was a definite ‘meet-let the sparks fly’, rather than a ‘meet-cute’. Let’s say they sizzled from the start, with much attitude about the ‘heat’ never happening between them. (Yeah, that worked out for them!) Both Griffin and Serena have so much going on in their lives, the least of which is Serena has a stalker. She is also looking for her many-years-missing father and it seems that someone may not want that to surface. Griffin has just retired from motocross racing and is keeping his own secrets from his family and the world.

The Blackwells are a hoot. Griff’s brothers and sisters are nosey and noisy, funny and loving, and the biggest pains in his behind…but their bond is unshakeable and the author truly makes that come through in the story. Loved the family dynamics, loved the underlying intrigue, and ROFL with the family! Serena and Griff are SO good together, even when they try so hard to not be.

Loved The Rogue, it is a standalone story, but really loved the first in this new series, too. I just finished reading Griff’s and Serena’s story and can’t wait for the next book…a no-pressure note to the author, but could you hurry, please?

when Griffin retires from racing he comes home to help his family. Serena is working for his brother at the bar and has been searching for answers about her father. threats in her world lead Griffin to step in as a temporary bodyguard. as both of these people have secrets they want to keep from others, they find out they can trust each other on how to deal with the secrets. This book has a lot of questions, that end up being answered and relationships that form to become family. This is my honest review for a book I volunteered to read. I recommend you one click it as I am going to. you won't be disappointed in this mystery that not only uncovers some answers, but uncovers love for two people who weren't expecting it

The Rockwell Legacy continues in this fantastic book that gives us Griffin Rockwell's story. His family doesn't understand why Griffin has decided to walk away from his successful motocross career and he has no intention of telling them the real reason. Serena Riggs works for his brother and Griffin knows she has secrets too. When it becomes clear Serena is in danger Griffin steps in to act as her bodyguard. Spending all their time together makes it impossible to ignore the attraction between them. When her secret comes out will they lose what they've just found together?

Great story that is very well written with some pretty amazing characters. I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed this round of Rockewell's. Griffin and Serena were a fun pair. I loved the driving lesson Griffin gave Serena, as I could relate to not being comfortable with spinning in a vehicle. But it is good to know how to deal with the spin the best you can.

Loved how we got a good amount of the whole clan of siblings during this one since Isabelle was back for a portion of it. How they interact with each other is amusing. Although you can feel that they all love each other and will do anything to stand up and help out. But that also makes it hard sometimes when you have an issue like Griffin did with his hearing. He should have known he could tell them and they would have his back. Sometimes though it's hard to bring it up as then you have to accept it yourself, and Griffin sure had trouble admitting he was not as "whole" as he used to be. Which made Serena a great fit for him. She was dealing with her own issues of finding her father that disappeared when she was younger.

I would have loved to see some of Serena's paintings!!

What was a little hard to take was the issue with Griffin's high school football coach. I know it happens and I don't agree with it. Having Griffin go talk to him though after all those years seemed a stretch. Of course things were intermingled in all the characters worlds, and things were glossed over a bit in hopes to get past them quickly. I just like more information on the way the "issue" gets closed out. There is always so much build-up, then about one to two pages of resolution which is not enough for me personally. With it being a series, we can have a little bit more info show up in the next book, so that helps. I still want more at the end of each book.

All in all a fun read. Can't wait for Isabelle and Lyle!

I am loving this newest series by Jennifer Bernard! This one is about Griffen Rockwell and his early retirement. Since he's only 30, it seems way too early but being a professional motocross racer is not easy on the body. Her had more injuries than he can count. Sometimes the injuries aren't what we can see. He's come home to help with the family home and business but also to figure out what to do next. Serena might be a great distraction. Serena doesn't think so. Shes in town temporarily. Her father went missing years ago and she's only following leads. Until the next one shows up, she feels safe here. Shes also running from something she did.
Griff and Serena work together to find out clues to where her father may have disappeared to. What they find may not be what they expected but it does bring them closer together. Griff also has to find what calls to him. His career in motocross is not something he can go back to. The town heckles him to no end and he has to take what they say about him. Either that or tell people the real reason. Nope, not happening. He has an unresolved battle from high school that comes back to him in a huge way. He has his father who can't accept that Griff quit. And he has this attraction to Serena that his brother will kill him if he acts on it.
Serena has a few demons in her closet as well. She's made some high profile people mad in a way that she had to leave her beloved town and career behind. Her career will probably be there when she get back, maybe. She had to leave town quickly. The mystery surrounding her father isn't sounding good at all. She knows he wouldn't have not made contact with her all these years but the doubt is there.
Thought this book, I laughed, I cried( a little), I held my breath, and I was breathless. Jennifer Bernard writes so smoothly and it seems effortlessly. I felt immersed in this town and in this family. I can't wait for the rest of this series but don't want it to end.

WOW!! I loved reading The Rogue by Jennifer Bernard, book two in her brand new series, The Rockwell Legacy. Griffin Rockwell has shocked his family & the sports world when while he’s on top of the motocross world, he suddenly retires. He has a secret which he doesn’t want the world to know and it is because of the secret he is retiring. He came home to help get the family business updated & back on track, or at least that is what he is telling everyone. Griffin might come across as arrogant but he is actually broken and hurting from not only his life today, but also from his childhood. He has so many layers that made it easy to fall in love with him.

Serena Riggs took a job at the Last Chance Pub as a way to look for clues about the disappearance of her father many years ago in the area. She escaped a bad situation in San Francisco but she thinks might have a stalker following her when she begins getting threatening notes. As a favor for his brother Jake, her boss, Griffin becomes her bodyguard and he takes the role seriously.

Griffin & Serena are an amazing couple. From the minute they meet, their passion is clear. They both came across as tough, independent, and a little closed-off to the rest of the world but both are hiding some huge secrets along with a big amount of vulnerability. I also appreciated the way she handled the side story regarding the young men who were being abused over the years by their coach & the strength it took to come forward.

Ms. Bernard has done it again! She wrote an amazing and fantastic must read book. This story is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters; as well as some mystery. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Serena and Griffin have secrets. Serena's secrets brought her to Rocky Peak from San Francisco. While Griffin's secrets brought him back home. Jake, Griffin's brother, is the only one who knows her secret as he gave her a job when she first came to town. When he has to go out of town, Jake leaves Serena in charge of the bar but asks Griffin to watch over her as she has received threats. Jake didn't relay her story, just that Serena may be in trouble.

Griffin, newly retired from pro-motor cross racing, doesn't know what to do with his life. He came back to help renovate the lodge--hoping to figure out what he's going to do with the rest of his life. The offer to be Serena's bodyguard couldn't come at a better time. It gives him a chance to be "helpful", while spending time with the captivating bartender. As they work together to figure out who's threatening Serena, secrets are revealed with possible deadly results.

This is the second novel in the Rockwell series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I liked knowing the background from book one while reading book two. I honestly have to say this is a first for me. I usually have a favorite story when reading a series, but with this series it's not true. I absolutely LOVED Griffin and Serena as much as Kai and Nicole!!! I loved how, even though the Rockwell's have their difficulties, they always have each other's backs. They embrace the truth and power through. I also enjoyed Griffin's realization that his disability could actually help others. I also rooted for Marley and the others held back by fear of retaliation. I adore Grace's artistic, childlike qualities. She and Serena became fast friends. Serena and Griffin were a perfect match! I can't wait to find out how the rest of the family's stories unfold. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Intriguing, steamy and oh so good! With the second book in The Rockwell Legacy, we get down and dirty with the family superstar! Griffin is heading home after unexpected retiring at the top of his game in motocross. His family has no clue why he's given up the sport he loves and excels at, and he's not so sure he's ready to reveal his secret just yet. When he meets Serena Riggs, he's instantly drawn to her. They don't intend to start a relationship, but time together turns out to be a lot of fun ... and flirting abounds! Will they be able to outrun the danger surrounding them to find their happily ever after? Loved Griff's story! It's exciting, well developed and the air of mystery brings so much to the story line. Looking forward to more!

Griffin Rockwell left home years ago and excelled at everything he set out to do. Now he's retiring for a reason no one knows about and coming home to lie low for awhile. When his brother Jake asks him for a favor, he can't resist ... even if it's putting him in close proximity to the sassy bartender that's caught his eye!

Serena Riggs is in town on a mission. She's searching for her father who disappeared years ago. Her research has led her here to this small town where she believes he passed through just before he was never heard from again. Can she find the answers she's been looking for? And will Griffin succeed in protecting her from the danger that seems to have come knocking?

Griffin Rockwell has shocked his family & the sports world. He’s on top of the motocross world & suddenly retires. What no one knows is that he has a secret & that secret is why he’s retiring. He doesn’t want anyone to know. He’s come home to help get the family business updated & back on track. He didn’t expect to find someone he’s attracted to right off the bat.

Serena Riggs has taken a job at the Last Chance Pub to try to snoop. She needs a reason to be in town while she’s searching for clues about her father. He disappeared when she was little & she’s trying to find him. She’s escaped a bad situation in San Francisco & thinks it’s followed her when she begins to get threatening notes. Griffin becomes her bodyguard & the heat starts immediately.

Jennifer Bernard has done it again! Griffin & Serena make an explosive couple. From the minute they meet, the passion is apparent & the scenes are hot & steamy. I felt that she did an excellent job with the side story regarding young men being abused by their coach over the years & the strength it took to come forward. Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone however they are about the same family & continue on the same story line. I wasn’t able to put this one down!

THE ROGUE is the second book in the Rockwell Legacy series. Griffin has returned to Rocky Peak after retiring from the pro Motocross Circuit. He keeps his reason behind his retirement a secret from his family and friends. He meets Serena at his brother’s bar. He gets a chance to know her better after he takes up bodyguard duties to protect her while his brother is away. Serena is a sassy and feisty artist who has come to Rocky Peaks to find out more about her father’s disappearance. His last known location is this town. She has been getting threatening notes warning her to leave Rocky Peaks or else. Serena has had troubles in her past that could also come back to bite her, but she doesn’t want to leave without finding out what happened to her father. The chemistry between Griffin and Serena is high octane just like his motocross racing. Can he keep her safe? Can she help him figure out his future? Do they have a chance of a future together? Read this smart, witty and oh so sexy book to get the answers. You will come to love the two main characters, and watch out for Mad Max, Griffin’s father....he will definitely peak your interest.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

A top-notch contemporary romance - 4.5*

The series is about the Rockwell family set against the backdrop of their legacy Rocky Peak Lodge. Griffin Rockwell is a world-famous motocross racer who unexpectedly retires from the sport and comes home with a secret he is unwilling to share with his family. Serena Riggs has arrived in town with her own secret - she's looking for clues about her missing father. When these two meet, it's immediate chemistry - and ooh, la, la can this author pen a steamy sex scene! And thanks to the author for the sub-story addressing the need to speak up about the abuse of children at the hands of adults abusing their power and position of trust.

This book is what contemporary romance should be - sweet, sassy, sexy, suspenseful - with characters you want to read about in realistic situations and with real life problems and flaws. I was lucky and won an ARC of this book in a contest from the author but hadn't yet read the first one in the series - it's now next on my TBR list and I am eagerly awaiting book #3! Thank you Jennifer Bernard for a great read - more Rockwells please!

Griffin Rockwell left Rocky Peak Lodge to pursue a career in motor cross. When he unexpectedly retires at the height of his career, he returns home to help with the Lodge. When his brother convinces him to play bodyguard for his new employee, Griffin takes the job seriously. Serena Riggs is searching for answers, but what she doesn’t expect is to be intrigued by her new body guard.
Griffin and Serena are two people searching for their path, but don’t realize it. Their romance is steamy and their interactions are fun. This was another great read by Jennifer Bernard. She has a way with both characters and a story that will draw you in and keep you giggling. The Rockwell family is full of heart and they love each other unconditionally, and that doesn’t just include those born into the family. They will do anything for their family.
This is the second book in the series, but you won’t be lost if you start with it. You will, however, miss more antics and interactions of the Rockwell family, and you really don’t want to miss a minute of this family. I can’t wait for the next one… Isabelle’s story should make for another rollicking story!

SO. GOOD.

The Rogue by Jennifer Bernard is the second in the Rockwell Legacy series, and is about Griffin Rockwell, motocross star and overall good guy. Make that ex-motocross star...

Griffin's back in Rocky Peak at the Rockwell Lodge post-retirement. He's supposed to be on top of the world, retiring at the top of his game after a winning season and living the good life. What he is reluctant to admit even to himself is that he's back home to lick his wounds a bit surrounded by his family and hide away from the rest of the world. And he hasn't admitted the real reason he retired even to his family.

Serena Riggs is in Rocky Peak for reasons of her own as well. She's a temporary bartender, and no one knows much about her, and she'd like to keep it that way.

Jennifer Bernard's The Rogue is romance and a little mystery and a lot of fun and family and heart. I loved The Rogue and seeing these two cautious people find someone they can trust to let their walls down with.

I'm definitely impatient to read the rest of the Rockwells' stories too!

The Rogue is the second book in Jennifer Bernard’s The Rockwell Legacy series. I enjoyed Griffin and Serena’s story. Griffin was forced to retire from the sport he loved – Motorcross. He returned to Rocky Peak to surround himself with family and learn to deal with his new life.

Serena on the other hand is searching for answers. She’s doing all she can to locate her father. On top of that, both of them are dealing with issues from their pasts.

The Rogue is full of twists and turns as Griffin deals with his health ailment along with setting a wrong from high school into a right while Serena uncovers her father’s past.

I highly recommend reading The Rogue along with the first book in the series, The Rebel. This is a standalone book. I look forward to the next book in the series. I received an advanced copy of The Rogue. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and this is my honest review.

If The Rebel left you hungry for more, The Rogue will not disappoint. In the latest installment of the Rockwell legacy we follow the story of Griffin Rockwell famed motor cross driver. When Kai decided to give up his life no one expected Griffin to follow suite. Why on earth would he want to retire at the height of his career? There must be a reason. The question is will he tell his family and what will it do to his legacy in Rocky Peak. And then there is Serena Riggs. She is currently working for Griffin’s brother Jake at the local watering hole. After a few anonymous threatening notes Serena clearly has some secrets of her own. The Rockwell family doesn’t play games though so it’s not surprising that Jake convinces Griffin to act as Serena’s bodyguard. Will that be a helpful or a hinderance? The Rockwell Legacy series is a must read. If you’re looking for a quick easy read this is definitely for you. You will not want to put this book down!

Griffin Rockwell comes home to help with his familiy's homestead after retiring from Motocross at the age of 30. He refuses to admit the real reason for his retirement to ANYONE. When he comes home, his brother introduces him to Serena Riggs, a newcomer to the town who is also running with her own secret. Griffin's brother, Jake, asks Griffin to be Serena's bodyguard because, she has been receiving ominous threats.
The attraction between Griff and Serena is immediate and intense but, the fact that they both have secrets they are not about to reveal, causes them to attempt to keep their relationship easy and non-commital!
This is the perfect combination of family, friends and, how to blindly feel your way through an explosive attraction while not giving too much away!
Not the type of book you want to put down 'til it's done!

I absolutely love Griffin & Serena! Their story is just so wonderful. Griffin is amazing, sexy, strong, smart and loves his family. He is a top motocross racer who suddenly decides to retire and move back to Rocky Peak. Even though he is older for a racer, he is still at the top of his game. No one knows why he would decide to stop racing.
His brother Jake asks him to be Serena's body guard because she is having some problems. Serena has been bartending for Jake but she is actually an artist. Many secrets and things about her past, her father, Griffin's father and mother are revealed in this wonderful and and intriguing story about two people who were a little lost until they find each other and a love so big it could not be denied.
I am loving this Rockwell series so much! It was great to get more of Kai and Nicole, Max the patriarch of the family and the other Rockwell siblings. This is a funny loud family but when the chips are down you want them in your corner!

“Turning On technicolor in a black and white world”. This is how Griffin describes Serena. In the second installment of the Rockwell family, both Griffin and Serena are coming to grips with reality while facing an uncertain future. They’re also fighting something else.

Griffin Rockwell and Serena Riggs are the keeper of many secrets. Secrets that are both embarrassing because image is everything. But there are also the secrets that could hurt them, but also the people they love the most.

This is a story of old hurts and new love. It is also a story of redemption.

To find out all the juicy secrets you’ll have to read the book. It will be well worth it.

I’m a fan of Jennifer Bernard’s books and I highly recommend this book.

Jennifer Bernard!!! You are AMAZING!!!

I was anticipating book 2 in The Rockwell Legacy and…WOW!!!

Griffin Rockwell retired suddenly from motocross with a secret. Artist, Serena Riggs has moved to town to figure out what happened to her dad, and starts getting threats.
I was looking forward to these two getting together! I love how they start off as “not so friendly” and then how they come to be. The twists in this story are wonderful! The description of the characters, the slight bit of humor, the level of sexual heat, the continued story line of the series and the way the characters mesh is fantastic!

Read this series and you will know why Jennifer Bernard is one of my FAVORITES! Can’t wait for book 3!!! Very well done, Jennifer!!! LOVED THIS!!! <3

This is the second in this series but can be read on its own.

Griffin and Serena. I loved these two together! Both appear to be tough, independent, and a little closed-off to the rest of the world but they are both hiding pretty big secrets and a big helping of vulnerability. I loved how they came together. Yes, there was some serious attraction and plenty of sexy times but I loved how they talked to each other and supported each other.

I love this series! The siblings are hilarious together and we are learning more and more about their background and the mystery surrounding their mom (if you didn't read the first book you will quickly catch up....but you should read The Rebel because it's really good too!). I am looking forward to the next Rockwell story!!

Griffin has retired early from his motocross profession at the top of career, he has left with a big secret. He has now returned home to continue and rebuild the Rockwell Legacy. Serena has her own secret too. She is new to town and is snooping around on the disappearance of her father. When she has threats on her life, Griffin has agreed to be her bodyguard. Soon sparks will fly will between them.

This is a fast paced story with plenty of secrets and intrigue that will keep you turning the pages. Griffin is very protective of Serena. They both help each other through out the story in bringing the past forward.

I highly recommend this book. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I am loving the Rockwell family!!

Griffin came back to Rocky Point with a secret. He's retired from the sport he loves and unsure of what to do next. Enter Serena who's in Rocky Point searching for a trace of her father. Both are sure they don't want to have anything to do with each other. What an awesome read - three dimensional characters; a great story line; and plenty of steam to keep any reader totally invested in the book. Griffin's family is huge and I'm sure there will be a story about each and every one of them, which is lucky for us since we'll get to enjoy the family and their story for many books to come. This is a do not miss series.

Griffin may be the gruff Rogue, but deep down he's the protector, especially for Serena, who doesn't fall for his outward charm or general loner exterior. Serena sees him, even when he's trying his hardest to cover up what he wants no one to know. I'm so glad they confided in each other and worked as a team. I loved this book from start to finish (I even stayed up until 1:30 to finish it!)! I love this family and their commitment to each other even through the hard times. The epilogue was a lead in to the next book coming out in December. It's going to be hell to wait two months for the next story...

This is the story of Griffin and Serena. Griffin is a hot motocross racer who announced his retirement for reasons he is keeping to himself. Serena is a beautiful redheaded barmaid/artist. The second book of the Rockwell Legacy brings us back to Rocky Peak. There are some twists and turns as we learn more about the quirky Rockwell's. Jennifer writes well developed characters that show their human vulnerabilities with a touch of humor. I first read Jennifer Bernard book several years ago, I have now read all up to this. She has never disappointed me yet and won't you either!

I received an advance copy from the author in exchange for my open and honest opinion.

I loved the first book in this series, but I have to admit that Griffin's book was even better. Griffin is the definition of alpha....hot, strong, sexy and strong and to top it off imho loves his family. So when Jake needs help watching Serena while he is out of town he readily agrees. Serena is in Rockwell hunting for clues regarding her father's disappearance and has had threats made against her. Griffin and Serena were great together and supported each other so well. Serena helps Griffin open up to his family about his surprise retirement. Not only did I love Griffin and Serena, I loved all of the secondary characters as well. What a great story.

I love this new series - The Rockwell Legacy - by Jennifer Bernard! This is book two and my favorite so far. Of course, I have a very strong feeling I am going to say that about each book to come!

OMG, I could not put this book down! I was completely wrapped up in Griffin and Serena’s story from the start, it was like everything else took a backseat until I finished it! I thought this was a wonderful romance full of passion, secrets, pain, redemption, and of course, love! The chemistry was intense and as Griffin and Serena found out…undeniable!

This is a series you really must check out. I am loving the Rockwell family (especially grumpy ole Max) and can’t wait to read more about them!
