Power and wealth are what drives my family, which is why I’ve always had a strained relationship with them—especially with my sister Hannah. We just never seemed to care about the same things in life.
The day I returned home, I didn’t expect anything to be different…but I was wrong. My family is falling apart at the seams. My sister’s marriage is hanging by a thread, and I’m stuck in the middle of it. Why? Because I’m dangerously attracted to my brother-in-law.
Nathan is loving, kind, and completely off limits. But no matter how hard I try, how guilty I feel, I can’t stop myself from wanting him.
And to make things worse, Nathan is the kind of man who knows what he wants, and he’s making it blatantly clear that what he wants…is me.
The Right Kind of Wrong has my emotions all out of whack, so I'm not sure how this review is going to go. First of all, I can't believe this is L.B. Reyes' first book, because she played with my emotions like someone who has been shredding readers emotions for decades. It all starts when Evie comes home after being gone for 3 years. Her family is a nightmare, with the exception of her Nana, so staying with her older sister, Hannah, wasn't the best idea. Evie is completely different from all of them, so she and her brother-in-law, Nathan, spend a lot of time together with sparks flying. And yeah, I know how that sounds, and usually I'm not down with this kind of forbidden love, but when everything comes out, it didn't seem so taboo anymore. The story took me for quite the emotional ride, so I stayed 50 shades of jacked up, and I couldn't stop turning the pages to save my life. There were f-bomb worthy twists & turns all over the place, so drop them I did in spades. Now, here's my issue, the ending. I couldn't tell if it was ended or a cliffy, either way, I'm upset. Hopefully, it's just a cliffy that tried to kill me, but again, I couldn't tell because it did have sort of a permanent ending feel to it. Anyway, it was definitely an extreme emotion experience, so I'm excited to see what this talented author does in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
First off OMG was what I was thinking after I finished this book. As I was writing my notes for the review I was thinking holy hell what did I just read because there were so many twists and turns. This is one rollercoaster ride as far as a romance is concerned. I mean it is taboo but for some reason it worked because the heart wants what the heart wants and it can't be controlled.
Evelyn comes home after being away for a while to find that the perfect family she left years ago is now in turmoil. Her sister's marriage is over and her parents are not doing well and it pains her to see this but she is secretly happy because her family was high on the throne and treated others like they were beneath them.
Evelyn has always been friends with Nathan her sister's husband but they find themselves in a peculiar situation because they both have feelings for one another but they can't act upon them. What are they to do? They both love each other but being together will destroy her sister. Is it worth it in the end to be together?

The Right Kind of Wrong is a book that I cherish close to my heart, and it also happens to be one of my FAVORITE romance novel (I doubt any other book will be able to top the list). The author, L.B. Reyes does a fantastic job at captivating the forbidden love developing between the characters, Eveline and Nathan. Though both different in their own way Reyes manages to make the reader fall in love with each of their beautiful personalities. Each chapter is laced with so much emotion that as a reader I felt the story unfold right in front of me and also managed to feel what each character felt. If there’s one book worth being on anybody’s list it’s definitely this one; it’s a book you won’t regret reading.
I’m torn on this book. It kept my interest and I enjoyed the characters but I felt the writing was a bit stunted, the story was a bit predictable, and some of the backstory was missing. That being said I liked Nathan and his protectiveness of Evelyn. And even with everything Evelyn has had to endure she is a level headed, kind person. Nathan and Evelyn are perfect together but it’s a bit complicated since Nathan is married to Evelyn’s sister, Hannah. Overall it’s a good story and I would be interested to read other books about some of the supporting characters in this book.
Evie has never had a normal family always feeling loke the outcast. All her family cared about was money mostly raised by her grandmother. When she comes home to stay with her sister and brother in-law she sees things aren’t the same. The more time she spends with Nathan the more their feelings change for each other. She sees the truth about her family when her grandmother dies and the only one she can truly count on is Nathan. But when Nathan breaks things off and a sex video goes viral at her school her whole world is turns upside down and all she wants to do is run away. This book was messed up! Great story first youre like she’s having an affair with her sisters husband but then as u read on u understand what’s happening then the coldness of the family how shocking it was I have to say great story. The end made me sad I hope there’s another book because I want to know what happens with evie and Nathan. Check it out!
This book was a little different than what I had expected. I wasn't expecting this type of forbidden romance and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. It wasn't long, however, before I was fully sucked in. I wanted to know what was going to happen with Evelyn and Nathan. I wanted to curse Hannah out and her parents!
It was really easy to get wrapped up in the romance and justify the relationship the same way the two in it were. I didn't think I would feel that way, but with the characters the way they were written, the forbidden part didn't seem so bad.
I didn't realize when I started that it was part of a series and I have to admit to not being completely happy with the ending. Knowing there is more to follow raised my spirits a bit and I have already started on book 2!
This book was okay. I didn't like the writing style of this book. The story line did keep me interested and I wanted to finish it to know what happened but there were times in the book that I didn't understand the reasoning behind some of the decisions made by the main characters. I did not like th ending but finding out now that there is a second book I see why it left off like that. I probably won't pick up the next one, just wasn't that invested for me. Was a good read though.
Evelyn is a spirited girl who is the black sheep of her family. This is a beautifully written story, which with twists; complex characters, and has a forbidden romance, all which leads to an addictive page turner. I was totally hooked and captivated throughout, and look forward to reading more from this talented author, and I highly recommend her work for all readers.
It's a well written book and that's the only positive thing I can say about it! Evelyn is a spoiled brat who thinks she's better than everyone, but doesn't have a problem spending her corrupt family's money while she looks down on them from her high horse... oh and if your sister is a witch with a b it's okay to do her husband in her own home where you're living. I don't understand the whole concept if they were so close why didn't she stay with her Nana, if she hated her family so much why didn't she get a job and got her own place, also falling in love with the wrong person does happen, but you might want to wait for the ink to dry on the divorce papers before getting involved, you know just so you can look in the mirror latter on or at least wait for them to be separated and you also shouldn't trow around speeches about betrayal when you're the one cheating. And to top it all off she done all this BS for nothing!
The Right Kind of Wrong is definitely one of the best romance novels I have read. It goes beyond average romance stories because of the major growth that is seen in the main character, Evelyn, as she endures various adversities. Forbidden love is not the only aspect that makes the story climatic, this book is loaded with many twists and turns that keep you intrigued. The Right Kind of Wrong is absolutely, a riveting journey that I would certainly recommend.
I would also like to say that L.B Reyes is an excellent author. I first discovered her book on Wattpad so I was happy to see that such a thrilling book was being published
It was pretty decent book. But didn't realize it was a forbidden romance when I signed up and marriage topics is a tough subject for myself. Nothing against the author and her writing. But I will check out more of her books in the future.
Anything with the word forbidden is totally my go to type of book and the synopsis to this one was surely one that I knew I had to grab and read.
I was totally immersed in this story line. I loved Evelyn, she was just a sweet, loving and caring girl who just wanted her parents and her sister's attention. She didn't ask for much, but just for her family to show her a little bit of love. But she comes to realize that her parents and her sister are alike and they are hopeless, evil people who care for no one other than themselves.
When Evelyn decides to move back home, the last thing she expected to was to find herself strongly attracted to her brother-in-law, Nathan. Nathan has always been sweet and kind to her and just like her nana, he's the only other person who is there for her. But when they both start feeling that attraction, there's where the lines get blurred.
As much as Evelyn wants to fight the attraction, it's just not possible and Nathan isn't making it any easier for her since he feels the same way about her.
Talk about a captivated story that will have you glued to your kindle because it's one of those that you just need to know what is going to happen, how will the secrets get unraveled, why is Evelyn's family so shady????
Talk about entertaining!
**Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
The storyline had all the ingredients for angst, betrayal and intense feels. What I read instead was a book that kept telling and promising those things, but fell short on the delivery. Evie comes off as kind hearted and a little immature. Her relationship development with Nathan went from 0 to 60. They act like they are heavily restraining themselves from their true impulses, but there’s hardly a nudge before they do. Nathan is a good guy, yet he under delivers, too even if his heart is in the right place. A lot of anticipation is built up with how evil and awful Erie’s parents and sister Hannah are, but they hardly ever talk so their presence isn’t all that ominous. Hannah isn’t presented in a favorable light, but she’s not portrayed as a strong enough villain either. There’s definite potential, but it was a bit underwhelming overall.
I've just finished reading this book and I'm a mess 😭😭😭. I don't think I've ever read something like this that is brilliantly amazing but at the same time gut wrenching. The author did an incredible job writing this and I'm truly hooked. The characters were well developed and the storyline gripping. I'm off to buy book two
I thought this book would be more taboo, but in reality it wasn't. Nathan was Evie's husband but they really weren't together. I think it was more of a love story between friends. It was a little slow in the beginning but the pace picked up in the middle. Overall a good book.
First let me say that I do enjoy this book, but for me there were some issues. I liked Nathan and Evelyn enough, but I wanted then to share more of their individual problems, especially those that impacted their relationship. I also had issues with them beginning a relationship while he was still married, to her sister no less, even if the whole thing was a sham. Finally, there were a few too many editing issues for me to overlook them.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved how strong Evelyn grew throughout the book. Nathan was a great person from start to finish. Evelyn’s family (except grandma) were horrible and it was sometimes painful to hear their stories. Looking forward to the conclusion of their story.
Author did a good job of making the main characters likeable. Idk if there's a sequel but I like to read another story with them. I did not like the sister. Overall good read. Look forward to more of the author.
****The Right Kind of Wrong by L. B. Reyes: Evelyn/Nathan. Their story is different, rocky, angsty, unconventional. Lots of family drama. There’re things I didn’t “get”, and the writing is a bit quirky. But it pulled me in. I didn’t like the ending… —PTators
I started out not wanting to like this book but by the end cheering for Evelyn and Nathan. Very few books have made me emotionally invested as this one and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Really enjoyed this book, angst, forbidden, family betrayal.. Its got it all. Would recommend if you need an easy read to pass the time 👍 didn't realise there was a book 2 until I got to the end so looking forward to that 😍
She growth to do as individual and make sure to figure who truly was. Family sometimes are not blood but the ones that stand by you through the good and the bad. Nathan learned from his mistakes from his impulsive youth but a pretty hefty price.
Extremely well written book that has characters that draw you in immediately. Their stories and the power behind the words are just so captivating. Totally a must read
