Intermittent freelance journalist for fifty years, mostly in Kenya. Six children and seven grandkids are scattered over three continents, so I’ve developed a taste for travel, and have “walked” round the world, buying a bird book in every country I visit. My first novel, BREATH OF AFRICA, which is dedicated to the youth of Kenya, was published in 2013. The story draws on my experiences in Kenya, a country going through the throes of re-birth from the ‘50’s to the ‘80’s. My second book I LIFT UP MY EYES is a novella set in Sussex. A strong woman prevails against family sickness. And now I can announce the impending publication of GRASS SHOOTS, sequel to Breath of Africa, which brings Kenya's story up to present times.
