Carranza and Lindhe are good for understanding the science behind periodontitis, but this is an excellent practical manual for safe and effective periodontal instrumentation. Incredibly useful book.

A good book for understanding practical application, especially since it is rich in illustrations, but most of its information is repetitive and contains a lot of filler
