Love and Care #3

Demanding Discipline

Rate this book
Sean uses his sassy mouth and bratty behavior to distance himself from others. He’s afraid to care too deeply for anyone or anything. But the walls he’s built have turned his life into a hot mess. He can’t settle on a career, he’s rarely on time, and his only real friend is his roommate. No matter how many times he resolves to change, he falls right back into his old patterns. Then he meets Blake, a man who’s not afraid to use a firm hand with Sean.

Blake is a former Navy SEAL who has men falling at his feet. But he doesn’t want just any man, he wants Sean. And he longs to teach Sean the discipline he so desperately needs. As he trains Sean through pony play and other games, Blake learns more about Sean’s insecurities and realizes Sean needs more than a master, he needs a caring lover—maybe even a Daddy.

Demanding Discipline is third book in the Love and Care series. The series begins with Father of the Groom

Demanding Discipline is Silvia Violet’s third story in her Love and Care series. Combining some of my favorite kinks (edging, pony play, and a healthy does of Domestic Discipline) with a compelling and romantic relationship, makes this story the hottest one yet. You can read Demanding Discipline as a stand-alone, but by all means you go back and read the two books that cover Avery and Graham’s story - trust me, they’re amazing too!

Sean’s a bratty submissive who avoids intimacy at all costs. When he gets a look at gorgeous, dommy Blake, Sean can’t resist (oh, that opening scene!). Blake has his work cut out for him.

Blake sees through Sean’s subterfuge and calls him on it, which turns out to be exactly what Sean needs. Blake tells him, “‘You don’t have to change yourself to be what I want. You just have to be willing to be honest and try.’” Blake is the right guy at the right time, and these two are perfect for each other.

These are realistic and well developed characters. Both Sean and Blake truly examine what they need from each other, as well as what they can give, which makes their connection intense. When Silvia Violet combines this type of relationship with the beautifully descriptive sex scenes and the gorgeous dirty talk she writes so well, the result is spectacular!

Love and Care continues to be a wonderful series, though waiting for Leo and Wren’s story might just about kill me... Fun and funny, in addition to hot as hell, I highly recommend it.

I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest review

This is exactly what I want in bdsm. Fuck yeahh a strong Dom who isn’t afraid to stay away, who is controlling to the bone.
One who knows it all and does the right thing.

Sean a brat of a guy doesn’t want anyone in his heart.... he only wants to play a game to get spanked and fucked... hard
Blake, former Navy SEAL, strong and firm is Dom and knows exactly what Sean needs.

There is a lot of struggling and power exchange. Blake doesn’t like games, he can have every sub but only wants Sean. Sean fights hard against Blake and himself.

This story amazingly strong written is captivating as hell and has a wonderful dynamic.
Seal and Blake were put down well, their characters stayed consistent. The scenes were delicious and powerful.
It’s part of a series but can read as a stand alone.

Readers are first exposed to the Sean/Blake storyline in After the Weekend, when Sean, accompanied by Avery, Graham, and Leo, runs into Blake in a darkened private room at the bdsm club Thrust. When the two men's eyes meet across the room, there is this incredibly tense moment where you can feel everything bubbling just under the surface - the want, the sadness, the betrayal. I didn't know much about the ex-Navy SEAL and the sassy rolling stone, but I wanted to know more.

Alas, the start of this book didn't really live up to that one great moment in Book 2.

Because the first 30% of this book took place largely off page during Book 2, I feel like Violet rushed the telling of it here, so that she could get to new territory. The result was that when I arrived again at that silent moment between Sean and Blake that I had enjoyed so much in Book 2, I didn't feel as if the emotions and interactions between the characters leading up to it justified that level of intense reaction.

I'm still reading the book, so I hope that the rest of the story steps it up a notch or ten.

I read this purely because I was intrigued as to what pony play actually entailed (pun intended). This wasn’t badly written, the characters were ok and their bedroom activities were…interesting, but I don’t feel like I could fairly rate it.

I love this author and I love Avery and Graham. For me there was a disconnect with the characters in this one. I just felt like I had missed part of the story or something?

I LOVE this author, I think she writes great kink and great age gap stories...there was just something off about this one for me. I look forward to Leo and Wren’s story!

Demanding Discipline is the third book in Silvia Violet’s Love and Care series. The first two books followed the same couple, Avery and Graham, and we met both Sean and Blake in those books (Sean has a bigger side role as Avery’s roommate). While characters from the series do appear here, you can pretty easily jump into this book without having read the others. In fact, this story actually overlaps the timeline of After the Weekend a bit, so we do get a little background provided here.

I liked following this series to new MCs, especially since we get a tease of their hookup in the last book, and I am partial to a good bratty sub in my reading. Violet does a nice job developing Sean’s character and giving us the sense of how he is fighting against himself. We know what he wants, and he does too, he just has to let himself have it. It gives a nice dynamic between the men as Sean is wanting to hold back and Blake is clear he is looking for more, and Sean has to come to terms with what he really wants. The guys are sexy together with nice chemistry and there is a good progression to their relationship over the course of the book. While this story feels like mostly Sean’s journey, I did feel we get to know Blake as well.

***** Love and Care Book 3. I'm loving this sexy series by Silvia Violet. The previous book had Sean deciding to talk to Blake, so we get to see that conversation and what will be worked out.
Sassy Sean is adrift,

always hopping from jobs and men, because he's insecure and indecisive, and we soon find out why.
Ex Navy SEAL Blake knows what he wants to find,

but it's eluded him, until he sees hope in a relationship with mixed up Sean.
It is a tough start with these men, but small steps lead to bigger ones. Sean grows from being a "brat" to finding his center and true love. Long talks, time spent together, our guys get better and hotter as they go forward.
We get BDSM, Dom/sub, Daddy/boy, gritty sex and needs met, with spankings, a crop, plus bridle/tail Pony play.

We see edging and tender aftercare, as well as heartfelt moments.

It's a tough romance, but fulfilling, with fantastic characters overcoming obstacles, and the recurring folks are a treat. Next up are Leo and Wren.

Sexy play and true feelings. ENJOY !

There’s something really beautiful about this relationship between Sean and Blake. Sean is desperate for everything that Blake is offering; control, care, nurturing, trust and the promise that if he’ll just let go and ‘be’, Blake will catch him. But Sean’s finding this hard, really hard; he’s wrestling with the fact that he’s not good enough and not wanting to be tied down (he loves the literal part here though!). He’s happy with the odd scene at Thrust, just hitting it and quitting it, but then he sees what roommate Avery has with his partner Graham and starts to wonder; could he have something like that? is he worthy? Bust it’s hard to let go and sticking with his bratty behaviour and walling his feelings off is what he knows, its safe right? What follows is the push and pull between Sean and Blake. Blake being so patient and handling Sean almost like a skittish colt (see the pony play link here 😊), he show’s him that control and discipline are exactly what he needs and that in reality, it’ Sean that will hold all the control here, not Blake. Little by little, Sean begins to lose the fear and through some hot scenes with Blake, begins to trust and realise that Blake may be his salvation.

I enjoyed this great addition to the series and it was good to check in with Graham and Avery from Father of the Groom too.

HOLY CRACKERS! This book is just OMG. Sean, you want to hug him and love him and his crazy scattered brain and heart and then you want to slap him. His past has clouded how he should see life and what he wants out of it. His heart is blocked off and he won't let anyone near it.
Then we have:
Blake, oh so dreamy and sweet with a touch of strong Dom in him. Oh, a girl could dream about him all night long.
Blake wants to break down Sean's wall, but will he be able to be patient enough to get thru to Sean.
Can Blake make Sean see there is so much more to life than the crazy life he has had so far?
These two together made my kindle screen melt. This book is a must-have.
Don't even get me started on the next book coming out. I am salivating already. Just block of a free night for this gem because once you start this book you won't be able to stop.

Mmm ok... Ho appena finito il libro e... Meh. Per me... È NI! Consigliato solo agli amanti dei libri erotici e super sensuali (con tanto di link, Bdsm e Pony play) e a chi è fan della serie e non vuole perdersi neanche un dettaglio.

When does play become more, a facet of a happy life? And how much would you be willing to change to make it permanent? Sean is a little like a duck. Feet furiously moving this way and that to stay afloat and facing the right direction. When he gets a chance to play with a seriously hot SEAL at the club he occasionally enjoys it comes with the possibility of more strings than he's comfortable with. His customary sass combines with his nervous pride and he ends up ruining a chance with the man that just might be his best partner. But second chances happen, even for silly boys with more snark than sense. Along the way he'll have to decide if those strings are the kind that strangle and chafe to the point of suffocation or if they guide and comfort all the way to stability and happiness.

I like that this story jumps right into Sean and Blake's scene. When we left Avery and Graham in After the Weekend we got a glimpse into Sean's situation and then here we learn very quickly just how complicated Sean has made things. There's a struggle for Sean to adult, or at least he thinks so. He's got the basics down, but it's the discipline he lacks and we don't learn the reason until well into this story. I would have liked for that to feel more conquered by the end. We get a brief explanation for his actions but aside from his "epiphany of acceptance" near the end, it's not exactly resolved.

Now, it's not that I wanted more conflict or angst. What I was hoping for was more like a coming-to-terms with his past, maybe a visit with the foundation of his scatter-brained behaviors...a true settling of circumstances, feelings, and decisions.

With Sean every step along the way (well, more like every step Sean allowed) was Blake. Large, tough, commanding, tender, sweet, seriously hot. From the very beginning it was Blake that saw more for Sean and for them together. He's the ideal partner for everything that Sean is. That he didn't want to tame him but rather give him confidence, discipline, and freedom, was the best. So much tenderness framing every moment of punishment and pleasure. Through Sean's observations and a few basic facts we come to know Blake as an individual. But I have to say that I felt quite let down that I didn't get to know him better. He's someone I could completely fall in love with but with so little about him I'm just left feeling approving rather than enamored.

Things are coming together for this little group of awesome. Avery and Graham are sickeningly in love and happy, Sean and Blake are starting their own parallel journey, and now we've gotten some excellent glimpses into the drama and angst surrounding Wren and Leo. The series name, Love and Care, is really apt for these couples. It's not just about the kink, BDSM, or physical passions they share. It's more about tools used in passion to guide and support life outside the bedroom. I really enjoy this series and if I had any doubts that this follow-up would be a smooth addition, they've been cleanly wiped away. Sean and Blake are both entertaining together as well as interesting as individuals. Such a lovely, quick read full of heart and seriously hot steam.

After reading books one and two of this series, I wanted Sean's story so bad! I knew that he was going to be a little bratty and I sort of adore bratty characters. And I will say that he definitely did not disappoint.

I appreciated the author giving us a little bit of the background of Sean and Blake. In book two of this series, we see the aftermath of those initial interactions between the two of them so I was happy to really see how everything went down. This really just reinforced the fact that Sean is bratty af and Blake is pretty dang patient. Even though they were so opposite, they worked perfectly for each other. Once Blake starts to break down Seans sass walls, there is a lot of character growth. It was nice to see him open up to Blake at the end. Though I did feel that sometimes the dialogue was much more open and honest than I expected from the characters.

I loved getting the little teaser of a potential Wren and Leo story and I cannot wait!

*arc received in exchange for an honest review*

This was completely different to my usual read. Pony play isn’t a kink I’ve ever read or one I’ve ever thought about reading but Violet wrote a really realistic scene and story between two men and their chemistry was HOT! It was an addictive read that I couldn’t put down once I started reading it. I can’t wait for book four!

i hate this relationship with a firing passion

here are some of my thoughts while reading this:
-
this makes me so angry. this is so not consensual play, this is fucking blackmail
-
this is pissing me off too much
if you don't like someone - you don't engage with them. what you DON'T do is break them into someone you want them to be, you asshole!!!
-
fuck this shit. this is brainwashing. it just is

"hey sean, i'm gonna do this, cause you need this, i know you do, cause i am a such a smart guy"

no, you fucking don't!

and so on and so on
i hate this so much you can't even imagine

I've loved this series and was eager to read about Sean and Blake....Sean is quite a handful for Blake and needed a firm hand....His friendship with Avery helped him along I think to see that he needed what Blake gave him....It's really easy read but with a lot of kink including Pony Play which I loved...Blake never pushed him too far and I can't wait for the next one x

PLEASE READ FIRST MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings (thanks to amazon I had to change it again and 'upgrade' it a little bit.):

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like 'Liberty' from Seth Kann ing,
'Save that he kids' series from EM Leya or
'Jesse's Smile' from Angelique Jurd), it's like
an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books) it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times (most romances where you can enjoy
for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, but
not really an often reread book

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok) It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

I hope, the next book will be Leo and Wren!!

If you like Silvia Violet's Father Of The Groom and After The Weekend, don't miss out on Book three in this Love and Care series, Demanding Discipline.

We got to know Sean in the previous books, and now we get to watch him get his happy ending. Sean's not a submissive, but he's extremely intrigued by the thought of being dominated in bed. They experiment with some pony play, which is actually quite fun to read, and some other BDSM games. The scenes are hot, as I've come to expect from Silvia Violet, who is well accomplished in writing these kinds of kink.

Sean and Blake definitely will have obstacles, but in the end, they are just perfect together. I love this couple, as Blake helps Sean give into his desires and fears to learn submission and acceptance. It is wonderfully written and will leave you romantically fulfilled. And Sean is such a lovable character! I love seeing him interacting with his former roomie again.

Silvia Violet's Love and Care series is just amazing, as the stories are hot, romantic, steamy and memorable. Do not miss out on the newest in the series, Demanding Discipline.

4 stars. I’m so glad Sean got a book. He’s a interesting character and I was curious about his story after the second book.

I loved Sean and Blake’s relationship. It was a lot more about personal growth especially from Sean. He’s very skittish and hides behind a bratty attitude and while he certainly never loses his brattiness, he does grow and develop really well throughout the book. Blake is so patient and kind with Sean and I loved how much from the very beginning he just wanted the absolute best for him. The kink with their relationship is one I am not familiar with at all so it was very interesting to read about to say the least. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it every single time but Silvia Violet is a fantastic smut writer. She knows her smut and she does it well.

I love this series and I hope that there are going to be more books coming because I will gladly keep reading them.

Each book in this series just seems to get hotter. Sean is bratty, indecisive, and doesn’t take care of himself well. He’s also anti-relationship and doesn’t do repeats. Oh, and he likes to be punished and a bit humiliated too. What he needs is a Daddy to pull his life together - but he can’t bring himself to admit it.

Meet Blake, a former SEAL turned security consultant. He just happens to specialize in taking on bratty subs and deep down all he’s ever wanted is to be someone’s Daddy.

Sean meets Blake at a club and they have an instant connection, but Sean just can’t let go and be what Blake wants and Sean needs. At the same time, Blake won’t let himself give up on Sean because he knows it’s what Sean wants and needs; and what he wants too.

This is the third book in the series and while it could be read as a stand-alone, you wouldn’t want to miss the previous books.

I liked the book, it's really more a 3.5, but I preferred Avery and Graham.
My problem is mostly, that it felt like it veered off more into erotica than romance, because the characters they quite remote. I don't really know anything about Sean. I mean, the blurb says he keeps changing careers, but I couldn't say what he's actually doing right now. I don't think it is mentioned at all. Nor did it mention any of either of their hobbies or things like that. We get to know their sexual preferences and some hangups, because the relationship needs some kind of stumbling block, but I really prefer characters to be fleshed out a bit more than that.
Now, the sex scenes are hot and creative and really good, like in most of her books, and I did like how they worked through their problems, but the book just did not really get me invested in the characters.

Sean's brash attitude and self-sabotaging habits keep him at a distance from meaningful connections, leaving his life in disarray. Despite his attempts to improve, he struggles to break free from old patterns. Enter Blake, a disciplined ex-Navy SEAL who sees through Sean's barriers and is determined to help him find structure and stability. Through unconventional methods and emotional insight, Blake recognizes Sean's deeper vulnerabilities and offers him both discipline and the nurturing love he craves. Their journey becomes one of transformation and trust.

I loved this story with the two who were drawn together but Drake needed to be patient waiting for Sean to be open enough to trust him. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s and Daddy/boy dynamic.

This is my favorite book in the Love And Care series so far. I loved Sean from the previous books and I am so happy he gets his own story. Blake is able to give Sean exactly what he needs even though Sean is not quite sure what that is. They have a chance to be amazing together but Sean has to stop running away and face his fears. Blake is patient, caring, loving and a strong Dom. His ability to see through Sean's bratty behavior to the sweet and needy person he really is gives him hope that they can have a real relationship beyond the kinky sex that they both enjoy. I like the progression of their relationship, the sex is smoking hot and the secondary characters are great. I look forward to reading the next book in this entertaining series.

This is a great addition to the Love and Care series. Sean does everything he can to avoid falling in love, which makes his interactions with Blake pretty difficult at times. Blake is strong and loving, and he wants to take care of Sean and make him feel more secure in their growing relationship. There are some painful moments in between the incredibly sexy times, but I never lost faith in these two. Avery and Graham are around, which makes me happy. And the hints about the next couple to be featured in the series makes me greedy to have their book right away. This is such a terrific, emotional, sexy story. Silvia Violet always provides a satisfying ending, and I love that it is more kinky than romantic here, but still just wonderful!

Ok...this is a book that made me rethink porn lol... I had read about pony play in the Beauty series by Anne Rice Once Upon A Time. Honestly, I thought it was more of a plot device than an actual kink...omg I was so wrong, & obviously sheltered in regards to what people get up too behind closed doors ( & out in the open lol) Thank you Google Images for that informational side trip.

That out of the way, the story felt a little sideways for me. Like any novel that explores extreme physical responses, I often wonder that if the novel happened in real life, would the MCs have fell in love so quickly. Does the need for pain or intense sexual satisfaction give a person an erroneous feeling of falling in love?

I liked the story overall..MCs made me want to root for that HEA
