This beautiful coffee table style book pulls together stunning photos and art depicting the legendary musician, along with vignette texts covering everything from Hendrix's childhood and early forays into music, to his significance with the army in Vietnam, to a lengthy exploration of his astrological birth chart, to his sexual imagery, and other topics, even including a cyberpunk short story based on his works! Scattered throughout are quotes from admirers such as Miles Davis and Neil Young, and from the man himself, offering glimpses of his complex persona, and the burden he must have felt bringing his cosmic music to the world, unleashing lifetimes of creativity in a few years. This book succeeds in conveying both the heroic mythos and human tragedy of Jimi Hendrix.
