A love that has endured long absences, and now with her husband home from Afghanistan, she is having a hard time with his absence again, he is now home but with a brain injury.
Will he be able to find his way back, or will Tiffany have to adapt to a new husband? Or worse case they will each have to go their own ways.
All is possible with faith in God, and these two need Him in their lives, and just when you think things will change life continues to throw curve balls.
You will never see what happens here in the end, but with Faith all is possible.

Author Melissa Wardell has the knack of drawing in her readers right from the beginning, and this book is no different. It became a page turner immediately.
Wardell isn’t afraid of writing about tough subjects and she continues in that vein with I Know the Plans. Injuries while serving in Afghanistan. A marriage that is struggling. Complex characters who are questioning God. This story can get intense at times, but in all the right places. And it’s not all intensity. Just like any family, there are moments of fun.
If you want a book that will show God’s plan; His love for us, then I highly recommend this one!

This is a beautiful but somewhat tragic story. So very true for many people.

I could feel the love and support they had from their family and friends. I was hoping with every page I turned, hoping for the best, hoping for healing. This book felt like a memoir of sorts like I was a fly on the wall of their lives.
I loved all the characters and their complexities.
Melissa Wardwell has written a marvelous family drama. There are sweet, comedic moments too, just like real life. This is part of a series but it stands alone very well.

I was given this book to review and enjoyed every page of the story. Melissa Wardwell is skilled at hooking her readers and keeping their interest with engaging storylines, delightful characters, and enough suspense to keep them turning pages. In addition to crafting a great story, Wardwell also interposed timely issues and allows the characters to grapple with them in light of faith and trust in God and each other. It is obvious that much research went into developing this novel. Although it is part of a series worth reading, it can stand alone.

This is a beautiful story filled with dedication, love, loss, forgiveness, trust and faith. I cried while reading this one. God has a plan for each of us and even if we don't know His plan, we can be comforted by knowing He loves us forever. Excellent story. I received a copy of this book from the author. Have you ever had a book that you were just dying to read? I mean, you were counting down the days until it released so you could soak up every word, visit a place you love, and read an author you adore? I have been waiting for I Know The Plans for a long time. Pretty much since I started the series. Wardwell is such a wonderful writer that it hurts me when there’s a big length of time between books. But hey, I know the writers life is totally chaotic, and sometimes the characters don’t speak to authors as quickly as we’d like.
This heartwarming story is sure to make you weep at times. Jump for joy at times. And hold your breath at times. It is full of raw emotion, turmoil, and realizing the importance of relying on God for what’s next, to see what plans He has for us, instead of creating out own plans. Wardwell brings a truth in this book that many of us try to ignore – our soldiers may be heroes, but inside many of them are struggling in different ways. I cannot imagine how many families face the same harsh reality that Brad and Tiffany did. Some of them probably get through just, but I’m willing to bet that many don’t. I appreciate Wardwell bringing this to mind. It makes you a little more empathetic about all our soldiers and their family have to endure.
Wardwell fans will devour this book. I think it is her best work yet! And although I know it’ll be some time before the next novel hits the shelves, I know it’ll be worth it because of the time and energy Wardwell puts into each and every word. An emotionally charged novel of faith and love. These two characters have love and faith but the trauma of war is brought back home with Brad. He faced many dark demons and terrors while in Afghanistan and now has to learn how to be a civilian again. Tiffany just wants to be there and yet she doesn’t know how or if she can for Brad. I loved the realism of these two characters, there wasn’t a moment I couldn’t envision this being a reality for many military couples and I felt my faith grow between these two as they learned to navigate the next chapter in their lives.
Melissa Wardwell has written a book that is inspiring and hopeful. Her tale of war, faith, and the hardships of marriage will resonate with many readers. Readers seeking a thoughtful well-written tale of love will not have to look past this book.

I Know the Plans was a very emotional and inspirational read. The characters had lots of depth and before the story ended, I felt as though I actually knew them.
I Know the Plans is a book of struggle, immense faith, forgiveness and healing. Brad, missing in the war finally returns home injured and with loss of his memory. His wife, Tiffany, afraid she had lost him, has a new anxiety. How to be a wife again to someone who doesn't even remember her?
The Christian aspects of the story gave me inspiration and a sense of peace. I loved the story and the ending wrapped up everything, but gave me a sense that more is coming. Highly recommended.

It’s not foreign for us to hear of soldiers being sent overseas but do we take the time to think of them as individuals? As men and women with lives of their own and families to feed? Do we notice the sacrifices they have to make when they leave home? Do we think of the after-effects of when they return home? Can you imagine your spouse being sent overseas, only to come home severely injured and no longer knowing you who are? I can’t even fathom it, but this story gives a glimpse.
I don’t know what it’s like personally to have a close/immediate family member sent overseas, but I know people that have. In several situations I’ve heard that it has resulted in (or come close to resulting in), a failed marriage–and that’s without extensive injury! I don’t think we realize just what the cost is for soldiers who go to fight for our country’s freedom and the freedom of others. When Brad makes it home from the war, it’s directly to a hospital in the ICU. He doesn’t even remember his own wife or others in his life. The process is painstakingly slow for him to remember even tiny smidgens of what his life used to be. It’s painful to not to be remembered, and it’s painful not to remember. This was a very humbling story to read.
I Know the Plans is the third book in the Promises From Above series but it’s the first one I read. While I was able to make it through, I would suggest reading the other books first since there were other characters who played parts in this story that I felt a bit lost not understanding their whole story.
This was truly a humbling story to read and one that I would highly recommend. It helps to understand the life of soldiers and their families and exactly how much they give up to fight in war. While not every experience is the same, it’s what each soldier walks into knowing it as a possibility. It produces a thankfulness for the men and women who choose to serve.

I Know the Plans challenges the reader to consider the reactions and choices we make on life’s journey. Plans change as circumstances and events creep in silently or with a bang.
This story involves a married couple who have decisions to render that will change their lives no matter what choice they make. Isn’t that the way in our lives? We cannot avoid a decision, but the choice can have a devastating outcome or a joyous resolution. As in Melissa’s novel, the challenges and paths ring with the truth that God knows the plans He has for each of us.
I appreciate the truths the author develops as harsh reality descends on her characters. Brad and Tiffany are vibrant, hurting individuals who have choices to make, none of which are part of their original plans. I enjoyed connecting with these real-life characters.

This book is filled with compassion and God's love. I believe this is the author's best book to date. She addresses some tough issues like infertility and PTSD. I loved getting to know Tiffany and Brad. They seemed to have a good life but things quickly change when they deal with a devastating loss. My heart hurt as I read the pain they went through. There are so many people that suffer from infertility and miscarriages. The author does an excellent job of walking us through the lives of one couple who face heartbreak that no couple wants to go through.
I loved that Brad was in the service and how dedicated he was to being a part of protecting our country. He has been away for awhile and there is a time that Tiffany wonders if she will ever see her husband again. I don't want to tell the whole story but I will say that Tiffany and Brad will face one of their most difficult trials when he comes home. I live with PTSD and everyday is a challenge for me and my family. Like me, Brad has flashbacks that consume him at times. What happens when Brad comes home with no memory of who he was? Tiffany cries for the husband she used to know.
When I read this part in the story as Tiffany is broken before God, I cried for her pain and hurt to go away. She cries out to God saying, " What have I done to deserve this? Why have you taken everything I dreamed of from me? God, I don't understand." This is one of the best scenes in the story. Tiffany has come to a point where she can't go on. I have been there. I have blamed God for the suffering I have and still do go through. The author reminds us through beautiful words that God does have a plan for our lives. We can't see the other side of pain, but God is right there. I loved every word written in this book. I'm thankful that I read this story that showed me how much I have slipped away from God. I think I became so wrapped up in my own little world, I forgot to invite God back in.
I won't say how the story ends because readers need to experience this moving story on their own. Tiffany and Brad could be anyone of us and they are easy to identify with. Marriage is not always easy, but as long as you communicate with each other pray together and allow God to be part of your marriage, you can get through anything.

I Know The Plans by Melissa Wardwell is the most delightful Christian novel that will warm your heart and ignite your soul. It is the third book in the Promises From Above series but can be read as a stand-alone.
The novel is such a wonderful read about the faithfulness of God and how we can trust His plan for our lives. "God knew what He was doing, even if she didn't." Sometimes life makes no sense even with God, we just have to trust that He is in control in spite of what our eyes tell us.
Life can be hard. We wonder if God cares or sees us. "Praying was the last thing on her mind. She wasn't sure God even heard her prayers." God hears every prayer and "God will give you the strength you need." We need to cling on to God and trust that He will give us just enough light to see the next step. We do not need to see the whole staircase, we need to trust that God will guide us.
The novel deals with brokenness. We have an Afghan veteran with PTSD and memory loss and there is a character who suffers infertility problems and miscarriages. Both are broken in different ways. Both can trust God in their brokenness. She "cried out to the God she knew was there but couldn't feel." We empathise with the suffering of both characters. The reader is reminded that even though we may forget who others are, God never forgets who we are. We are always known by God.
God is the God of restoration. He makes all things new. He will restore the years the locusts have taken.
Faith is important. Faith keeps us going when all seems bleak. Our faith in hard times can inspire others.
Melissa Wardwell always writes such wonderful heart warming tales that both entertain and show the faithfulness of God. Grab I know The Plans today.

Two things really drew me to this book:
I had a lot of plans before I met and married my husband that changed once we became a couple.
My husband currently is serving active-duty in the Army Reserves and we are surrounded by friends and family who have served or are serving.
So I was really interested in reading this book by Melissa Wardwell. I found the characters to be realistic, the military aspects to fit, and the storyline compelling. Truly, this book is one worth reading. As a military spouse, I know that nothing is guaranteed and every time my husband goes somewhere anything could happen. Although we have not personally lived with overseas deployments many family members and friends have. It takes a special type of person to be a military spouse, and Melissa Wardwell does an excellent job of capturing those characteristics with Tiffany.
Moreover, the family members and friends that surround Tiffany and Brad add many dimensions and layers to this story. The way that Tiffany and Brad deal first with his injuries and subsequent amnesia followed by the way they deal with Tiffany’s own health issues drew me deeper into the story. I have a hard time putting this book down.
I also loved the way the book ended, rather than just leaving the readers hanging Melissa Wardwell does a masterful job of wrapping up the book. I can not wait to read more books by this author. So check it out for yourself.

My Thoughts: This book was very insightful. This is a book about learning to lean on and to trust in God. We should not try to second guess why we need to go through some trials in life, but learn to grow through them.
The author has done a tremendous amount of research for this book. I am the wife of a combat veteran and right away I could see that Brad was dealing with PTSD on top of his other injuries. I was encouraged by Tiffany`s love and the care and treatment of Brad.
This was a wonderful and encouraging book to read. I enjoyed this book from the beginning right through to the end.

My Review
"I Know the Plans"by Melissa Wardwell is the third book in the "Promises from Above" series. It is also my favorite of the three. It can read as a standalone and enjoyed but I recommend reading all three just to get the background info on the other characters in the series.
These books are all clean love stories but they are more than just cute romance novels. They are about how God makes beauty from ashes and keeps his promises. I really believe this series has the appropriate title.
"I Know the Plans" is a heart breaking novel at first with a soldier returning home injured from his latest tour in Afghanistan and not the same man as when he left and his wife has dreams that will never be realized in the way she planned but God's will keep His plans. I am glad that the book ended on a happy theme. This book could have happen and does happen to many couples, so once again, I say, just like in another review I wrote for another author, there needs to be a new genre for books called "RealFiction".

This is the first full-length novel I have read from Melissa Wardwell and it was enjoyable. It is book 3 in the Promises from Above series and reading the books in order would have helped me keep the multiple secondary characters in their proper places while still enjoying Brad and Tiffany’s story.
Brad has just returned from Afghanistan after suffering head injury and being held a prisoner for a couple of months. His head injury prevents him from remembering his past, though he is still the thoughtful, considerate, loyal, faithful, passionate man he was before losing his memory. Tiffany has been married almost ten years to her soldier but has spent more time apart than together as a couple. She’s strong, sweet, loving, and patient. Both Brad and Tiffany go through a myriad of emotions as each deal with Brad’s memory loss and Tiffany’s medical issue and the emotional tension is taut and palpable. Quite a few real and sensitive topics like infertility and PTSD are addressed through the characters. The gift of grace, forgiveness and second chances was portrayed well in the story.

I Know the Plans by author Melissa Wardwell is an emotionally charged contemporary Christian novel in her Promises from Above Series. It is the story of married couple Tiffany and Brad.
Author Wardwell has a nice easy style of writing. Her book was well written, researched, organized and planned. She has a way of transferring emotions and feelings from her pages straight into readers.
I found the characters to be believable. They were realistic and well developed. Some were more like friends than others to me. Their conversation was easy and flowed smoothly.
Situations were nail-biting and heart-breaking. This was not a relaxed read for me. There were a lot of tense moments. However, it was rather slow at the beginning before really grabbing my attention. There are life lessons to learn and inspiration in this book.
It gets a recommendation and 4 out of 5 star rating. A copy was provided from Celebrate Lit but I was under no obligation to write a review. These are my own honest opinions.

I know the plans
I have really enjoyed this series. If I had time to reread any books this series would definitely be worth reading again. Even though this book can be read as a stand alone you will want to read the whole series. The story of Brad’s in this book was familiar to Ryan’s in What God brings together. This allowed Ryan to help Brad a lot. I loved having the characters from the other books in this one also. The characters were so inspiring, so real, I felt so close to them. I loved the verses from the Bible in the books.
Tiffany and Brad have been married for almost 10 years, he is in the service so had to be gone a lot. I loved how strong Tiffany was and so patient. Having patience is very important in life. I love the title of the book and how it is woven into the story. Their nieces and nephews bring so much to the story. Only one thing I didn’t like about the book was that it had to end.

This story opened the window on a different scenario than most love stories. Tiffany has been keeping things going while her husband, Brad, serves in Afghanistan. We observe their personal struggles as he comes home injured in body and mind. How can they make their marriage work and rekindle their strong love? Or is that even possible? A workman she hired tries to interfere and come between the couple. Other family drama ramps up the tension. This powerful dramatic story feels too real. I was glad to see the main characters turned to the Lord for assistance. You can’t help but root for them and hope there will be a happy ending. This may be third in a series, but it strongly stands alone. I have not read the preceding novels but didn’t feel like I was missing out on any info or insights. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. This book is a relevant book about marriage. It is good to read a fiction novel that deals with some of the hard issues in life.
Tiff and Brad have had a good (or great) marriage. Then he's assigned overseas. Then she receives word of his injury...and nothing. She has no idea where he is for several months. When Brad finally comes home, he is not the same man she married.
Where is God in all of this?! Is it possible to regain the marriage they had at one time?

Love restored
An amazing story of a love that once was and shall be again. It is hard when your husband is deployed being alone, but nothing prepares you for when he does come home injured and with no memory of you or anyone else. Would they be able to get back what they once had? Would he ever be able to remember their life together? Was it worth waiting to find out? Would her her faith and the faith and hope of others help them get through this? This story with bring out so much emotion as you go through this journey with this wonderful couple as they rediscover each other and their life together and all those family and friends around them. I highly recommend this book along with the others in this series from this outstanding author.

This is a lovely addition to this series. Based on one of my favorite scripture verses, this book was a nice read. This book focuses on Brad's return from Afganastain, and some of the issues that come from that. Personally, I have known several of our guys who have come back from a war, and it does indeed change them. I appreciate this author's books for not shying away from realism. Faith and trust are themes in this story. I'm looking forward to more books from this author.

This is the third book in the "Promises From Above" series. I think you would get a fuller experience if you read the other two books first. You get quite a bit of overlap with the characters from the first books and it would be best to "meet" them in their own story. I found the story to flow well and it had a nice faith element that wound through it. I liked Brad and Tiffany and cheered with them in the highs and cried with them in the lows. I look forward to reading more books from Melissa Wardwell.

A truly touching and highly enjoyable novel! I couldn’t put it down and was deeply moved by this well-written, carefully researched, and poignant narrative. Here is a story that got right to my heart with believable characters in a very special setting. From an author who is a favorite of mine, this specific story showcases her skill and heart. Her decision to donate a percentage of her book sales to a very noble cause further demonstrates her compassion and thoughtfulness. I highly recommend I Know the Plans. Enjoy!

I was hesitant to read this book because I liked the couple in previous books and knew that the current story is about changes, distance, and possibly a separation.
I'm glad I gave it a chance to get to know these wonderful characters and their journey over the years! Tiffany and Brad really have a special connection from the beginning of their relationship and have gone through many sad situations, but always choosing each other.
Regarding the writing, it was engaging, moving, and realistic. It's very difficult to find books, Christian or not, with writing this dedicated to them.
Despite my reluctance, I believe this is the best book in the series.

This book showed what it could be like to go through hell and back. Both Tiffany and Brad have gone through a lot during their 20 years of marriage. They have gone through miscarriages and Brad being deployed. Brad is injured and gets amnesia. Tiffany has to try to be ok with someone who can’t remember her. This would be almost impossible to get through. I enjoyed how the author got the characters through all of their problems. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

An honest look at being around family when your husband is oversea, of what she is feeling. Now there is a new baby, and she doesn’t have any, and when someone ask, her reply was thick with emotion, of him being gone a lot. Now missing worried if an when he will come home. She didn’t want him to suffer, and he had when he does come back. It took a lot of strength to rebuild a life and a marriage. With God it made it possible. Very well done.
