This is book 6 in a 10 book series. It is based on the viewpoint of Claire Rollins and mysteries that come her way and she helps solve the mysteries by paying attention to her strong intuition. Her intuition is so rich that it is considered paranormal by her best friend, Nicole, her friend and coworker Robby, and her psychic and tarot card reading friend Tessa.

In this read, College age girl Jade goes missing one night shortly after being seen at a bonfire. Jade’s mother, Bonnie requests the help from Claire of finding her daughter. Unfortunately Claire has the feeling immediately that she is looking for a body and a killer, rather than a living Jade.

Interview after interview Claire feels she isn’t even close to solving this case until she uses her intuition and is given a very critical clue. Eventually and not shortly after that clue, the case is solved. Things don’t always go according to how you want them and this one was a sad story, but at least the last couple of pages were happy ones.

Next is the 7th book in this 10 book series - When Fortune Knocks.
I’ve read 2 of J.A. Whiting’s other series and I’m really hoping that at least one of the characters are integrated into this series.

EDITING, EDITING, EDITING?!

Where is it??
The editing, spell checking, grammar, word usage gets worse with each "" book" now, those these are really booklets. I enjoy the stories, however for me, and I am sure many others the lack of proper editing destroys the flow of the read!! Laziness, sloppiness, indoctrination instead of education, who knows? This author needs to do a better job of self editing!

If the problem, (AND, I believe it is the problem) is indoctrination instead of education, all you authors need to find some good teachers and actually learn the English language, grammar, spelling, word usage, sentence structure, pronouns from nouns, verbs from adverbs, what a dangling participle is etc., since you make your money from the power of words and ignorance of the language you use, laziness, sloppiness, and perpetuating said ignorance is just not acceptable! Ignorance and the perpetuance of it is the bane of what is happening to our country AND it's ruination.

Having said that, the series and characters are enjoyable. Perhaps, though, you could have them find the victim alive once in a while.

The green eyed monster.

Another great read in the series. A great plot - okay I did guess the culprit (there really were too many clues pointing to them) - although the paranormal angle in this one seemed to have lessened compared to the rest of the series.
A missing college student and a distraught mother. When she is asked to help search and find the missing young woman, she readily agrees. Who is telling the truth? Will they find the missing girl or will they retrieve her dead body? The more questions she asks the more she feels that the young woman is dead. Can they find the guilty person and bring them to justice. Although the plot was good, the characters just felt slightly off kilter.

Feel Good Books

I really enjoy the Claire Rollins stories. They are not really dark and violent like some other murder mysteries are. Most of the time I can figure out who the killer is by the end but not always why. The main character is a very loving, caring person and even though death is involved, Claire does everything she can to help the people around her. There's a happy ever after ending feel for the central characters in each book.

I love this series!

J. A. Whiting is one of my favorite authors of cozy mysteries. She sets a good pace and her characters are easy to get to know. In this book, Clair doesn't seem to receive the kind of help she was looking for and had to keep pressing forward to find the killer. I simply love that solving mysteries even in the cozy mysteries genre are not cut and dried and easy to solve.

I have LOVED this series from the beginning. But, this one kinda dragged in the middle….continual questioning of “suspects” over and over. Almost gave up on it….but stuck it out and glad I did. J A Whiting is one of my favorite authors….this series has 2 of the cutest corgis, blossoming romances, CHOCOLATE!, Evil doers doing evil deeds, and mysteries to solve. Looking forward to the next one too.

This was a very sad story of a young woman gone missing. I really enjoyed this book, the culprit is not obvious til the end, and I was really immersed in all the twists and turns.

Missing girl

Bonnie's goes to Claire to ask for help in finding her missing daughter. Claire and Nicole join the group searching for the girl. Most of the friends have known each other for years, went to school together and still live in the same town still. This one seems to stump Claire. The new addition to the chocolate shop. Good story.

Satisfying

Even with a murder, the comradery and genuine caring community is heartwarming. Claire has special gifts and jumps feet first into interrogations. Is she in danger too?

Great series............

I'm trying to keep up on the series of stories with Ms Claire and her fellow workers and friends. The author does a wonderful job of telling her mysteries and romances, many other different series and stand alone stories are equally well told.

Enjoyable, if a touch messy

Not the strongest of the series, but still a solid read. Story was a little bit muddy, all things considered, and not a lot of secondary character involvement for some of the previous regulars. Kind of an afterthought.

Excellent.

I love the main characters. This was really nail biting good. Life is scary enough without all the day to day violence. I know murders occur but I pray I never witness one. Thank you. Stay well and please keep writing.

I usually like this series, but this one felt forced and abrupt. The plot just grated on me. Claire’s constant stream of questions was annoying. Why would anyone bother to answer some random woman’s litany of questions? Contrived.

Another well done story

As Claire and Ian become closer, they still ignore the Corgis reactions to things said and therefore miss what the dogs have picked up both literally and figuratively. Maybe some day :)
