Beulah "Cookie" Simmons didn't expect to spend the next two weeks taking care of her Aunt Addie. Especially if it meant spending time in the Thousand Year Woods which is known for being creepy. But of course, when it comes to her mother, Maven Simmons, Cookie and James are forced to do it. Okay help her aunt for a couple of weeks. Easy enough, right? Wrong. Cookie should know that when Mama is around, a mystery will happen. Now skeletons, murder, and mysteries are all happening around them and it is up to Mama and Cookie to solve them before it is too late.
Noella Lee is a Southern Californian author who loves to write cozy mysteries with lots of laughs, family, and love. Best known for her Mama and Cookie Mystery series and Roger Tillman Solving Agency series, she never knows where her stories are going to take her and enjoys each unique character. Every story is a wild adventure that she is sure you'll enjoy, too!
Another terrific plot. Poignant and touching. Plus the proofing errors are nearly all gone. When her mother tells her that she and James are going to stay with the elderly aunts, she desperately doesn't want to go. They only had a bathroom put in a year ago and have no TV or WiFi. However there protests are overruled and they have to make the best of it. There are two elderly neighbours and when they go to find out what they need front town, they find one dead from a shotgun wound. Now they call her mother and the police (bringing her favourite detective to her). Their investigation leads them to land deals, oil, greed and a mass grave site. Was the death linked to the proposed land deal? Who are the people buried in the woods?
Funniest mom and daughter detective team ever. It's nothing for Bea, and Mother Maven to stumble up on a mystery, no matter where they go. Need a good belly laugh, read "A Mama and Cookie Mystery Series". These books will have you laughing out loud and their antics and mystery solving techniques. I hope to read more of these two crime solvers.
