A hilarious relationship between a black bellied doctor and wise cracking insurance sales lady. Thee isn't much to set this apart from other C-novels but the banter between the two can really crack you up. Give it a chance if you're done with all Mao Bei Fao Bei and Gu Man books but do not expect a plot and characters as developed as theirs. A fun book to pass time with.

This book reads like one of 顾漫 - Gu Man’s books.
A naïve, oblivious heroine? Check.
A rich, handsome, douchey love interest? Check.
Humour? Double check.
Like 顾漫, too, is the fact that the side-characters (and, indeed, the main characters to some extent), are kind of one-dimensional. The thing is, though, 顾漫 writes in 顾漫’s style better than she, 明月听风, does. Flattery though imitation may be, it can only ever be an ersatz version of顾漫’s work.
Even after just finishing the book, if you wanted me to summarise the story, all I could say is: a girl meets a guy, stuff happens, and then they fall in love. It is neither original nor any kind of landmark of the Chinese contemporary romance genre.
Did I have a good time? Yes. Did I laugh when I read this? Yes. But, would I recommend it to you? No. At least, not unless you, like me, are desperate for Chinese fluff – you’ve read all the famous stuff, and now you’re just grasping at any books that look like they may be vaguely entertaining. After all, you’re reading it because it’s Chinese, and not because you’re hopelessly intrigued by its premise, right?

“怎么没有。”孟古弯着嘴角，“追求未果耍脾气翻脸的我见多了，到你这就变成搞笑喜剧。遇到打击伤心难过我每天都能看到，就你像个谐星。还有什么花园式餐厅的甜蜜晚餐，我猜了很久你能变出什么花招来，好奇得不得了，结果这么有格调的事情能被你演绎得这么俗气没气氛，实在是太不容易了。陈若雨，其实你真是个人才。”
陈若雨惊讶得张大嘴，用夸奖的方式不动声色把人羞辱了，他才是个人才吧。
“孟医生，有件事我一定要拜托你。”
他动了动眉头，“什么事？”
“如果有天不幸我病倒住院需要手术，恳求孟医生一定不要亲自动手。”
“干嘛，怕我公报私仇？”
“不，我怕孟医生在手术台上回想起我那幽默动人的往事，哈哈大笑，一不小心刀子一歪。动手术等着救命的病人孟医生一定看得多了，可我不想变成孟医生见过的唯一一个被医生在手术台上戳死的。”
Humour? Double check.
孟古又沉默了，过了一会说：“你们两个在A市工作的人，跑回C市相亲，然后回A市谈恋爱，然后再回C市成家立业？这种事究竟是怎么发生的？”

Chapters: 83 + 2 epilogues
It was an alright read but I got bored with the verbal ping pong of the main characters to be honest. And oh, I find the ML to be very annoying in the first parts of the book and the FL is too - - - I can't explain it.
Plus, I also shipped the ML to the FL's flirty friend to be honest hahaha. I wish there's a fanfic of Meng Gu and Sisi :-p
Other readers liked it very much and found the book funny. But for me...nahh.

I both loved and hated this book. The author did a great job making us feel Chen Ruo Yu's emotions and boy were they a roller coaster. This wasn't a sugary sweet romance but it delved into misunderstandings, getting along despite different personalities and backgrounds. I feel like I should have read "Hey, Don't Act Unruly!" first though.

Loved it! I would highly recommend it. Short and sweet, perfectly balanced Josei novel where the female lead is an average girl and the male lead is a famous doctor. Perfect unrequited love turned love story book.

One of my favs novels.
I love the FL characters and of course the ML.
They portray the most realistic "relationship".
Starting from mutual feelings, misunderstands and eventually becoming a lover.
