Quite a basic book, here is my summary of the key points: The reason most people find it hard to ask “Do you want to buy this?” is because they ask it too soon.

People make the mistake of trying to close before going through the deal-closing process. Don’t try to negotiate before finding out if the person wants the product or not.

In the deal closing process include a test close, then you handle any objections, and finally you actually go ahead and ask for the deal. “Do you want to buy this product now?” should be an automatic yes. But you do have to ask the question. Don’t be afraid.

Get to know your customer needs it, by doing this you’ve shown them that they need the produce. You know that they can afford it and that they are motivated to buy it now. There is no reason why the customer should say, “No” to the final close question.

There are plenty of points throughout the process where you can figure out if the customer is going to say no, for example if they are not motivated, or they cannot afford it, in which case you should stop the process.

This whole process is your qualification process. You are qualifying buyers – finding out if they need and can afford your product, and if they are motivated. Motivation refers to a need for your product now. You should only continue to speak to qualified potential buyers.

Get a potential buyers attention by telling them what’s in it for them. Always let the audience know WIIFT!

Never forget that testing and measuring in sales is an on-going process. What works today might not work tomorrow. You must test and measure every step of the sales and marketing process, on a consistent, regular basis.

Mentions internet trolls cruel things they say are not a reflection on you, don’t take these personal. You must not think you’ve done something wrong if you get attacked, it’s probably just bad luck. In fact, the bigger your reputation, the bigger your footprint, the more they will come after you.

Mentions you need to get balance right and see people in real life. Life is what it is all about after all Give on social media for at least 6 months before diverting them to your sell

If you have got all the way to the point of asking for the close, and you’ve gone through the correct process, the answer should automatically be YES!

This is John’s first book I read right after I attended his MasterClass in Singapore (Aug2025). There’s no doubt about John’s expertise in using social media and especially AI tools to facilitate and grow business of various kinds. And what intrigued me more is how systematic and easy to understand all the techniques he covered in this book about business and marketing. I’ve read many books on this subject but still found his strategies refreshing and making sense. This is exactly how easy people usually complicate things when the core of marketing can be very simple.
