Women throw themselves at me and I just love it. Being the Star Pitcher of the Tiger Baseball team at LSU has its perks.
One day, I decided to go watch my cousin Alex's first football game of the season. But there was one cheerleader who got my attention. One perfect little hot blonde cheerleader.
The moment I laid eyes on Kassie, I knew I needed to make a move and play to win. But she’s not the same as other girls I’ve met before. She’s sweet but feisty and won’t go down easy. And that excites me.
I will win the trophy and bring the cheerleader home. I just need One Cheer to Win!

This was another great read in the series. In this one we have Ryan who is the star pitcher for LSU. He then meets Kassie who is a cheerleader. They fall in love and of course he gets picked to play baseball professionally. However, in the end they make it work and get their HEA.
Romi Hart writes a great romance novel. This book is about Ryan, an LSU senior baseball player and Kassie, an LSU freshman cheerleader. The story takes them from their first meeting through the academic year. While their attraction was strong, Kassie was aware of Ryan's player image. These issues are the basis of One Cheer to Win. The author builds her story around great character development and relies on her skill with words to keep the reader invested in the outcome. There is sweet romance, and some graphic sex scenes and language, but overall, a really good story.
I loved both One Kiss to Win and One Chance to Win, the first two books in Romi Hart’s Playing to Win series, so much so that I rushed to read book 3 in the series, One Cheer to Win, at the first opportunity to do so. I’m truly happy that I did. Yes, this is definitely the promised “Bad Boy Sports Romance” (actually much more so than book 2 had been). The guy here, Ryan, is a senior at LSU where he’s the phenom star pitcher of the nationally top ranked baseball team. Kassie, his love interest, is a super hot Freshman cheerleader. So stereotypical, right? Totally wrong. Ryan’s also got a brain (he’s an ace at kinesiology) and, while he might start out a bit of a self-centered jerk, he soon falls totally for Kassie who not only has a heart of gold but also has a brain of platinum (if that’s not an actual phrase it should be), with half her scholarship being an academic one to study environmental engineering. While untypical, the romance is perfectly handled (including, yes, some very nice heat) and perfectly written. It’s also total fun. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the third book in the Playing to Win series. In this book, Kassie is a freshman who is on a cheerleading scholarship and meets Ryan, the star baseball pitcher. They notice each other during a football game Kassie is cheering at and when Kassie's teammates tell her Ryan is a player, she decides she isn't interested. Ryan asks Kassie out, but she turns him down, which has never happened to him and it makes him even more determined to date her. Ryan decides to act as if he is not interested anymore, causing Kassie to wonder why. When Ryan learns Kassie is involved in eco clubs, he joins one in hopes of getting her interested in him. They are paired together on a project and Kassie doesn't see Ryan as a player, but as a nice guy. Ryan and Kassie begin dating and when Kassie tells Ryan she is a virgin, he agrees to go slow. Ryan and Kassie are happy to stay home watching movies and tv together and soon Ryan realizes he has feelings for Kassie beyond a casual hook-up, but he will be leaving to play baseball and is scared they will be heartbroken when he leaves. Kassie loves Ryan and knows he will be leaving, but she wants to enjoy their time together. I really liked this story, i like how Ryan grew up and how he asked his cousin Alex for advice. i liked this series and this was another good one.
ONE DELICIOUSLY SWEET READ!!! OMG! Talk about one exciting, fast paced, heart pounding, pulse racing, page turning, thrilling ride that grabs your attention from the start. Man, Romi totally nailed this little guy thoroughly and completely even though I'm a true die hard Bama fan and she has LSU beating us in the first chapter. Really Romi? LOL. I'll let it slide since I know you had no idea. Just kidding. Not about Bama though. All the twists and turns along with a few hard punches this bad boy is definitely a winner. The chemistry between the two main characters are hot, steamy and explosive. You can't help but fall in love with them. In true Romi form the characters and their personalities are so realistic and believable it feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it's easy to picture each scenario as it plays off one another in perfect balance. I love Romi's style and depth that she gives the characters as they grow into the roles laid out as the story unfolds. A little touch and go right along with a rocky start really pulls this magnificent treasure together brilliantly. Romi did a phenomenal job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Amazing job Romi, thanks for sharing this gem with us.
Kassie had always wanted to be a cheerleader for LSU. She finally graduated with a scholarship to the illustrious school and was cheering on the first televised football game. While cheering she saw a handsome young man smiling at her and she smiled back. When she asked her Helena about him, she was told he was a player and she should stay away from him. For the rest of the game she smiled at a young girl in the stands. He was shocked that she no longer paid attention to him. When he saw that she was going to the concession stand he went to introduce himself. Ryan was the pitcher for the baseball team. He was so used to the girls falling all over themselves to talk to him, he was at a loss for words that Kassie wasn't. He decided to go to his normal playbook when it came to girls and he started to ignore her. They actually worked together on a project and invited her to dinner. Then he ignored her completely. Soon he found he really liked her and she liked him. Their problem was that he was a senior and was being scouted by teams in California all the way across the country. A good read.
Kassie always wanted to be a cheerleader at LSu and she had finally made it she was cheering at the first televised match. She notices a hot young guy in the crowd and gives him a smile . When she asks around about him she discovers he has a reputation as a player so she back away no more smiles for him. Ryan is the star pitcher for LSU baseball team he is used to girls chasing him and can't believe it when the hot little cheerleader turns away time to go to his normal playbook and ignore her but somehow it isn't working. As they have to wok together on a project they actually get to know one another and all the bull stops and they find that they really like one another. The only problem is he is been scouted by clubs from all over and they may be separated will they get a chance at a HEA. This is a great fun young love read I thoroughly enjoyed it
I was given a copy of this book but this is true and honest review
This series has been great romantic fun, and this novella is a wonderful addition. Strangers to lovers, Kassi and Ryan have a great passionate edge to them that helps make this story a bit out of the box. Plus, Ryan’s amazing discipline and patience created a remarkable sexual tension that just kept those pages turning. Ryan’s an awesome book boyfriend, for sure.
As usual, Ms. Hart has done an amazing job of creating rich characters with heart and depth in the short span of a novella. The reader finds it easy to feel for these characters and their situations; not an easy feat often accomplished in an afternoon read.
This enjoyable read is easily shared with your co-workers. Love scenes have a spicy flare to them, but adult language is minimal. Romance, however, is maxed out as Kassi and Ryan work their way through the minefield of figuring out a relationship.
One Cheer To Win by Romi Hart is a fun coming of age book. I enjoyed this exploration of young love, hopes and dreams. Romi Hart got this one right, capturing the young adult mindset perfectly. Kassie and Ryan are very well suited. Both are serious students and serious about each other. I loved how Ryan has an entitled attitude and Kassie completely throws him off his conquest games. This hottie is also super smart and athletically talented. Kassie is to be admired; exceptionally smart and beautiful, determined and driven. Overall a good book with a perfect dream come true HEA for this book couple. I read an ARC of this book through BookFunnel and voluntarily share my review.
Very good college and sports romance. Ryan is a senior at LSU, he is all well known as a playboy jock. He loves baseball and is hoping to make it to the major leagues. Ryan is also very intelligent and makes excellent grades. Kassie is a freshman in scholarships one of which are for cheerleaders. She always dreamed of going to college at LSU and being a cheerleader since she was young. Kassie heard about Ryan's reputation and decided to stay far away from him. The only issue I had with this book is that it seemed to get slow at times. I've enjoyed the other books in this series. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Hart.
Kassie, a freshman cheerleader and environmental science major, notices Ryan, senior pitcher and kinesiology major, in the stands during one of the LSU Tigers home football games. As the story progresses their perceptions of each other change and are challenged, all while the worry of the future keeps them in its grips. This book had me cheering for Ryan and Kassie to reach their happily ever after. The whole series is full of wonderful contemporary romance. I am looking forward to where Romi Hart takes it next.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Kassie was really excited to start college on her scholarship for cheerleading and education. She was proud of everything she had done to achieve her goals and she wasn't going to mess things up by being a party girl. Ryan was also on a scholarship for sports and education but he was a senior to her freshman. He was also a player who was slowly getting tired of the games. And when he got to know Kassie and realized she wasn't like the other girls... well then it got interesting. 💕💗💕
I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another great story. It goes to show that when we put our minds to something, all we have to do is pray that it will come true. In this story we meet Ryan and Kassie. Two smart, funny and talented people who have so much in common and do almost anything to keep what they have without losing it. We as people only dream of having what they have. This book was so wonderful and mesmerizing that it is us hooked from the beginning. Excellent read. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
An exciting, fast paced and page turning romance thst grabed my attention from the start. It has twists and turns along with a ups and downs with explosive and steamy hot chemistry between the main characters when a project throws them together. Ryan is a senior and star pitcher of the Tigers baseball team. Kassie is a freshman cheerleader and environmental science major. Can she follow her dreams and can he go pro but still keep the one they love? A good book with a perfect HEA. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
Well written story with nice story line and plot. Written in dual POV which gives the reader a lot more of the feelings and thoughts of the main characters. Characters have a nice chemistry. They are well described and develop well during the story. I like that the characters mature during the story. The author has written this is such a nice way. An amazing chemistry between the characters. I like they are normal students and down to earth. Very relatable for young people. A nice YA story. Enjoyable read.
This is the 3rd book in this wonderful series, and is Ryan and Kassie’s story. Ryan is the star pitcher for the Tiger Baseball team, and is used to girls just throwing themselves at him. Kassie is a cheerleader, who is feisty, and she has been warned to stay away from playboy Ryan. This is a well written flawless story, which is fast paced, thrilling, and with twists and love. I look forward to reading more form this talented author, and highly recommend her work for all readers.
Another great story for Romi Hart! Again the characters come to life on the pages and pull you into their story. Kassie and Ryan fall in love while Ryan was just working hard to get in her pants. Now they just have to overcome the possibility of living far away from each other for Ryan’s baseball career.
I received this book for free through Bookfunnel as an arc and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a great addition to the series! Kassie is more than just a pretty cheerleader, she has a passion to make the world better. Ryan is a pretty boy who has rarely heard the word "no", but turns out he's got more than just his pretty face. I liked the plot and characters, but felt the story could have been flushed out more to add extra substance. However, for a novella it was well developed and got me emotionally invovled. Excellent job Ms. Hart!
3.5 Stars This story features Kassie and Ryan. This is a short, steamy, sweet read but there are no highs and lows. The entire story read at one pace. I do realize these characters are in college and still young but Kassie still carried that high school immaturity.
The story was good but it needed a solid plot behind it.
This is a beautifully written and detailed storyline with chemistry, very good banter, and realistically portrayed main characters. The H/h are both intelligent, the h is a bit immature, but is new to college, the H is somewhat entitled and this is their journey. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Another great story. I loved reading this book, it is full of banter, fun, passion, chemistry and love. Kassie is new to college and Ryan sees Kassie at a football game and likes her and needs her in his life. Its a great book to read that should not be missed. X
I love Romi's way of showing you, not telling you, how the characters present themselves. It's like being there watching everything that happens. I recommend this book to everyone. This time, the storyline , Centers around cheerleaders with out going over board
Kassie is almoat totally unlike me and so I found a bit hard to identify with her. However, I thought it was a cute story and a solid new adult romance. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Extremely entertaining, captivating, and interesting read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong and intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
arc review For honest review. This is a story of Maddie on a full cheerleading scholarship to lsu meets Ryan baseball player . These two characters are really cute.
Another hit by this author. A gripping storyline with down to earth characters that I just adore. I'm really enjoying this series and intend on collecting them all.
